LOL, i got a free laptop from this kid at work. I had to replace monitor. FIXED. Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 @ 2.00Ghz 4GB ram. 64 bit processor. Intel Mobile 4 series graphics. w/HDMI . I still have this game and will try it later.
@VolvoEP Yes you most certainly can, HL2 runs great on HD 4200's and higher at full settings. Think of HL2 as a benchmark for a good on the go gaming lappy, If it can play HL2 at max settings then you can play anything from the Sims 3 to Battlefield bad company (The first one)
oh bumbaskets, mine will never be able to play that... *looks closer* w8 now, the computer in the video is the same as the one I'm watching the video with... :3
yeah, my last HP latop ran HL2 like it would run the first doom, everything was flawless, no clipping or any kind of choppy game play, however the computer itself went kaput after 1 year of use, after that i went asking around and it turns out that motherboard failure is very common on HP laptops.
ejoy your while it lasts my friend. This new acer one im using now is preforming great.
Thats cool mate. My machine has the same configuration as yours. It's a dv2753tx. I've been wondering what games I could get for it. I'm a bit of a NOOB when it comes to games. Been worried I would by something and it would totaly fail! I haved a better idea now =)
Yes, my laptop is old now. They came out with newer models just a few months after I purchased mine, but I needed one before school started. Everything becomes OLD right away in the technology world.
I love the fact that valve knows how to optimize games so well that it can run in any pc. I got a laptop with the same specs and I was basically forced to turn up the resolution or turn vert sync on since my fps were aroudn the 170's and it uploaded things way too fast which made it stutter. I personally like running the game at 1024*768 but the fps gets way out of control and its way too much for my monitor to handle.
i have intel core 2 duo processors 512 mb ram X2 and an ati radeon x1400 (256mb) got the demo works really well and windows vista makes a diffence because you can tone the graphics card up or down dosen't change game options for the game but does make it have better quality or higher famerate and can still tone down with the actual game settings on the program!
yeah but with all the amazingly small things you get these days there could be a laptop that runs hl2 at least 2x better but then again it costs a lot of money by the way really liked the video boamuro
hey man that laptop runs hl2 fine very nice only thing i dont liek about laptop's is keyboard is to small lol but very nice what kind of fps you get on it?
If want to play recent games at max settings, the 8400 isn't going to cut it for a heavy gamer. 8700M GT? If you have that option and don't mind paying extra, I'd go for that since you can't upgrade video cards on a laptop. What games do you plan on playing? High settings or you don't care as long as if it can run?
I've just ordered a dell m1330 with the same Nvidia 8400m GS graphics card and was worried performance on games like this wouldn't cut it but it seems to be playing real smooth even with 2x AA and at 1280x800. Awesome. What do you mean by HDMI running - are you playing this on a HDTV or are you saying that having the HDMI Port enabled slows up gameplay even when playing on your laptop screen?
This video is showing the game on the laptop. I just wrote in the description that the 8400M GS came with an HDMI port. I'm not sure if Dell includes that though, but I believe you get more dedicated memory instead. Did you look at my other videos? I also have another video showing Half-Life 2 running but displaying it on my HDTV thru the HDMI port to the laptop.
Yeah the Dell m1330 comes with HDMI out too. Can't wait to try it out on a massive HDTV.
The m1330 has 128mb ram on the graphic card which I believe is standard on the 8400m GS. Seriously considering cancelling my order for a 1730 with an 8700 graphics card but your video has given me hope. Will check out your HDMI video now. Cheers
Also, I later learned the 8400M GS is actually only 64 MB of dedicated memory! o.o But Nvidia has this thing called "Turbocache" which uses shared memory from your RAM, so you better have at least 2 GB of ram for your system.
I don't know about the HP but the Dell m1330 has 128mb dedicated video ram. All DirectX 10 cards will also used system ram to enhance the dedicated ram when playing DX10 games - see
