What Raaga is this song? Very subtle and nuanced. Boy, every time I stop to hear this song, I get to play it at least for 20-30 times. Phew. Especially the BGM sequences. What a genius Maestro Ilaiyaraaja!

The roaring group violins with a racing flute sequence in those BGMs, besides the awesome Tabla work on both the charanams make this song very special. Moreover, the starting pallavi line wherein, "Daavani poi selai vandhu, selai thodum velai vandhu, thaavudhadi" comes, that portion alone does some tickle or something in your heart. At least it does for me every time I hear it.

What a great song. Especially the 2nd BGM interlude with flutes and mesmerizing group violins.
