  • My totem animal is a lizard - is a symbol of the sun loves to bask in the sun.

Raven is the guardian of secrets

"Its fundamental role in the symbolism of all peoples and all cultures is to be the guardian of secrets. Guarding the secrets of the future and divination. You can see it already in Babylonian mysticism, in which the initiation into the mysteries of the adept, he had to go seven degrees of awareness, in turn, taking the seven names.

  • After being mortally wounded, the Red Branch hero Cuchulain tied himself to a standing stone that he might die on his feet. So great a warrior was he that his enemies dared not approach; they being afraid of his ferocity even when he was near death. Only after a raven alit upon his shoulder did they believe he was dead. Only after this sign from the Morrigan did they approach.

  • Wonderful! Thanks for sharing your creativity. :)

    Best wishes,

    ~ Anindya

  • I live in lake havasu Arizona, I don't know much about ravens, but I see them fluently flying around. I really like this song a lot. thanks

  • Once upon a time a mans close friend died. That day 2 ravens had landed upon the car.The next morning when he'd found out his friend went over the buttermilk falls.Three ravens landed upon the porch again. Stayed awhile an left..

    as if to say goodbye

  • is this a double bore flute your playing? sounds like it..lovely playing here..raven the carrier of magic..awesome bird..very sacred us..i play myself many instruments infact..but the native flute really hits home with the soul, ill never be without one anywhere, anytime at many a fire...

  • I love this! Such excellent music as well. It really adds to the atmosphere! Have you seen the White Raven vid at wildlifegifts on youtube? I think any raven lover would also love that one. Quite rare footage and very spiritual artwork. This collection here is awesome too! I adore Ravens! Nice vid!

  • The Raven is also one of my favorite bird's. =D in all of it's mischief, and somewhat sneaky way's. I have watched and meditate at time's on the Raven. it is highly intelligent, and a messenger of all sort's. such as warning's, caution, awareness, magic, Dream's, and is also a spiritual animal. It is said Raven carry the soul's of witches, or even our Native ancestor's. I am close to Hawk's, Robin's, Seagull's, and finches. But the Raven and Crow are my relatives as well. =)

  • isnt the raven a mischief maker in most native amerrican stories? My grandfathers friend at the sandia pueblos in new mexico use to tell us stories like that after pow wows. I loved the buffalo dances!

  • Ravens are beautiful birds. :) The wolf is my spirit guide. The raven I feel as if it is a cousin to me. :) Ravens were always one of my favorite birds, cute when they are playful to ^^ I love your videos.

  • very calming and relaxing

  • My spirit is the raven...soooo beautiful

  • Good luck on your way. germain crows are come in the morning to visit.

  • They like shiny things. Don't leave your car keys lying around your beach towel.

  • good song but the fuzzy feedback is kind of annoying. :(

  • nice

  • Raven, you keep coming to visit. What have you to say to me?

    thank you, BluesMamaRaven. Magical!

    blessings and wonder,

    CG

  • Lovely! Nicely put together!

Every year me and my friends put on a pow wow. I have learned all the dances nature offers. Flute and drum music is beautiful, and in cold winters that I have here since I moved north have prevented me from holding celebrations in my back yard, and youtube is so awesome for having the music here.

  • Beautiful animals, sky dancers that they are.

How I wish to walk the path so enlightened. Wiccan blooded, and so in love with the world, so in love with all its children. The animals are my brothers and sisters, and the earth is my mother.

  • Exquisite images Thanks

  • crows, magpies, have been observed in a circle going towards the center hunting grasshoppers and the like...very organized and helpful!

  • this goes well w/a wake up dream i had recently...a bird of magic..the dark one bringing forth the light...that which hath wings tells the story....

  • Greetings.....if i may inquire.....would anyone happen to know the meaning of ravens, as an omen?..there is a certain raven that fly's by my window and has perched itself for me to see on a tree and on my balcony...how odd...yet divine

  • The second picture is spectacular.

  • I have always liked crows. Their sense of family and duty to guard the area is to be admired. Nice music. Thanks for sharing.

