  • It's not hard for athletes to run 3.8-3.9 forty's after they are at full speed

  • i can do that if i got was running full speed before the clock started idiot ... smh

  • youre an idiot

  • very scientific

  • Funny thing is the dood behind him actually chases him down.

  • This is silly without the start its not hard at all. Now Terelle Pryor runs the 40 in 4.3 seconds and is the fastest player on the Ohio State football team. U wanna talk fast, talk to him.

  • Watching Louis in High School was fun.

  • dude this is hella stupid. THE HARDEST PART IS THE START UP

  • lol Ickenham , dude are you an idiot?!?!? he was already running dumbshit! lol anyone in college or the pros can do that!!! wht a fuckign retard monkey

  • WOW dude!!! thanks for sharing!!

  • what could noel devine or pat white run if they were already in stride?

  • i just ran my 40 at football practice we did it inside because rain today were maxing out this week

  • NO YOUR TAKIN ABOUT THRE RAIDERS CHIS JIHNSO FUCK THE ONE FROM THE TITANS

  • I love the Huskies and all that, but this is pretty ridiculous.

  • add .5 to their time if they were running before the 40 yard line.

  • Clearly this is just some retarded huskies fan boy that doesnt realize a 40 timed when somebody is already in stride, ever player could run a 4.00 40 if that was the case, so just take this off of her your just embarrassing yourself!

  • He had a running start.

This is a "flying 40" not a 40 yard dash. Not even remotely the same thing.

  • I can do that if you time me after I've already started to stride. No big deal.

  • @MerkabaStar In full pads?

  • @sivret20 the 40 is about acceleration not top speed dog, im pretty sure I could run a 4.0 40 yrd dash if I was already at my max speed and I'm not a college level athlete.

  • They time my 40 with a sundial.

  • @slm1963 hahahhhhaha

  • @slm1963 hahhaha good one

  • i doubt it was "4.0" theres milliseconds in between. and he had a running start so he isnt shit compared to nfl running backs in the combine

  • Without pads and starting from the 3 point stance, I bet Louis could get around a 4.3 . The kid was a beast his Senior year with the Huskies. Finally starting running with authority to go with his SICK cutbacks. So glad the Hawks got him, finally we add some young talent.

  • it was closer to an 18 second 40.

  • By the gameclock he crosses the 40 at 13:46 and crosses the GL just as it turns to 13:42, so it is a 4 sec. 40. However, I believe combine and proday 40 yd times are measured from a standing start.

  • looks like he'll help the seahawks :)

  • god damn.

  • Comment removed

  • well louis is my cousin and i think he did a good job..!!

  • foreal mine to whu isz disz

  • well his dad is my moms brother

  • That's called a flying 40 jackass he never started from standing still he was running the whole time.

  • deon sanders has the fastest time ever recorded at an nfl combine. not to say there have not been faster, but thats the fastest one they have recorded

  • michael bennet owns that title

  • Chris Johnson has the fastest Official NFL Combine 40 ever

  • false, im pretty sure DeAngelo Hall and Randy Moss's 40 times are better, in fact CJ ran a 4.24. DeAngelos was in the 4.18 give or take .02

  • @explodingeggman Chris Johnson is "technically" the fastest player in football because he is the only person who has "officially (which means at the combine, not a pro day)" run a sub 4.3 forty with adjust laser timing, which is what they use at the combine.

  • Chris Johnson is not the only person to officially run a sub 4.3 forty at the combine, idiot. Darren McFadden did it in the same combine Johnson was at.

  • @1ThatOneSportsGuy1

wrong he ran an official 4.33. unofficial 4.27. idiot.

  • yeah bo jackson rand like 4.18 or something and had he gone to the omlypics he probably wouldve won.

  • The fastest player ever timed has been Michael Bennett formerly of the Minnesota Vikings. He almost qualified for the olympics. I think Chris Johnson would have a legit shot at doing so after his 40 last year.

  • actually deion sanders and bo jackson have the fastest times

  • Ok.. I want you to to look up and paste those times buddy.

