So THAT'S why these things are so rare - you've been buying them and cutting them up!
Seriously, though, great looing train. I have an original 5-unit APT, with a power car I double-powered for better traction. And no, you can't have it!
First Rate really first rate.I take you "must" have both the power cars wired to multiple with each other??.The detail you include is really incredible,I can see you have put many hours into this system.I would have thought that it would be very very
easy to "de-rail" the Coaches from the front set,as I know all about these models
from old.I also know that given the proper corrective fitment of parts the old Hornby couplers can be replaced with working ones!!!!!.

Is it OO gauge?

I must admit that with all the couplings being original equipment you have managed
far more than I ever did.The models I ran used to de-rail all the time when pushing
them in the direction other than towing well done.The APT really does look the Biz
as well.

@flanneryged
It is only a single "powered" power car, but it does have the guts of a Heljan 26 inside it rather than the original power unit.
All the vehicles have been rewheeled which helps a lot with road holding. All couplings are original!

Wow, my fleet of modern trains would love a run on that layout! Perhaps, you could continue uploading some videos with your stock running around?

fantastic. are all the bogies the split ones or is it only the windows that were changed?
i currently have three sets and am looking to do a conversion

The bogies are the split articulated ones as supplied by Hornby, the formation is as close to prototypical as I could make it,
To build the full 14 car set needed five of the Hornby 5-car sets, each additional set will produce two vehicles with articulated bogies at each end.
next time we have the layout out I will try to get a side on veiw of the train passing more slowly.
