I have a Motorola Droid and the keyboard is a constant problem for me because I have big hands. I'm really interested in the Motorola Droid 2 because of the new awesome boot animation and the redesigned larger keyboard. I would pick this Droid over the Droid X because it's not much different and it's more affordable. I hope the rumor is true about it coming out this August!

There's absolutely no notable difference between the Droid 1 and 2. Okay, so the Droid 2 is gonna come standard with 2.2 FroYo? Who cares? Droid 1 owners are getting the 2.2 update in a few weeks. You can easily overclock the Droid 1 past 1GHz, so that's not a problem. If you really want a new Droid, just get the Incredible or the X. Don't waste your money on this. PS: Terrible boot screen.

I just read that the Droid 2 isn't coming out until October/November. I am glad. THEY HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO IMPROVE THE KEYBOARD! Protruding keys and space in between keys isn't to much to ask for...

I'm due for an upgrade, but I'm not liking the key designs of these new Android phones. What is up with moving the "back" button to the center right? That's like Firefox and IE moving the "page back" button to the right of the address bar. Honestly I don't see the engineer's reasoning for moving the front buttons around. That's like me releasing a phone but changing the 7 and 9 keys around just to make it something new.

I work at Best Buy and you have no idea how many waves of people came in, wanting to return their iPhad the same day they bought it (and I was more than glad to do the process^^) Customers themselves had recommended Adroid devices to me back when I was on Sprint, I did my own research, bought a DROID, and NEVER looked back. @aSuP3RSaiYaN In all honesty, the DROID 2 is almost completely similar (according to rumors and supposed "reports"), to the o.g. DROID. Only differences are a faster processor, smooth edges, a silver speaker grill instead of the gold, a different and bigger physical keyboard, and a bit of a glossier matte finish. So the differences are mainly the aspects of the hardware rather than the software. As for the DROID X, it has a bigger screen, 8 MP camera, and no physical keyboard. Questions? =)

That was my understanding with the OMAP's as well, they are easily overclockable and have great graphics processing. That's why you can see Droids running Froyo on 1.2 GHz kernels doing ridiculous MFLOPs and Quadrant scores.

They put the two together. The Snapdragon has a bigger #, but the OMAP has dedicated graphics component as well as the A9 ARM cortex processor, to push the power without increasing the #.

Add to that, the original DROID used a 600MHz A8.

And the possible new one uses a 750MHz A9 with the updated graphics component. As far as I'm concerned, at least both the Snapdragon and OMAP are faster than the A4 chip in the Iphone.

Droid life claims 4.3 inch screen. Compare your Droid with their photos, the bottom touch button spacing is much wider, the screen is huge.

And I believe it will be incredibly uncomfortable to hold.

Oh, your right. Still, my argument is that 3.7 is optimal and 4.3 will most likely be uncomfortable to hold and use with one hand (I find it so about htc hd2). And Droid's 3.7 screen has about the same width as iPhone display so I guess they conisder it optimal as well.
