  • @VolvoEP Yes you most certainly can, HL2 runs great on HD 4200's and higher at full settings. Think of HL2 as a benchmark for a good on the go gaming lappy, If it can play HL2 at max settings then you can play anything from the Sims 3 to Battlefield bad company (The first one)

  • @powersurge91 Yeah, i can run Sims 3 at max...and half life to.

BTW...do you think i can run GTA4? thanks for answer. (:

  • yeah, my last HP latop ran HL2 like it would run the first doom, everything was flawless, no clipping or any kind of choppy game play, however the computer itself went kaput after 1 year of use, after that i went asking around and it turns out that motherboard failure is very common on HP laptops.

ejoy your while it lasts my friend. This new acer one im using now is preforming great.

  • Intel Celeron proccessor 530

    (1.73 Ghz, 533 Mhz FSB, 1MB L2 Cache)

  • Your Videocart is not so good.

bud u can download the demo @ steam than can u see if it can at ur pc ;-)

  • HL2 is a perfect example of a great game that doesn't require a monster computer, bravo Valve.

  • i have same laptop but with amd processor and i can run gta iv with med settings =)

  • Thats cool mate. My machine has the same configuration as yours. It's a dv2753tx. I've been wondering what games I could get for it. I'm a bit of a NOOB when it comes to games. Been worried I would by something and it would totaly fail! I haved a better idea now =)

  • download steam, then download the hl2 demo, and portal...and cod4...

  • ok can i please hav ur computer?

  • i had this game...i set everything to low and it stil lagged like hell :/

so the first level was impossible for me to do

  • Time to really upgrade your computer. Graphically, this game isn't that demanding now.

  • everything was fine...just everything was so slow :/

i wudnt mind ive played halo and cs 1.6 and gta san andreas on my laptop :/

so i would of though half-life 2 would of ran easily

    You're right though :)

  • @boamuro

  • How well does Episode 1 and 2 run on that system?

  • whats your screen???? 15.6 inc?

  • ok I got the same screen size

  • Mine is 14.1

  • like any good MTI graduate, gordon would get throuigh all his problems with a crowbar and a shotgun. lol. good vid and sweet laptop.

  • I can only play Hl1 on my laptop but i have an 8400gs video card in my desktop and it's good i play 1280x1024 aa max and af about 40fps

  • Would it work on like..

    Radeon 9200

    1.80 ghz

    768MB ram?

    Lots of space though.

  • u would need to upgrade ur RAM

  • I hav the dv6825us and runs very good the games, it has the same video card and the HDMI support too

  • tiene todos los efectos y el hdr?

  • are u playing in the trackpad?

sry if u awnser this in the video.

  • cool

  • man... how much does that laptop cost??

  • about 900 bucks i have a laptop a bit better than his

  • how much did ur laptop cost?

  • $890 at the time.

  • "still AMAZING"?

    it's not old..

  • Made in 2004? That's old... anything made last year is old.

  • Yeah but I find when saying the word "still" it makes it sound really old.

  • these days, when you have a laptop that is 6 months old.. that is old!

  • Yes, my laptop is old now. They came out with newer models just a few months after I purchased mine, but I needed one before school started. Everything becomes OLD right away in the technology world.

  • it kills my computer very badly. i lag sooo much. i need a new laptop for the best deal. any suggestions?

  • there is a laptop for 849 (or at least with the discount i got) it is called

HP Pavillion dv6000 special edition it is really awesome

  • I have a nicer one. It has the same graphics card as the guy whos playing, 250gb hard drive 2.4ghz and it looks awsome. It has a hdmi port as well!!!

  • lol i have the same laptop but a newer version (HP dv6000)

  • me 2!!! it plays halo 2 and gears of war perfectly in case u were wondering

  • This game have bettter graphics on PC or X360?

  • i belive in x360 for the hdr...

hl2 for X360 have enabled the hdr right?

  • hey i got a 1024 mb RAM

    a 2.80 GHz intel celeron

and 200gb hardrive i know thats good but will a ati 256 mb graphics card can handle hl2 or orangebox?

  • hell yea it can handle orange box, u only need 1.8ghz 512Ram and 64mb ati !

  • I love the fact that valve knows how to optimize games so well that it can run in any pc. I got a laptop with the same specs and I was basically forced to turn up the resolution or turn vert sync on since my fps were aroudn the 170's and it uploaded things way too fast which made it stutter. I personally like running the game at 1024*768 but the fps gets way out of control and its way too much for my monitor to handle.

  • so, i get a 'good' config, but my fear is about my geforce 8400GS (PC, not notebook), what u think ? can i play at high config ?

