i love standerd poodle i used to have one called buddy its a year today since he died he qulified for crufts a few time and got placed up there

Do you know the history of the standard poodle? If so you would not be making such uneducated, and rude comments.

The first picture of a poodle is a woodcut and the poodle has an uncut coat that reaches to the ground for protection during hunting and from weather. Foo foo cuts are a late 19th century fad. The latest fad are extreme cuts. And I have to admit, I liked the camel cut.....and the Budweiser dog was just awesome. In the end, shaving the muzzle shows the modern cut doesn't follow any history stemming from the dogs workng life. The modern cut just demeans the dog.

It's Angela actually, yes I know Malc shows him. It is a long way to go but so was IPC and Malcs bitch got the reserve ticket and it was not expected despite what people might think

That was so nice to see. Whoever thought of shaving the coats of the poodle breed was seriously messed up. Sadly, it is so accepted & almost necessary in most shows.

Give them dignity and leave them more natural.

You know the breed well. How & when did the lamb trim originate? Is their a purpose for it?

Lamb trim is a pet trim. The real trims are lion trims a version of which is the bald bum one!! These were designed to keep the dogs joints warm but not restrict their swimming when they were retrieving game from water.
