That's Mai Hagiwara. At the time of filming, Mai was having eye trouble and needed eye surgery. I forget the whole story on the eye surgery thing, but she's wearing sunglasses in the PV because the bright lights bother her eyes. I forget if this was before or after surgery.

I doubt that it's because of her age. In Japan, you're not considered an adult until age 20. I do believe that she's choosing to leave because she's done with high school now and wants to move on to something else. Konno Asami from Morning Musume did the same thing. Speaking of translation,Ｉ watched several H!P clips with subtitles. And Ｉ found that most of them included small mistakes and even obvious mistranslations,so Ｉ think they don't fully convey the true meaning and distinctive atmosphere of the lyrics. Ｉ wonder wether foreigners,including you,think that the translations are correct and evaluate that they're good songs or feel like "What???" as Ｉ did?

Most of the translations you see in fandom -- be they for H!P or anime or whatever -- are done for expediency and general meaning. It's a handful of amateurs trying to process a mountain of material as quickly as possible. As such, some nuance is inevitably lost.

There's also the problem of competing egos. I myself have been involved in a few subtitling projects, and many of the people I worked with simply didn't like to be corrected. They don't acknowledge the importance of real editing.

None of that matters, though, because most of the people reading these translations are teenagers with short attention spans. (Harsh but true.) They don't know Japanese at all, so they don't -care- about nuance.

You and I are both in our 30's (if our profile pages are to be believed), and we've both had proper education in the other's language (although you obviously know more English than I know Japanese), so we can see and understand the problems. But we are the extreme minority.
