This is an Orthodox Church....In the Monestaries it is strict only and in old Greek Orthodox Churches....but here in the United States as well as Canada this is how our Orthodox Churches are...wheither you are Greek, Bulgarian, Russian, Romanian, Serbian, Armanian, etc....Who told you that they are forbidden and who are you to say that these are Protestant Churches....The Churches that I am a member of are have the Sunday School Kids go around with icons in Church.
