When I watched it again with my friend, I just couldn't finish it. I went and left it and when I can back to my mate ( when the film ended) he was increderbly tired and was bored and said he never wanted to see it again.
dude really? iron man 2 was much better than spiderman 3. at least there wasn't a scene of tony stark where he put his hair over his eyes and started strutting around to inappropriate music. don cheadle was a disappointing addition.
Greetings, dumbass.. I saw ironman 2 tonight for the frst time. I HATED number 1. This number 2 was great. It was just as good a Spiderman 1. You can say it sucks all you want, but as someone who read the comics.. this was moe like Ironman than the first oe. It was a good movie and something I'm glad I rented.
After the first Spider-man the sequels only got worse. And on the bad guys subject. You mean like Green Goblin? And No movie is worse then Spider-man 3...for real. that movie gave me nightmares...
I agree on the villian in that a revised whiplash was an attempt by the film industry to make a medicore Iron man Villian into more of a powerhouse that he really was. But, i feel I should address the sarcasm you put out there about originality. Well, your want for a bad guy who is bad for the sake of being bad isn't original either. See, Khan of Star Trek, Joker as cited by my collegues here in these boards, or even Lex Luthor of Superman who does it for the power and money....con't
As for you touch on Tony's alcoholism, he does come off as a playboy party animal but I feel it's due to the combination of the real life personality of Robert Downy Jr. trying to portray Tony with executive producers running behind him wanting to make changes. Tony's alcoholism in the comics has the luxury of time to spread out the message of Tony's problems, stress, and impact where as Film only has a couple of hours give or take some minutes and has to try and convey the same message...con't
3) as that the comic books get to pack in. As for your mention of set ups towards Avengers and multiple plots and so forth, well Marvel does this in the comics too, many different issues that touch on a bigger problems and menaces that span a large number of issues, titles, and characters, ie. Civil War, World War Hulks, Secret Invasion, etc, etc. As for your mention of Tony's control freakyness and the way that comes off on screen. Well, technically it's not power it's technology but...con't
4) that's just a minor technicality, I feel Tony's on-screen portrayal as you mentioned to satisfy his ego and control freak tendencies is accurate as Tony's intellect knows that in the wrong hands the Armour will be disasterous and he is the only one who can control this. The different ways he deals with his responsibility that we see on screen i think is very well done, again given the time a film is alloted as opposed toa book or comic. So in conclusion of my side of this debate...
5) I loved the movie but you are correct in that it was not as good as the first but I think you are being a bit too harsh in calling it worse that Spider man 3, not much can be worse than spider man 3. As for you dig at the directors, they don't have it easy, they have to find that right correct balance between action lovers, film lovers, comic lovers otherwise one side or another will get all huffy, so give them a break please, they don't have it easy. Thank you and I enjoy your videos.
@Bloodbirdy Spider-Man 3 was NOT that bad. Why in the hell is everyone saying? Has anyone considered there are even worse comic book movies out there. aka BAtman and Robin. True it wasnt the best nor as good as the other ones that preceded it, but it was most certainly not terrible.
@RisingVictor Arguable Victor the problem lies in that the storylines were a bit rushed and did not give much time to develop. Venom for example was very much changed from the original. HOWEVER, I do agree that it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either, it was......mediocure. very mild and arguably on the same level as Batman & Robin, or Ghost Rider, or the second Fantastic four.
@Bloodbirdy Very well said, but I wouldnt bring up Batman and Robin. That movie was a disaster upon all comic book movies and nearly distroyed the comic movie genre.
Also, I will agree on your point about how the villians in this film don't really serve as a significant threat to the hero. Obidiah Stane was more of a threatening villian then Whiplash because he literally almost killed Tony in the end. Plus, the whole subplot about how he was dealing his weapons behind his back to terrorists showed how ruthless and careless he was as a person. I'm hoping the Mandarin will be more of a ruthless villain, along the lines of Joker: one who pulls no punches.
I will agree that Iron Man 1 was better than Iron Man 2, but it wasn't a bad film, and certainly not worse than Spider-Man 3. I've only seen that film once and its impossible for me to sit through it again, way too drawn out and boring.
If you think about it, most of the marvel movies (with The Avengers members') are a set up for The Avengers. They're putting the member's movies together like a puzzle, which will lead to The Avengers movie.
This is no offense to you but, ARE YOU FUCKING INSANE!? THE MOVIE WAS BEAST! IT HAD GREAT ACTION, A GREAT PLOT, AND GREAT SPECIAL EFFECTS! If you aren't a fan of the comics then I can completely agree, but other words this is the movie all of the comic fans are looking for!
@ShredderJr87 Damn right, some people should just not even declare their opinion cuz it just could very well suck shit. Plus, he just insulted Spider-Man by saying the third one sucks. And yes I know, it didnt do nearly as well as the first two films. But it most certainly not a bad film.
I totally agree. Rarely does one see in a film, a bad guy that is just bad because he/she wants to be. I can say that The Dark Knight kind of pulled this off with the joker. yes, he was insane; but for the most part he was just bad because he felt like it. Then of course that was kind of ruined when Two-face made his apearence. I felt so bad for him that i actually started to hate the good guys at the end of that movie.
This movie wasnt meant to be an accurate copy of the magazine it wasn't meant to be a beautiful work of cinema. It was MEANT to entertain people. I hate it when movie critics overanalyze a movie. "OOO this isn't anything like the first one." "OOH this is nothing compared to The Shawshank Redemption"
i love movies when they drag on they keep you waiting, if it all ended in 1 with all the action it would have ben a 1 time big hit however if u drag it ul enjoy it , its the excitement of waiting for iron man 3 that keep me going.
are you serious? I was looking forward to seeing it, because I liked the first one so much. I haven't even seen the trailer for it. haha.
I agree, I want a bad guy that's just bad. There are plenty of people in the world that are just plain bad people, like 99% of our government, but I'm not getting into that.
Some what like the Joker in batman, right? He's just messed up in the head from watchin his dad murder his mom then cut his face up..
I personally think Iron man is prtrayed like this because it is leading up to the avengers and Marvel is going to make you want to pick Captain Americain as the leader and since Iron man is a possible leader, but they want him to look like a jack ass of the team, well atleast thats what I think
@6383830 I've read so many comics my friend, I know my iron man well enough, I just see bad things happening here, I fear for The Avengers movie if this is what we have to deal with now.
I fell asleep 3 times threw the movie. only thing the woke me up was the fighting, the hot chick doing the acrobatics and the end scene... missed half the movie but I still understood it what was going on. So all that shit I missed must have been pretty useless to the story line. They REALLY don't have any good villains anymore. It's like directors have to go PC and have a reason for a villain to be evil. Fuck it, I agree with you, let the fucker just be evil for the hell of it.
iron man 2 was the same as the first, no fights, too much shitty romance, over used matrix style fight scenes on embarrassing levels, felt like i was watching a drama rather then a action film. laughable end fight. mickey rourke was good when he was young now hes a pudgy understyled version of a michael madsen. robert downey JR is too quirky to be a hero type, can't take him seriously, hes too feminine.
@bmeister316 Iron Man 2 was lackluster. I was bored through most of the movie. The first film hit all the notes it should have hit, and it hit them hard.