  • Raven and Crow speak to me, heeding warnings i have yet to learn of their humble and insightful ways. I hesitate because the call of Spaal is to say caution to the wind, that is the message or one of them of the majicker of Spaal:)

  • Ravens usually come to me with warnings, usually they come to stall me in my movements physically, they do speak, last one to visit me that got my attention on purpose, said, do not go yet, i was at a stop sign, an accident occured right after he did his thing, then flew away and Whamo.. I may have been in the road... Thank you Great Spirit, we love you.

  • great pics---and pretty music !

  • In western Canada I had a lot of time spent with Ravens. Here in eastern Canada they are much more shy, but I see more of them.

My dear Raven cousin, I thank you for your wisdom, your grace, and your Medicine. You are my spirit guide. A tobacco sprinkle I leave for you, a dance I do for you. In my dreams you dance for me.

    Peace to you Raven,

    Ohkwa:ri'

  • Exquisite images - even exquisiter music! This is so uplifting, so lovely to watch and listen to! Thanks to you and Niko!

PS - I'm really enjoying your notes about what the different totems mean!

  • BluesMamaRaven,

Thank you for all that you are.

This music is freeing my essence - so moving, so beuatiful...

I'm volunteer for hospice and i play native flute during vigil sometimes. I'm not great at it yet but as you know; heart and soul lift when hearing these - and dimensions connect throughout.

I currently play some single native flutes, one double one and a triple native flute and they are so appreciated.

    I feel blessed...

    Namaste my friend,

    Francisca

  • I just feel so sad, my mother is gone to the other kindom, I hope she stays close to me. She birthed 5 boys some are better than the others. But she loved her children and trusted them, we are used her and didn't take proper care of her.. She was the heart of our family and I hope she knows that! Her name was Michele Lou Neill she is now the Queen of the suns/sons! I will always be her Fire Bird Crow. Im so sorry that I wasn't a better daughter for her. We will meet again and it will be forever!

  • This makes me think of my friends Lizz <D

  • Raven is the Keeper of the Gates of Magic The messenger of the Spirits. No self respecting Shaman or Holy Man/Woman or Medicine Man/woman could function without knowing Raven personally Raven not only brings messages from the Spirit world He carries your messages back to the Spirit world. He is the Keeper of the Knowledge of Spirit and brings this knowledge to an unenlighten people To invite Raven to your dwelling is to bring enlightenment into your life. He is South West on the Medicine Wheel.

  • I quess in some ways Raven is connected to Hermes/Mercury, Papa Legba, and Ganesha. They all have to do with carrying messages, crossing over, and enlightnment.

  • Rooks, crows and RAVENS are one of my favourite birds! They're cunning and naughty!

    I also like hummingbirds!

  • Same with me, and Budgies!

  • wow wonderful animals

  • There are some wonderful legends out there about Ravens. Some that I have found particularly interesting come out of the pacific northwest. As one legends tell it, long ago there was a Raven, a trickster creator, and the giver of great gifts. And, through his mischief, Raven helped put the sun in the sky.

  • Thank you ........Beautiful music and Ravens too......Many Blessings......Bfd

  • Sweet

  • Absolutely breathtaking playing and melody, stunning images...Raven is my totem...Thank you for posting...made my day :-)

  • Wonderful Video

  • Absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much!

  • The whole world wide, every day,

    fly Hugin and Munin;

I worry lest Hugin should fall in flight,

yet more I fear for Munin.

  • Beautiful!

  • Blessing

  • Hauntingly beautiful!

  • nice. so relaxing :)

  • So good!

  • Just beautiful... thank you for sharing.

  • It has been said that; "One Raven is a sign of good luck..but many as group, a sign of bad luck"...

  • I hope not, as I have been feeding them for 26 years now! All I have to do is step outside and call to them, and they come flying in from all directions to be fed! I see them all as good luck! (smile)

  • Cool..I like Ravens too..Is just an old saying..

  • Beautiful!!Relaxing and exciting at the same time.

  • Wonderful Raven! This beauty is perfect for aforementioned subject we spoke about..My spirit soars with you My Friend. Another favorite.

    peace

  • Breathtaking! What more can I say?

