In the Alliance version, they're simply trying to kill Putress.

Battle for undercity is fun and very easy...You are healed more or less the whole way through..it has a nice quest reward at the end too...I was a bit surpried at what King varian Wrynn does at the end of the quest..we kicked the hordes BUTT..lol alliance ftw...I love my alliance paladin :)

Yea,the ally version is a few mins after thrall starts entering UC. Varian will be outside UC and Valeera and Broll waiting for all the group players then he will do the yells,buffs and proceed into UC where he sees all the dead demons then he will jump into the sewers and eventually lead him to Putress. So the boss for the ally side of this quest is Putress and for horde its Varim.