  • please take this off. ur a huge moron

  • I believe no one can surpass the limit of 4.2-4.1-ish?

I myself am a sophomore in high school and have a 4.8. However, a couple of years ago a guy that was in my school district... as a freshmen he ran a 4.3... Percy Harvin. He now plays for Florida Gators.

  • Running start don't count man. BTW, does anyone know if Bo Jackson really ran a 4.19??!!!

  • 4 second forty in twenty four seconds, nice job camera man

  • You are a fucking idiot. Look at the game clock not the time of the video you stupid ass.

  • *panting* One time i ran a forty in 1.63. now for the rest of my life i am exhausted...well back to running.

  • I run a 3.0 forty. Hhahahahahhahaha jk

  • ur so stupid he has a running start. No explosion.

  • he has a running start dumbasses...and no joey galloway was not faster then deion sanders...deion could run 40's faster then people running backwards

  • i would hope so

  • It is a proven fact that the fastest player ever in pads in college football history was Joey Galloway. NBC Dateline did a special on it. The second was Ted Ginn. And the third was Terry Glenn. Those are facts, retards.

  • Trindon holliday in pads 3.98

  • chris johnson (titans)

    4.2

  • So if he ran a 4.0 40 yard time... does that mean the DB who almost caught him at the end ran a sub 4.0 40?

  • i love how theres i fingers down for everyone.. because this guy feels like a idiot for posting a dumb video lmfao

  • with a running start 4.0 isnt good... reality itd be a 4.8-5

  • That was 4 seconds, the second he landed on the 40 yard line the timer said 13:46

  • he has a running start that 4.0 is not that good with a runing start

  • that was 5 secs but its still fast

  • AHHHHHHHHHH...the runners of Atlantis, Tibet and India were faster than horses.

  • Yea he got a running start... Thats called a flying 40 time, which was only ok

  • and took him over 5 sec

  • 40 time is measured from a stand-still position. I've only seen one person run a sub 4.2 speed and that was Michael Waddell his senior year in high school. He played for UNC, then the titans and recently got cut from the Raiders. Damn fast though

  • vick ran like a 4.22 or something

    he is blazing

  • why does the play clock go from 47 to 45 to 46 to 45 then 44??

  • nah

that othat nigga in red was way faster, almost caught him from behind, which how rankin takes it.

to bad for him, almost had a freebee

  • Don't record what's on the television with a camera... get a fricken capture card or get a tv that can connect directly to your computer.

Don't record the TV if you can't.

  • running start - agree

  • he got a running start

  • running start but still damn fast

  • and the red guy was running faster....

  • orange maybe? lol

  • he was runnin tho

clock him from standin stil prolly a 4.45

  • yea he was on the move before he reached the 40 line. he has to start dead still

  • your fimling that while he is full motion...from him starting from 0 it would be around 4.3 4.4 fast

  • thts still pretty fukin fast

  • louis rankin at the huskies training camp last year ran a timed forty and it was a 4.4 never any faster than that sorry!

  • t-vo!!!!!!

  • A 4.5 forty from a start? No dude, there is no way it takes him 5 seconds to get to full speed, try 4.2 to 4.3

  • you guy's are on some dope if you think this kid runs a 4:5 40 he is a 4:3 guy all day

  • Shoutout to Rankin. He's from my old high school! It was great to see a hometown kid do so well during the Raiders vs. Niners game. I really hope Al Davis signs him and sets him up as the punt returner.

  • He was already up to speed though. From a dead stop in pads, I'm thinking more like the 4.4 to 4.5 range, which is still ludicrous.

  • he never had to accelerate so of course its a4.0 forty yards. from start to stop in a real time forty it would probably be more like 4.55

  • Rankin is damn fast but this is ridiculous.

  • PLUS HAD ALREADY HAD MOMENTUM

  • Ickenham, you're stupid... minus 20 adult points for you buddy

  • that's dumb. that's not a 4.0 forty...

you have to start from rest...

  • your not fast i can beat you

  • thats on demand thats not him

  • Watch the clock LOL oh and I can run a 4 sec forty with a running start LOL.... nice try though

  • RUNNING START??

