Get Thunderbird with Lightning instead (Thunderbird = e-mail client, Lightning - calendar) because it's free and more simple to use. Outlook is so cluttered with extra functions that it ruins the "user experience." Outlook might be right for a small group of people, but ordinary folks with normal jobs will do just fine with Thunderbird/Lightning.
I'm a researcher by the way with tons for meetings to attend and important contacts to communicate with and I still prefer T/L over Outlook.
I have a question, it cost like 140$, so is it a one time purchase or do you have to buy a new edition avery year? Or can you just updated as necessary for a small fee?
Google search 'Mozilla Thunderbird', it's essentially the same as Microsoft Outlook 2010 but it's free. But without the advanced features obviously, but who actually needs them?
I am no office wiz but at first glance all is working well with regards to my updating from office 2003 and I like the look and feel as well. kudos nice stuff....
The incoming emails for a recently hired employee does not appear in the inbox. We checked SPAM folder and the emails don't appear there either. Would anyone know where the emails are going or what the problem is?
@1fludge1 Then i would recomend a personell email client such as, Mozilla Thunderbird, or Windows Live, or Express... Me myself i use Thunderbird, ITS THE BEST

DOWNLOAD MICROSOFT WINDOWS 7 AND OFFICE 2010 WITH SERIAL NUMBERS FOR FREE BY CLICKING HERE: microsoftwindowsandofficeforfree.blogspot.com ENJOY IT! ;)
i have now been using 2010 since May and love having the ribbon in outlook - conversation view can be confusing to begin with but it is a brill way of seeing a load of messages all connected although it does do it by subject so need to be careful you dont list messages which are not part of the origional conversation quick steps excellent but my favourite in 2010 is excel slicers
LOOKOUT people stay away from OUTLOOK 2010 it freezes unless someone explains me why and how to fix this, and this have nothing to do with my computer.
@badguy66626 Mine freezes too.. I'm a software developer by trade and I haven't been able to figure it out. Disabled all the addins, still does it. Wish I hadn't upgraded nothing new worth using in office 2010 anyways.
Hello moron, please tell me why I had to rename the nk2 file from user.user to user user (user space user instead of user dot user) for outlook 2010 to be able to import it using the outlook /importnk2 switch. Fucking morons I hate microsoft you are fucking sick fucks. I hope you die horrible deaths you pieces of shit wasting my time so much fuck you. Die.
@2012cleansingtime Yes, the profile name was user.user. What you programmed your piece of shit to replace a . with space? Or are you just a cunt? Fuck you all burn you sons of bitches I just spent 6 hours getting this to work. Why didn't you make an "import nk2 file" function for 2010. Sick freaks. I bet you enjoy the energy of people like myself who hate you so much. Fucking burn you mother fucker!
Great new workgroup type features. I have always liked Outlook at home and at work for their own reasons but the quicklinks will be great at home and work and the meeting requests with all people involved in an email chain will be great for work. It looks like somehow Microsoft is incorporating a lot of those features that made Google Wave interesting into the desktop
oh brilliant! microsoft really does a great job! taking the worst email program in the world, give it a fancy design and a load of buttons and there you go!
They just won't give up. Can't they just face that the way forward for emails are web based services? no loading delay, login every where in the world and 100% free of charge.
Office 2010 appears to be even more confusing than ever. Interface is WAY too cluttered. Instead of simplifying the software, they keep packing unnecessary buttons, popups, more buttons, buttons and more buttons. It's still a bloated pig of an Email program! Takes too friggin long to load, and still a ton of bugs in the contact manager. No thanks M$
Google would like everyone to think they've got Microsoft on the ropes. This video gives me the impression that they don't. The new features in outlook 2010 will really bring value to the way people live and work today. Check it out!
So this "quicksteps" business, does that just apply to email functionality, or can I create macros for other operations as well? I use Outlook primarily for scheduling my employees and every week I have to export all of my calendars in order to create data for analysis by my own program. It's a real chore to have to go through the steps for each calendar, especially MANUALLY entering the date range to export. If this is dealt with in 2010, I will buy it, otherwise no point!
I have recently downloaded Office 2010 and on Outlook, I am having an issue finding the Categorize button/command(s). If anyone can be of assistance, please help :)
I just install Outlook 2010 and I found out that New mail take a long time to pop up.. Im also using MSN Messenager and the Messenager tell me there a new email in my inbox and it take as long as two minute to recieve my email in Outlook 2010. Hope Bill Gates fix this problem..
I am Definitely Getting 2010 when it gets out. ( I am a bit afraid of the word BETA.)I like Ribbons, BUT I hate when it minimizes my Work Space on Netbooks. I work with A Netbook(9Inch) and A Desktop (24inch). With outlook 2007, I can remove unused icons. but the ribbon can't. if Microsoft can Add such a future. I will be there slave 4eva :).
I don't see the value in the redesign, the ribbon etc. What I could use is e-mail management in my inbox a lot more sophisticated than what was shared.
Google Mail, Tasks, Chrome and Android also ape MS quite a bit. ;) Both companies would be silly not to imitate the awesome features of each other and try and improve upon them.
Outlook is a lifesaver for me in a big organization (no, not Microsoft) where I have to synchronize with a million other people and there's sensitive data flying around internally. For personal stuff, Google wins for convenience.

I mean really, who wants to spend £120 on this?!
I just want a way to easily access all of my email inbox's in one place!
Can anyone suggest something a little more on the cheap side?
I wish I could get the Mac Mail app on my Windows machine.
