Frankly speaking what makes you think that local made Proton can sell a Persona at RM60k locally (with government tax relieve, assistants, etc) while Hyundai manage to ship their Sonata to US and sell at more or less the same price? honestly.. its not protons fault as whole that sales never made it that great abroad (a few thousand sales over a decades period is very poor, im sorry to say). its a few problems linking together thats making proton unable to realise its full potential. bad marketing, poorly financed R&D, and shoddy part tenders are to blame. combine those problems together and thats you get: relatively outdated cars with current-day prices. very painful. but they'll get through.