  • it went from 13:44 to 13:45 thn bk to 13:46 thn bk to 13:45 can u say CHEATTTTTTTTTTTTTERRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • still faster than me

  • Nice try, but this is not a legit timing first of all, second he had a running start. If you gave other players a running start they could probably run a sub 4 second 40. Next.

  • If only I could do that.....

  • 1.) Not exactly automatic timing there.

2.) He had a running start.

That having been said, still very impressive.

  • jamere holland - 4.21 40 time. oregon duck receiver

derrick jones - 4.27 40 time. oregon duck receiver.

theres your two fastest players in the pac, holland is the fastest receiver in the nation. good luck washington

  • 4.21? Are you sure Holland is even human? I can't wait to see the fusky secondary try and keep up with him on week 1.

  • yeah holland's gonna be incredible, just needs to hold on to the ball.

and derrick jones has been dismissed from the team. he's a pothead.

  • yup. 4.21. holland was timed when he first came to camp. derrick jones posted that 4.27 number as well. and i know derrick jones isn't on the oregon team anymore. which sucks because the fuskies would be spinnin in circles watching that speed.

    oregon 45 - washington 17

  • Washington @ Oregon on August 30th, the ducks lost EVERYONE on offense, they will not stand a chance against the dawgs offense, plus our defense has gotten better. Last year your offense was on of the best and Dixon would have won the heisman if he had not gotten hurt, plus with stewart gone youve lost even more. The dawgs will take this game, and I will be their to savor it all. GO DAWGS!!!

  • "Last year your offense was on of the best and Dixon would have won the heisman if he had not gotten hurt, plus with stewart gone youve lost even more."

Sorry, but, I haven't lost anything and I fail to see what UO's offense has to do with my offense. First of all, I don't play for UO. Second, I am not a fan of UO specifically. I seriously doubt that UO's offense will play against UW's at any point in the game. Whether or not "your" defense has improved at all has yet to be seen.

  • watch?v=pIrrhIWZ3sU

  • u dont get a running start when u are being timed for a 40

im not saying hes not fast but hes not The Flash either

  • Its true that Rankin is considered the fastest in the Pac 10 but, its debatable. He is good, but when he plays, he needs to realize he needs to run North and South. He goes to the sides too much and to gain nothing.

  • No! He is not considered the fastest in the pac-10. I posted 2 official 40 times in a previous comment on this video.

    Rankin:4.36

    Darrel Hutsona: 4.33

I know it's not a big difference but it's faster. I'm not saying that Hutsona is the fastest, but he's faster.

  • lol.. if it's so insane whys the defensive back behind him keeping/catching up..

  • Because the DB was hitting him at and angle..........I hate when people who dont even play football criticize football stuff.

  • it doesnt take a football player to figure out angles. but my point was that whether or not he was coming at an angle, he still had to be running as fast/almost as fast to keep up. dont start drama, its just youtube.

  • This is retarded. 4.0 forty with a running start is not that impressive

  • Seeing as Rankin is the fastest kid in the PAC-10, I say it IS impressive.

  • DeSean Jackson ran a 4.3(NOT from a running start) out of high school dude. He would burn this kid.

  • Proof?

  • That's what Rankin runs, so what do you know?

  • Wow it's a running start against SYRACUSE! Also, if you are so sure it's a 4.0 show it in real time.

  • I'm pretty sure that the team you play does not affect your speed.

  • okay thats a given. now argue the running start and the slow motion. and maybe show a timer that displays seconds.

  • Yeah, but even then you have to give him credit for being in pads.

Regardless, he clocked in as the fastest kid in the PAC-10.

  • Rankin's official 40 time: 4.36

    Darrel Hutsona RB WSU: 4.33

Rankin is fast, I'm not arguing that. But he is not the fastest in the PAC. He's not even the fastest running back in the state. He's slower than the WSU 4th string back. If you've got a faster time for Rankin please let me know.

  • Okay, so he was the fastest that anyone cared about.