    Palamaya ye mitakola!

  • This is great Raven. We see really beautiful

ravens (like you) out here in the Southwest.

    I just love them...

    Beautiful video, love the flute.

    Love, joanie

  • absolutely wonderful...something mysterious about this one, a mysterious beauty.

  • Seen an old crow sitting by the highway, his feathers looked torn and old, like he was an old man...like he was getting white hair, his blk feathers were no longer blk bit turning brown going white...He just sat there on the fence, all tired.

  • I must admit that the original native pow wow music does not appeal me though I like the sounds of drums because it makes me want to stamp with mine feet on the ground. Just like this vid; it makes me want to dance through mine room. I love Tibetan society and bhuddism but feel more connected and at home with the Native American life philosophy.

Mitakuye Oyasin- we are all related.

  • Wow! Great music, awesome, I have no words for it to describe it. Ravens are beautiful mystical birds, our teachers of magic.

Thank you for posting this piece of true art. Rated 5 and saved to favorites.

  • I listened first without the video and so healing and soothing, the flutes and drumming. Then I listened again with the video, oh, so many stunning pictures of ravens!!!!!!!!! I never really noticed them much until now. Thank you!

  • Ravens, crows, old souls.

  • another comment : the spirit of raven is within my blood now! i feel the power! it is rising within me, the ravin has come.........to.........NORTH AMERICA! A.k.a................canada!!! the spirit is too powerful, oh my muffin cakes!

  • the beutiful culture of the spirit bird raven, it makes me feel like rain forests with a nice sprinkle on rainbow

  • It had me in a daze somewhat, just thinking...

  • beautiful song. Raven is my totem, my guide, my teacher of magic. The great raven mother has given one of her children to be used in making of a statue of the raven mother.

  • I love this video! Ravens are my all time favorite animal! They'er so cute!

  • Raven, that was wonderful! I'm always so

    amazed at your wonderful videos.

Love, joanie oh and thank you!

  • Great pictures of the ravens with the music. You can see the raven's individual characters.

  • lovely song!

  • I'm reading that book right now hehe

I read about the "types" of calls but I can't exactly tell... Oh well, yes we should talk some:)

  • Beautiful!

Ravens, some of my closest friends even though I don't know many.

They helped me when I was lost once where I used to live in the forest.

Two just moved into my city a while back to nest! None linve here, just passing way up in the sky

    So it's amazing for me.

I made some videos maybe you could help me learn what their calls are or could tell which is male/female? As I want to put more information as a tribute to my new friends.

    Thanks for this nice video:D

    Josh

  • :p had to watch again..

I know they have different 'languages' but do you know at all about the general types of calls?

  • If you can find it, get "Mind of the Raven" by Bernd Heinrich. Lots of cool info there.

  • Some say ravens are birds of death because they feed off the dead. What I believe is that they are returning the dead flesh and bone back to the living through the cycle of nature, and they return the souls to the sky through their wings.

  • I love that understanding - I had one of my own with regard to being carrion feeders, Ravens move across the void, from here to there - bodies must pass through them as a gateway to move into the other dimensions (however we each define it god/heaven/afterlife/etc that's one aspect I've seen, another is that carrion is a breeding ground for disease - Ravens clear the way for the living. All incredibly cool, don't you think!?! Thanks for listening - Raven~*

  • We feed the local birds regularly with seed and also set out other food scraps for the big corvids- there's a few crows and a couple of ravens that visit us on regularly. Since we've started doing this, our garbage on pickup day has almost never been torn into- it's like they understand if we have food for them, it'll be out in plain sight. Also, if we're late for our normal feeding times, one of the ravens will actually tap on the patio glass if he sees someone inside the house to remind us...

  • How fantastic is that! See I believe that we can all live harmoniously =o) We've done the same thing with skunks in our yard. Since we've begun leaving the scraps for them in the back end of the yard, they leave the garbage (and the dog) alone! I don't think any creature wants to tangle with humans - they just want their needs met like anyone else.

