that what extreme instabilty and a artic coldfront can do. with a powerful jet stream perfect wind shear also with a constant flow of moisture off the gulf. I KNOW DETAILED RIGHT
hahaha man, you are my new hero. I cant believe you would take the time to do this, this is amazing, its like a flash back to when i was young and terrified of tornadoes! this song is ominous as hell too, they should blast this over the tornado sirens, it would be more effective.
I watched the Edmond tornado on live television today. A dramatic sequence of events unfolded before thousands. My prayers are with the communities affected by the inclement weather.
So did I. I was in my office, flipping through the channels when I saw CNN covering it. I flipped to TWC and of course they were finishing up another riveting repeat of It Could Happen Tomorrow. So I flipped back to CNN and watched as it touched down. I couldn't believe it.
It is eerily reminicent to the 1986 Springbrook Tornado that touched down in my neighborhood - it was the first tornado caught on cam by a helicopter journalist and the footage was widely studied for years to follow.
One more thing, today is the one year anniversary of this!

I saw the Storm Stories episode about this on TWC. Also, this is perfect tornado music. :)

I remember this. I live in Cooke County near the Red River in Texas. The county to our west was issued a tornado warning and it touched down.

You can even see the hook echo passing north of Oklahoma City that prompted the Tornado Warning shown across the bottom of the screen.

The crawl? Do you mean the doppler radar?

did they play this song that day?
SCOGINJE 3 years ago
No they didn't, I chose this song because it was one of the newer ones I had access too and was too upbeat and unfitting for the situation.
theweatherchazz 3 years ago
On the tornado warning scroll, where it says, "TAKE COVER NOW", the punctuation should be an exclaimation point (!) rather than a period.

did the weather channel play that song back on tuesday?

No.

That's an old version of the local forecast. Perhaps something from the mid 90's.

I'd been looking at the NWS website all week and kind of saw this coming. Excellent job Chazz! BTW that one tornado was by you?

i meant to say that this crawl is so much better than Intellistar's, in terms of the beep.

Hard to believe that this came a few weeks after that devastating ice storm.
