Hi rockingnic28- if you're using the BoostEQ into an already overdriven preamp, you don't have any available headroom left for a boost in volume. If your amp has an effects loop you'll probably get better results there if you are looking to boost the volume of your amp overdrive.

I just try this pedal on my bad cat amp and I don't know why the specs say 16db of boost. I dont ear volume boost only gain boost. It is normal ?