  • There's a young raven, a regular we call Poe, big beak and feet but not that big overall. The other day we had the door to the deck open a few times when some chicken stock was heating on the stove. Soon, he swooped down and stood on the railing, looking at us and bouncing up and down with interest. We put a few pieces of bread soaked in stock out, he just retreated to the nearest tree while I was out and almost immediately he came down and tried to stuff all the bread in his mouth at one time.

  • Any chance of getting Video of Poe? That would be amazing... Let us know. I am sure all the raven lovers would be ecstatic!!! =o)

  • I can try. These guys are pretty camera-shy. I've got a few stills but that's about it. I've got one still of a raven basically trying to stuff about half a loaf of bread into his beak at one time.

  • @althesmith when I'm late to feed the birds - they fly down the street along the car! as far as mutual understanding goes - animals always read the message. (i had problems with fire ants -they were everywhere in kitchen, i start feeding them in back yard and all problems solved. they are with me 2nd yr and they never been back inside house. i feed them so nice... i see rarely scouts surveying, other than that they dont leave mound except to visit feeding post , ..amusing.

  • thx, for posting this... i like the spirituality of the native amerikans. for me it is a way to go back to my own routs, i'am german christ, but in my heart im looking for some celtic spirituality, because i don't believe in our "new" religion. i believe in jesus, but not in the way his knowledge is "abused". i believe in mother natur as the greates intelligenz on this planet. we all are connented- to everything, if we believe or don't...

peace and love to all of us...

  • I felt that when I channeled this music, it comes straight into my heart and spirit when I call for the spirit of the Raven to speak to me. I have never heard it before I played it and recorded it(as you hear it now) and then I deliver it to you. How's that for connected =o) Raven~*

  • Wow this is so beautiful!

My dad is Ojibway so I have a native heart.

The crow and raven are my totems, I can call so many of them and they'll stop flying just to come and see me. I also have many dreams of them including this pure white raven that landed on my head, it was so amazing! I plan on getting a pet grow this summer ... well I'd call it a companion instead of a pet.

When I do I'll post videos.

    Thank you!

  • Thank you so much for listening, You sound like you have an amazing connection with Crows and Ravens - I hope you find a crow that will be your companion - I love to see them interact with their human relations. They AMAZE me...look forward to your videos.

  • That was too gorgeous for words....

  • Very kind of you to say so. Checked your page - you're quite an articulate young lady =o) - Raven~*

  • Oh, thank you so very much!

  • Awesome clip! Ravens are such a beautiful creation. So highly misunderstood by many yet are among the most intelligent of birds. I'm more than happy to throw them a snack whenever I meet them.

  • Sounds like the very best of ideas. In our local small zoo, we have animals that cannot live it the wild due to injury, etc. but many are rehabilitated through their injuries and rereleased into the wild - there is always a cast of Raven characters coming through, it's utterly amazing to meet so many different personalities. I don't get much of an opportunity to meet them in the wild though, I envy you that opportunity. Throw them a snack for me too! Thanks for listening,

    Raven~*

  • So great!

  • Thank you very much, M-B; and thanks for subscribing. I do hope to keep them coming!

  • Native American spirituality is something very close to me... So ancient.

  • I think this spirituality exists in all of us if we reach down deep enough. Thanks for listening! Raven~*

  • I've been trying to find something like this for a long time now.

    thank you so much

  • Thank you for taking the time to let us know that you enjoyed the music, and we're very glad to know you found what you were looking for. =o) We will be adding more Animal Medicine music, so check back.

  • Blessings for True Law and the Return of Truth

  • I love crows and ravens, even magpies. Lots of crows come to the island where I live, but there's always bluejays chasing them and nipping at them.

"I am poor and naked but I am the chief of a nation. We do not want riches but we do want to train our children right. Riches would do us no good. We could not take them with us to the other world. We do not want riches. We want peace and love."

    ~Red Cloud, Oglala Sioux~

  • what does the raven mean?

  • Raven is this kind of bird's name.

  • VERY CALMING STUFF,,,,,i like this tune,,,,,,look up lonesome boatman by finnbar furey,,,,very good irish whistle tune,,,,
