I read about this several years ago while it was still being developed, the idea was to put a lot of heavy bullets out there, very fast, with little recoil. There is a sort of pistol type Kris, but I don't know if it was released for sale. about 1/3rd the size of this.

@1bearcatf8f but 9mm is always available, anywhere around the world, and the recoil is not has hard as a .45, and when rounds fly at 1,100 + you won't be able to tell if it was a .45 or 9mm, plus that fire rate could be even higher with 9mm's, so i say that a 9mm is best for an SMG, however a .45 will make a difference on the chances of a person dropping on the first round, so a .45 would be better for a pistol or self defence

@Umimugo any SMG can fire a very high rate of fire with a .45cal you need to design the gun to do it though.The Kriss is tailored for the .45cal not a 9mm

The Super V is outstanding, and not many targets can get a .45 cal punch and keep standing just like that, Armor or not.

But.... take a look at the Armor piercing Ammo the VSS Vintorez uses (9x39 SP6 ammo)... 9mm and all, but in an armor piercing config.

If someone did something like that to .45 cal bullets, if the Kriss would shoot armor piercing Ammo like that, it would be the best sub mag in the whole world.

@juanecheyt Or you could just buy a AR-15 and have a more effective weapon on all points. I've shot the Kriss... pretty much all versions of it. Semi, Full-auto, short and long barreled versions. Meh. I wasn't impressed. Sure it stayed on target better then say a thompson but an AR with a good compensator is just as good.

@msiley I dont think you know what you're talking about, AR has nothing to be with the Super V. I own a Scar 16s and even if i love it, I would really love to use a SUPER V for CQB, no questions about that. Maybe it's not so accurate, but who cares, for CQB even a slingshot would hit the target, so you don't need extreme accuracy, just lots of fire power and mobility with fast aquisition!

@PapaleguasTX I never said the Super V had anything to do with an AR. But they serve the same role as evidenced by most SWAT teams using ARs now-a-days for entry instead of MP5s. What I am saying is that there isn't a lot of difference in muzzle rise between the AR and the Super V which is the Super Vs claim to fame (low muzzle rise).

@juanecheyt Actually they can serve the same purpose as evidenced as most SWAT teams have dumped their MP5s for ARs/M4s. Also an AR isn't an assault rifle, it's not a select fire weapon. The role of a weapon is determined mainly by use not by cartridge. The modern SMGs main role is/was for tactical entry and CQB. The AR/M4 has pretty much taken over that role.

they should re-engineer the magazine slot to accommodate a larger/ thicker magazine, which should also be be re-engineered to hold more bullets, probably in a similar fashion to how sure fire has made their new AR-15 magazines
