what a story. On these shows you almost always get some obvious comedic stories, or some real drag-on ones with attempted jokes thrown, but never (and i hate to say poignant) do you see just an unhumorous but entertaining ass tale man. good stuff.
A shame he's not casted more often in really demanding roles. I saw him pull off all kinds of roles already, comedy, drama, silent and emo as well as loud and crazy. Loved to see his short scene in Mullholand Drive. Even in those few scenes he is just so competent and all he has to do is feel a bit embarassed and afraid of telling something you really don't want to spell out to someone close to you. And even loses some tears. Hopefully Tarantino will one day bring him back to the big screen.

No, the head injuries do change people. My uncle was in motorcyle wreck (had helmet, but very bad wreck) in 1990. He changed. For years, he had no short term memory, and he went from a stoic witty guy to an emotional person. Now, nearly 20 years later, he's still my uncle of course, sharp and all of that. You wouldn't think he had an accident, but he's not the same. After 18 years, I can't remember the original guy anymore, but I would think the diff would be obvious were both guys here.
It's a shame to see what's become of him. Such a natural entertainer.
