Oh yes, I remember this bug city and script errors... but if you could get it working it was tight, I remember playing for hours. I liked the game play better the ST: Legacy although the graphics weren't all there... wonder if it works for Win 7... good upload man... cyl
jep, sacrifice of angels etc. Still great looking ships. I loved the atmosphere in this game. The typical characters that you could select as officers, the music, the voice acting. Damn, this was a true and proud star trek game. I felt i was fighting in the dominion wars.
Even though the game wasn't too good, I still absolutely love this opening. It has good music, plenty of action, shows off some of the game's best original ships beautifully (the Achilles, Hutet and Strike Cruiser in particular), feels very much like one of the more action-packed DS9 episodes and a surprising amount has been done with the sub-par graphics they had to work with...
Although it had not very good ratings, I absolutely loved this game! It had a sense of sadness (the music helped it a lot) and urgency to every mission (loved the briefings - made you feel you are part of something big).
Love the Achilles class - very slick and powerful ship!
sovereign(largest federation ship ever build) 700m in lenght hm... it is as small as an old venator class star destroyer. BIG GZ for the federation they cannot even build ships (the typhoon class was by far the best could handle several cubes on its own with its valkyrie fighters)
the so called excalibur wasnt a federation vessel in the series and even an neg var is far from as big as a ISD not to mention the SSD
Actually the Sovereign class ship is the second largest Federation starship. Although it is the longest, Galaxy class ships are much bigger in mass and size.
700 meters is big...believe me, if you would see a 700 meter ship hovering over your city in real life, you would change your point of view.
Star Trek ships are small compared to Star Wars ships because they were made to be that way. Gene Roddenbery didnt want the federation to build super huge ships...that the way it is ; )
The reason 'Wars ships tend to be so massive though is that they generally run on fusion power, whereas Federation ships run on vastly more powerful and compact matter/anti-matter power systems... With 200 megatons in every photon torpedo compared with 1 megaton per shot from the largest "vapourise a small town" turbolasers with a (theoretical) maximum range of 5,000 kilometres, Federation ships don't need to be massive...
it hardly runs on XP. you can only use up to service pack 2 in my tests. and it must be just service pack 2. any other updates could possibly change it so the game will not run
what you need is like a CLEAN install of windows XP with either no service pack and NO updates installed. or a clean install of windows XP with only Service pack 2 installed and no updates.
This reminds of why I stopped playing Dominion Wars. Bridge Commander and Starfleet Command 3 are so much better than it. For an intro it's done so badly. Every intro I've ever seen has better graphics than the game. I forgot the ingame graphics but if that's the intro they must be terrible. And that achilles although uncanon is just awesome but not in this game. It's at it's best in BC KM1.0.
Actually I think the GCS and dominion super carrier thing were about equal if not slightly superior to the archilies if i recall correctly... archilies was a souped up class 4 ship, GCS was class 5. Still you had to put stuff like quantum torp upgrade on the GCS while it came standard on the archilies.
don't try to take on a huntet with 2 battlecursiers as escort with only a havaly dam galaxy and 2 saber and a steamrunner they'er good ship but i barly won my saber was down to 19 cwer and 6 were enginers
Yea, even 3, one of them is first one that appears at 0:50, other one is between galay and steamrunner at 0:56 and dunno if its the same, but maybe third one is second one that got PWND by hutet (1:15)
The Ship at 0:56 is definately a Miranda class starship.
I think the Miranda, Excelsior and Nebula should have been featured in the game because they were the most seen ships in DS9 seassions 6 and 7 during the Dominion War battles.
I love the Intro! Only tow things are weird: The cardassian Hutet seems not to have the most advanced targeting systems (It hit Defiant-Class two times!). And second, in my point of view the Achilles is far too powerful, even for an "modern warship". Have you seen how many Quantum launchers it had? Enough for three Sovereigns. Well they are both non-canon, so it doesn`t matter.
Achilles kinda reminds me of Intrepid-class(Voyager) only it looks much cooler. Hutet looks impressive only cuz of its size, but its as ugly as the rest of Cardassian vessles. Btw this is the best Star Trek game ever if you ask me, Legacy sux.
Like OldandCranky said, Achilles class, no canon (meaning, on any of the Star Trek shows) appearance. But it seems like a pretty cool idea for a Federation Warship beyond the Defiant class. I wonder how well the Achilles would do against a Borg cube?
The intro was good, but the game unfortunately was rushed and unfinished when released.
Would have been interesting to see the Cardassians have that huge starship and the Federation with that new Warship (the one that saved the Defiant, or just another Defiant-class warship, from destruction) during the Deep Space Nine series, but I don't think the writers had that much interest in the graphic design of the ships.
The game came out after the series had already ended, unfortunatly. :(
The game was indeed rushed, but I thought it was far better than the most recent Star Trek "Legacy" which was also rushed out, and was made using a five year old game engine, the same Engine that was used for Armada 2...
Mad Doc software are truly pathetic, Simon And Schuster atleast brought out a decent DS9 game with The Fallen, too bad there will never be another DS9 game. :(
this is honestly my favorite star trek game ever. I never managed to get it working on XP. :(

The Cardies sure could have used that Hutet (big ship) during the war. Might have turned the tide.

One thing I hated about this game was that the Defiant was a weak ship. The weopons were weak.

Approximately thirty kilometres, at least by my estimate.

dude...................a super star destroyer is 19 Km's long, the Hutet is NOWHERE near the size of an SSD.
Try 1640 meters.

No it isnt even close to that size.
It is close to the size of a Federation Excalibur class (about 1500 meters at most )

Incorrect the achilles class was the most powerful federation ship in the game but it cost so many command points that its very difficult to get
ICommentonVideo 3 years ago
Did I say it wasn't? But it is better in KM1.0 for BC as it feels better there. More balanced and natural other than a god ship.