    -AMD 5200 X2 (2.61ghz)

    -2gb ram 667

  • I guess this is suficient, Half Life desn't need best videocarts today, just a good videocart can run it.

  • very computer

  • nice computer :D

  • thanks to you i know which computer to pick :) not the same one as yours but a good one from hp

  • i got half life after the orange box was released cause i was confused about all the episodes an shit

anywho how much is that laptop?

  • Orange Box for $25 was an awesome deal. $890

  • how many ghz is your computer???

  • Look to the right side of the page...

  • wow. you need to practice aiming

  • nice men !!

  • From HP...

  • i have intel core 2 duo processors 512 mb ram X2 and an ati radeon x1400 (256mb) got the demo works really well and windows vista makes a diffence because you can tone the graphics card up or down dosen't change game options for the game but does make it have better quality or higher famerate and can still tone down with the actual game settings on the program!

  • Half-Life FTW!

I just ordered an Alienware Area-51 M15X... amazing.

2.4 Ghz (no upgrades 2.8 with upgrades)

2GB RAM (with no updates, 4GB with upgrades)

    Nvidia Geoforce 8800 GTX

  • You are lucky to get the alienware laptop!

Its amazingm but i have got the HP Pavilion dv6000, i guess its just as good! xD

  • Fuck off.

  • whats a really good gaming laptop at a good price

  • probably dell XPS. that would be my guess.

  • the title says "hp laptop" o.o how can it be a dell? lol

  • you dumbass, i was responding to 300apple's comment which read "whats a really good gaming laptop at a good price."

    :p

  • Holy fuck on a lap top that is freaking amazing

  • yeah but with all the amazingly small things you get these days there could be a laptop that runs hl2 at least 2x better but then again it costs a lot of money by the way really liked the video boamuro

  • I Cant Wait For Feb IM Getting a new Graphics Card Which Should Run The Orange Box

  • nice. Now try playing that with instead of a mouse a movepad. Im a noob with movepads

  • well evey1 is a noob with the pads so a mouse for me always

  • dude can u tell me or send me a link were u buy that laptop plz

  • how much $ was it

  • $890

  • hey man that laptop runs hl2 fine very nice only thing i dont liek about laptop's is keyboard is to small lol but very nice what kind of fps you get on it?

  • i hate steam!

  • how much your laptop cost? i got mine for about $1200 and i think the CPU is a 2.4Ghz dual core, the GeForce Go 8600 GS

    1 GB of ram

  • $890

  • i downloaded this game like 5 times from emule butt everytime i started the game it just restarted my computer HELP!

  • Buy the game.

  • thanks for thee idea

  • i have a hp laptop with nvidia geforce 7150m integrated is that good?

  • Not really. That's a very low-end graphics card.

  • i have HL2 (from Emule) with no steam, try to reinstall steam.

  • TIght, i got one a those comin in the mail

  • silly, u know computers wont fit in the mail box!

  • they'll put it outside ur house or contact u if ur not home by the time i think... of course not putting it in the mail box....

  • If want to play recent games at max settings, the 8400 isn't going to cut it for a heavy gamer. 8700M GT? If you have that option and don't mind paying extra, I'd go for that since you can't upgrade video cards on a laptop. What games do you plan on playing? High settings or you don't care as long as if it can run?

  • I've just ordered a dell m1330 with the same Nvidia 8400m GS graphics card and was worried performance on games like this wouldn't cut it but it seems to be playing real smooth even with 2x AA and at 1280x800. Awesome. What do you mean by HDMI running - are you playing this on a HDTV or are you saying that having the HDMI Port enabled slows up gameplay even when playing on your laptop screen?

  • This video is showing the game on the laptop. I just wrote in the description that the 8400M GS came with an HDMI port. I'm not sure if Dell includes that though, but I believe you get more dedicated memory instead. Did you look at my other videos? I also have another video showing Half-Life 2 running but displaying it on my HDTV thru the HDMI port to the laptop.

  • Yeah the Dell m1330 comes with HDMI out too. Can't wait to try it out on a massive HDTV.

The m1330 has 128mb ram on the graphic card which I believe is standard on the 8400m GS. Seriously considering cancelling my order for a 1730 with an 8700 graphics card but your video has given me hope. Will check out your HDMI video now. Cheers

  • Also, I later learned the 8400M GS is actually only 64 MB of dedicated memory! o.o But Nvidia has this thing called "Turbocache" which uses shared memory from your RAM, so you better have at least 2 GB of ram for your system.

  • I don't know about the HP but the Dell m1330 has 128mb dedicated video ram. All DirectX 10 cards will also used system ram to enhance the dedicated ram when playing DX10 games - see

The Miracle of DirectX 10 video