  • Gee, Syracuse makes you faster? You're bright. And why ask for proof if it's not even impressive?

  • 1) Domes make you faster

    2) Artificial surfaces make you faster

    3) Syracuse's defense was not very impressive

    4) If he were running against a good defense I seriously doubt he would have made it 40 yards

    5) You have to run 40 yards in order to have a 40 yard time

    6) I asked for a 40 time better 4.33 for Rankin (must now be better than 4.21) to prove VHB's claim that Rankin is the fastest in the PAC.

  • domes dont make u faster dumbass

  • 1)Retracted

1.a)Indoor facilities, including domes, provide artificially ideal conditions for physical activities. These artificially ideal conditions allow individuals to perform at artificially high levels.

  • Virtually all of your criticisms are either irrelevant or invalid. Rankin is not, and was not, a great football player. He was not a great running back. He was, however, extremely fast. That's why he got the job in the first place. End of discussion. You can compare numbers all day long, but Rankin has been consistently evaluated at that level. Not all 40-time reports are credible.

  • I can see how you might think some are irrelevant but I defy you to find one that is invalid. You are correct about the credibility of some 40 times but the only time given anywhere here that lacks validation is the 4.0 some are claiming that Rankin posted. As I have already said, Rankin is fast but he's not that fast. The fact that he had the job for no other reason than he was fast brings UW coaching into question. At what level has Rankin been consistantly evaluated?

  • P.S.

If you are going to claim "End of discussion" make it you last statement. Clearly this discussion is not over and you only have yourself to blame.

  • It was the end of the discussion regarding his merits as a runner. At least for me. I'm uninterested in returning to that. I then moved on to discuss the validity of 40 times. See how that works? I know how to write and I know semantics. Don't waste my time as far as that goes. You want to discuss football? Great. Stay focused.

  • Now let's get back on topic. I'll preface this by saying that the only reason I ever commented on this video was in response to those denying that Rankin is notably fast. He is. And that's all I was interested in countering. That said: A) I never claimed or supported the idea that Rankin runs a 4.0 forty. That's just silly. He doesn't. B) It really doesn't bring UW coaching into question. Rankin was our best back (due to his speed and relative experience compared to the young guys).

  • And C) What level has he been consistently evaluated at? The "level" that places you in a general category of elite speed for a college back. I know you're all about the numbers and maybe I haven't made it very clear that I'm not. When your argument hinges on the difference of 0.03, I really couldn't give a shit. It makes no real-world difference. I said he was fast and I'm right. I never said he was the fastest.

  • One last thing to clarify something: My first comment was in response to the guy who claimed DJ, running a 4.3, would "burn" Rankin. It wasn't in response to someone casting doubt on the obviously-false 4.0 forty claim. I can see how that could confuse someone.

  • Alright alright, now it's the end of the discussion :)

  • My issue is not with people claiming that rankin is fast. I have stated that repeatedly. The statement I take issue with is VHB's claim that he is the fastest, which you have agreed is clearly not the case. I couldn't care less about his 40 time to be honest. He is fast but he is a mediocre RB. If you look more closely you will see that I have not responded to your initial comment in response to DJ.

  • My calling UW coaching into question demonstrates an understanding that numbers aren't everything. I attended several UW games this past season and saw many different looks from the offense. The offense was most effective IMO when Homer and Kravitz were in. They are not as fast but do not shy away from contact and help the running game grind away at the D which in turn opens up the pass.

  • Your comments show that we have a similiar viewpoint. Rankin is fast but not the fastest. Those three letters take a true statement and turn it into a false absolute that we both recognize. I have not once claimed that rankin is not fast.

Having said that, good luck to you and your team this season. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the Apple Cup might have some post season implications this year.

  • Indeed. Take care.

  • thats not him thats on demand

  • dats my cousin he fast but i whomp hiz ass on madden

  • i'm sure any "speed" back in the country could run that. it's not like he was starting from a dead stop. you don't get a rolling start at the combine. this isn't nascar. steve slaton would do that in 3 and a half

  • Dunno why someone -1'd this, the guy is right.

    +1 for having common sense.
