  • would the 4 people who dislike this please produce a better version

  • idk those shaolin arm breaks kind suck the application doesnt seem right

  • One of my Favorites!

  • Wow, his form was like... perfect! Incredible.

  • @edge3220 Typically, all Shao Lin monks train to perfection.

  • @CraneTiger2 No doubt. It's flustrating when people take talent and discipline for granted, let alone such perfection.

  • I don't know about anyone else but I find it hard to make this form look good.

  • its jet li

  • Shi Yong Jie (Zhang Shi Jie) have very good fundaments, you see immediately that he practice a lots of basics. Strong fundaments results in nice flowing movements :) . 5 star from Feilong !

  • Great Job! Your Stances and movement are a credit to your Style.

  • Buddhism is Life

  • nice but i would kick hes ass with my drunken style

  • is this traditional luohan quan? because i've seen many variations and only want the real deal!

  • I think the song is "general's mandate" its also translated as "general's orders" it has another name too but I forget.

  • @Emangroove I think the another name is "a man of determination", is easy to find here in youtube, even with translations.

  • what is the name of the music?

  • Im not sure if theres a name for it, but its used in a turd load of Shaw Brothers movies.

Hell its used in a lot of Kung Fu movies of the 70s

  • @UrielCyrus It's wong fei hong's theme, you've heard many renditions of it, especially if you've seen any of the Once Upon a Time in China movies with Jet Li and Yuen Biao

  • WTF! Zzzzz....

  • excelente!!!

  • awesome shaolin luohanquan! Zhang Shijie practices an extremely pure version of the shaolin wushu routines with exquisite technique. 5 stars from masteringwushu . com

  • This guy is amazing!

  • such strength in his footwork. wow. look at how tight his stances are and effortless... really wouldn't want to be kicked by this guy.

  • that's awesome! Love the broken timing.

  • Great Form!

  • The Louhan Quan was the style introduced by the Indian Monk Da-Mo 6th century AD. It has its influence on the Tamil Arts of Kuttu Varisai and Kuttu Kalai. It was the first time I saw the Louhan Form, it's very graceful.

  • I got my source from The Bubishi translated by Sensei MCCarthy and other info from the internet. I thought all along that Da-mo introduced some combative techniques from the Tamil Arts along with Yoga exercises and Zen practice.

  • What you said above is true. I was making comments on your ealier statement. Louhan Quan is a form (not style) bases on the personal characteristics of 18 Louhan(s). This form was created by 4th generation disciple of Damo. This form was not exist during Damo's time.

  • there is a ton of louhan lo han lohan shibahsho

styles some are long handed northern styles

  • Can you tell me how many branches belong to Northern Style? Which one of these branches have this form in its program or curiculum?

  • these forms are very old and there has become alot of room for interpretation. if youd like to learn this youd have to inquire about the lineage of the kung fu instructors in your area

  • Such a nice form and clean move...really awsome performance.

Thanks a lot for uploading this

  • amazing performance by shaolin wushu master Zhang Shijie! Luohanquan is a great traditional wushu form. you get 5 stars from masteringwushu . com

  • he is good. i trained under him at huiguang 蕙光 in June 07 he is a pleasure to train under

  • Where?

  • Which province is HuiGuang in??

You are fortunate to study with such a teacher!!!

  • it is in Henan Provence just north east of Shaolin temple and just south of a portion of the yellow river...

I have also trained with him in Columbus, Ohio where his sister school is "the kung fu school I study at"

  • next time I go to Shandong, I hope to go to Huigang as well...Keep practicing!!!!!!!!!! (:

  • That's one form that truly seems designed to kick a mans ass!

  • 彼らの動きには、ティグレ、私はすべてを与える1つのクラスを少林の日です。

  • Concordo!!! XD

  • That's Shifu Yong Jie AKA Zhang Shijie Yong Jie 32nd generation. He practices such relic styles like Jin 'Gang - the styles you'd see in old black & white Chinese Kung Fu movies LOL. I practice that Luohan style - looks easy and cool to watch but very hard to execute and get the rythm right. If you do get the rythm right, it's the coolest thing man... and feels very heroic as well as practical in combat.

  • Great footage. just for info, I belonged to the 27th Generation. However, nowadays, Taolu are simply transmitted unlike in the past and I think there are pros and cons. In the past, We need to practise the basics for at least 5 years to perfection and also test our resolve, endurance, stamina and sincerity. Only after the 3rd year before we can practise the 1st Taolu which depends very much which 'skills' your master thinks you can specialise in. So, not all master practises same specialization.

  • nice movements

  • i know people who are supposed "masters" but couldn't do this form at all like this man!>. This is def awesome..

  • what is the soundtheme of this video? èlease reponse me

  • Wow, best Luohan I have seen. Very beautiful, excellent warrior this guy is.

  • Imagine if someone tried pushing him around... I'd LOVE to see that shit.

These people are so amazing. Respect.

  • wicked movement

  • and another thing. his form is very detailed and makes my form look very simple... look at my vids to see what i'm talking about.

  • Yours is still nicely done! Just take the years into account he is ahead of you in practice ;)

The precicion and detail come with experience.

  • WOW This form is so CLEAN!!! hehe love it

  • Check out the new stunts of Shaolin Legend Live Performance! on DVD 10/30/07 milanrecords . com/ shaolin

  • very nice

  • The song is Once Upon a Time in China - Wong Fei Hong.

  • Very on point

  • this is just awesome!! i like the move at 1:00 he is just flowing and .....PUNCH. Feels like waching a river. thanks for posting!

  • his school is outside of zhanggou somthing like 100 km from shaolin temole this his a quiat new form 2o years that beased on traditionl movment with little more big movmeent' can say it tradional his preformence is verey good' his mame his zhang xi jia or monk name shi yong jia the cost in his school is somthing like 20$ for aday and he teach

  • His school is huiguang wuxiao in xinzheng, about 70k south of zhengzhou, his name is zhang shi jie.

  • I love the music, what's the song called?

  • It sounds like the song from Jackie Chan's Drunken Master, only without the singing and the electric guitars. LOL :)

  • My God - this form, and this practitioner, are remarkable, stunning, captivating, mesmerizing. The physical dexterity, endurance, power, control, and fluid manipulation of the body leave me utterly speechless. Thank you so much for posting this. I've watched it a dozen times already.

  • very excellent, i would love to learn the luohan all of them. makes me even more excited to train in a few hours.

  • some basics could be better an when the knee is raised it is better to have foot pointing down and turned in slightly but other than AWESOME!!!

  • Actually in traditional shaolin the foot is often raised open, this is so it can be used to guard, blocking accross the groin for example. Notice some movements the foot is raised straight, others open. This is deliberate because the application of the movements are different. His performance is almost flawless.

  • cool

  • Nice modern wushu!

So, um, when's he entering the UFC?

  • LOL Shut up, man! :p

UFC is not the end-all and be-all of martial arts.

    __

BTW nice video. I'd like to see how he puts those into application.

  • calm down

  • BTW...this Video is anything but modern Wushu. It's traditional and very good at that!

  • love the music

  • nice one!!

  • this is true shaolin

  • very nice form i saw this kind of form in my jim

but the white color in china means death no?

  • This is what real shaolin is, amazingly executed, fast, powerfull, accurate, Flawless. I can honestly say this is one of the best traditional shaolin forms posted. Well done!. One of my favourites.

  • I agree

  • this is abit different. i like it better. all the posture of luohan are there but placement i think flows better.

  • wow well executed, all I can say. EXCELLENT.

  • powerful!
