I am a 17 year old photographer from the U.S. I have already begun selling my photography in galleries and have one numerous awards however I still need a DSLR and I know I will need quality glass if I want to grow as a photographer...Does Canon provide any form of payment plans or discounts for students? Because I have a job but I don't make enough to pay for my photography ):
I know you can't but please, please, please tell me when the 5Dmk2's successor is coming out ;-) ?????? My 7D got stolen and this could be the moment to shift to FF, unless there will be a 5Dmk3 in a couple of monts...
@DesIllVis Unfortunately Canon can't comment on product release information but we do update our Facebook and Twitter when any new products are announced, so keep an eye out there.
@willdrill482 Then I'd invest in lenses first and worry about a new body later :) Try an L lens like a 24-105 or a 24-70 :) if you can afford it though, but there are many great lenses to choose from :)
@97purna It does depend on you. We find that most of the time, photographers like yourself invest in lenses and upgrade the body when your skills improve. Cheers, the Canon team.
@97purna At these times, low-budget bodies already perform very well considering resolution, ISO-range and burst, for example the 550D. But the lenses are the things that you really need to take outstanding pictures: The sharper, faster (meaning smaller f-numbers) and contrastier the lenses are, the better. BUT: You get these really pleasing results only with the pricier lenses. So you better invest in a good piece of glass. Hope I could help you.
@97purna Hmm... can you afford to add another 2-300 USD? Because then you can get the 50mm f/1.4, which is a workhorse of a lens compared to the 1.8/1.8 II.. then 70-200 f/4 is a great option. I currently have the IS version of the f/4 and it may not be an f/2.8 IS II, but it does a great job and I'm loving it. But that's a good combination. My body is the 60D and it's great. No regrets with it :) But I'm still saving up for another body. Perhaps a 5D Mark II :)
I have the 60D as my first DSLR. Love it to bits, and the tilt screen is perfect for getting some crazy angles when doing street photog. as well as for film =] Thankyou canon!
Does anybody knw when does the Canon600D/DSLR lowers their price from now INTERNATIONALLY? like is their a possibility they will dropprice usually after/b4 xmas?or when the year Starts or When theyll release a new model?coz im planning to get one & my dad gave me an advice to buy when prices go lower DONT-KNOW-WHEN, and i cant wait to get one like right NOW.
So,if the prices drop does it usually have BIG price drops or the price drop is not that much and i can just buy one this coming weeks?
@TheCoFreshShow I have this camera with the kit lens same as you i got the 50mm f1.8 lens for £70 brilliant lens, My next lens I will be getting is the 75-300mm zoom lens £100 to £150 it looks good. You can get these on eBay hope it helps you.
So I use a 600D with L lenses. I cannot seem to find ANY reason to upgrade to the 7D as far as for image quality. The ISO noise is identical, and the pictures are nearly the same, though VERY slightly different. Why would I want to go to the 7D? I dont really need the magnesium alloy body or weather sealing or 8 frames per second.. So why would i upgrade if the ISO performance is identical?
@kristofferpence Thanks for your comment. We agree, the EOS 600D is a great piece of equipment. The higher range cameras are also more durable, have more features and have more robust autofocus systems, amongst other things. Many thanks, the Canon team.
hi, would like to get a camera good for sports, and i was thinking about the 60d, is that a good choice ? if not, what should i look for ? im interested in a fast autofocus too.
@feliporivera Please visit our website canon.com.au/en-AU/For-You/EOS-Digital-SLR-Cameras for a full range of our cameras. The EOS 60D and the EOS 7D are both good cameras. The higher end cameras are also good for fast autofocus. Cheers, the Canon team.
my first canon will be EOS Rebel T1i DSLR 15.1MP Camera w/2 Lens Kit... It seems to not be in the league with the above..should I just get one of the above?
Hi, thanks for the video! I'm interested in getting the 60d mainly for shooting video. Where would that fit in with these cameras? Thanks for the help.
Hi Canon Australia. I'm currently using a 400d and wanted to do an upgrade. I'm looking at the 7d and 5d markII. The 5d gets my preference, as currently I practically lose the wide angle on my 17-40 f4 L. BUT I hear rumours about a markIII, probably featuring the new AF system used in the 7d...
So would an upgrade to a 5d markII be wise now? Or should I wait for the mark III (next year?) and see the price tag first...
@tmclssns Hey there, we cannot comment on future product releases but do follow us on Facebook or Twitter. Once a product is released, you will hear from us. Many thanks, the Canon team.
1st of all I use £ : Ok I'm looking to get into photography with a DSLR but I don't know where to start theses are my main needs.
Video recording (if applicable) 40 fps+
Long shutter speeds (30 seconds+)
relatively fast shutter speeds
+++++++++++++++++++++++
I'm only earning £15 a week because i'm 13 so I'll probably get a DSLR second hand, I know a fair bit about SLRs as I am using an old SLR (film) with a 200 mm lens.
@16ISMYNUMBER Thanks for your question. Please contact your nearest Canon dealer. They will be able to help you. We are based in Australia and prices might differ slightly. Cheers, the Canon team.
@MrElmokadem omg! please don't ask this kind of question again.. its just like going to mcdonalds and ask them which chicken tastes better? mcdonalds or KFC? btw.. i think 550d or d90 would be a better comparison cause they are near the price range.. go for the 550d.. its newer..or better yet the 600d..it depends on your budget
1000D is an entry level camera but can performes same a professional.. its not in the Bow you handle.. Its the Indian who make a Shot.. peace guys..:-)

i don't know a lot about cameras, but i wish to be a photographer when i leave school (maybe next year) so first thing i want to ask is do these cameras use normal batteries or do you just charge them from a socket? this may look like a stupid/funny question but i have never held one. second does anyone have any tips or share anything a tall with me. thanks :)
@ripper497 these cameras do take specific batteries (my spare cost $60) I believe there is a way to use an AC adapter but that would not be ideal depending on what you wanted to shoot!
i have the ESO 500D, vrey good camera, a professional photographer once told me that, you can have a shit body but have a vrey good lens and the eye of a photograher
im looking for a camera that can take good pictures(where i can blur backgrounds, blurr trffic lights etc), i want it just as a hobby not a profession. im looking for something not too expensive. does any1 have any advice?
@182popeye It has little to do with the camera what your talking about is a lens. A great lens to blur background thats not to expensive is the 50 1.4 it is great for portraiture but if you had a point and shoot the lens wont let you zoom in or out. Another alternative is to go with an everyday lens like the ones listed above and blurring traffic lights will be done by taking the lens off Auto Focus and making the lens out of focus until you get the desired effect
i like canon for the mp and the video but i like nikon for image quailty canon images come out to bright and dull of color right now i have a pentax i like pentax also because u get more for less but i like canon becuse they have better technology
