Pay more attention and do some research. Listen more closely to Dr. Paul's words. He said slavery could have been stopped without the Civil War. Every other country in the world abolished slavery without war. Besides, the Civil war had very little to do with slavery. Read. It'll do ya brain some good.
He says it was better to pay off the slave owners so people got free legally, without needing to start a Civil War to split the country and end up killing your countrymen.

Unfortunately the south seceded from the Union in fear the Lincoln would abolish slavery. Then they attacked a United States military installation, Fort Sumter. Lincoln freed the slaves well into the Civil War. Slavery was an issue when the constitution was being written. Lincoln preserved the Union enough though the southern sates are still fighting it today.

The states have the right to secede. It is written in the constitution. As for slavery, it was an inefficent way economically and would have been phased out in the South. Ron Paul is often interviewed and financially supported by the so called "9-11 truther" crowd. According to them, Muslims never do anything wrong. They blame all terrorism first on the US, then Israel, the Jews, then blacks. They sound like either stealth Nazis or stealth Klansmen or both. The "9/11 truthers" spend a lot of time commiserating with racial separatists over the plight of Aryans and tax cheats. If Ron Paul lies down with dogs, he gets up with fleas.

Unfortunately the south seceded from the Union in fear the Lincoln would abolish slavery. Then they attacked a United States military installation, Fort Sumter. Lincoln freed the slaves well into the Civil War. Slavery was an issue when the constitution was being written. Lincoln preserved the Union enough though the southern sates are still fighting it today.

Lincoln was a tyrant, he suspended the constitution-habius corpus, locked up newspaper reporters from the north that opposed him, exiled a senate member from Ohio that spoke out about him, ect, ect...History is written by the winners, if Lincoln would have lost the war our history books would have been brutal to the man to say the least.

Educated people should know that Lincoln was not an abolitionist -- he was a non-expansionist. Every educated person should know that slavery had already been peacefully abolished in almost every country years before the civil war began. I was taught this in elementary school for God's (excuse me, Lincoln's) sake.

The states have the right to secede. It is written in the constitution. As for slavery, it was an inefficent way economically and would have been phased out in the South. The states wouldn't have seceded if Lincoln didn't keep up the tariffs on the South. Lincoln was the first neo-con who sees the ends justify the means and will use force to get their way. He also was an isolationist. Anyway, these pundits better get used to saying President Ron Paul.

It is true that as a result of the civil war slavery was abolished. However read some of the things Abe did during his term apart from the civil war for instance his stance on the 1st amendment.

I agree completely with Dr. Paul's comments on The Civil War. He was completely right about the senseless nature of that war. That war, by the way, was not about slavery.... it was about State's rights versus the Federal government's authority to dictate. The action "Honest Abe" took violated the U.S. Constitution and suspended our nation for the first time since it was created.

If you read Lincoln's 1st Inaugural Address you will see that he had no intention of ending slavery but threatened a invasion if the South refused to pay the duties (taxes)! Th war was about money and the political and economic control of the South by the North. We now have a Federal Government that knows no limits and does what ever is pleases!
