  • I saw Grable in the National Tour of Dolly in Denver (ca. 1964?). She was great. During the big number at the Harmonia Gardens, she managed to pull up her skirt as she walked down the stairs and showed her fabulous legs.

  • @foxmusicals

    Where di you find this?

    When was this made?

  • this is a cross-tribute to hello dolly, and hillbilly caricatures like lil abner and petticoat junction.

  • Betty grable, ok she would admit she was no garland, she wasn,t allowed to be! She was pushed into formula musicals 's there was no tv but she had the box office clout most of her peers didn,t, hers was a stardom built on financial returns for 10 consecutive years she was in the top ten box office draws numberone in 1943, number three in 1951 in the movie world magazine in 1952 she was voted the readers top star

  • I think you're answering the wrong person; I didn't say Grable was more talented, I said that Garland made the top ten list 3 times in the 1940s.

  • This is absolutely charming!

  • she took over the lead in the touring company of Hello, Dolly!. She starred in a 1969 musical called Belle Starr in London, but it was savaged by critics and soon folded.

  • thanks to Carol for having the old movie stars on her show to shine! She gave them the spotlight and now we have these great clips to remember these great stars like Betty Grable. If it weren't for Carol, nothing like this would exist

  • Every time I watch this video, Betty just gets better and better. What a treat it would have been to see her doing the original choreography. It's interesting how they use elements of the Mame dance break to give Betty and the boys a chance to cut loose. I love Betty Grable!!

  • I wish Betty was better remembered she really was the biggest moneymaking star of the 40's and carried on into the mid fifties, then onto las vegas and eventually back to broadway!!!

  • @foxmusicals Not to worry...SHE'S REMEMBERED!

  • Wonderful Betty loved her she sang danced looked fabulous what more could anyone ask? to me she was one of the greatest film stars ever, she had it all and talent unriveled BRILL thanks for this tv clip.

  • betty grable more than a movie star , a goddess

  • Yes, she's one of the really big stars...One of the handful of really iconic names in movie history...brings up a whole era. She was my favorite as a kid.

  • Betty Grable is the best! i,ve got all her movies and nearly all her tv shows she was a much bigger star at the time than ur garland , turners and crawfords a true star ! garland never appeared in the top ten box office stars, Betty did for 10 consecutive years.

  • altho i do like garland , turner and crawford and most other vintage stars

  • @foxmusicals You are wrong, Garland did appear in the top 10; 3 times. 1940, 1941 and 1945.

  • @monroenorma Judy Garland had 100 times the talent Grable did. You serious? Nothing against Betty Grable, she had her place, but seriously, Garland blows her away.

  • carol burnett show in 1968

  • Looks like her appearance on the Carol Burnette show back in the early 70s or late 60s. Too bad the cigarettes got her and she left us too soon.
