  • Surprising fact: That's a young Gweneth Paltrow playing Young Wendy :)

  • Comment removed

  • Poor Wendy.

  • this inspires me to write :))

  • julia roberts was damn hot in this film :o

  • so peter pan has a fro =D

  • this movie uses so many of the actual quotes from the book. i love it.

  • best scene of the movie.

  • omg soo sad :( but so pretty :")

  • i read that when it first got released- it got very poor reviews, to the point where Robin Williams didn't even discuss it in his "inside the actors studio" interview! i haven't met a single person who doesn't like this; i think it's excellent x

  • when i red this movie got bad reviews i couldn't believe it, was my favourite movie growing up and even when i saw it recently thought it was still great.

  • The pain of being immortal is having everyone else grow up around you.

  • "I know why I came back, I know why I grew up . . . I wanted to be a father" sure I didnt understand that line when i was kid but now with kids of my own that line gives me chills

  • Theres nothing better than watching movies from when you were a kid, it just gives you a sense of being a kid again with not a worry in a world

  • Such a great movie, this scene was brilliant.

I just love it, how Peter finally remembers his past and finds his happy thought, then he starts flying again.

  • No, No, No, you promised!

  • Wendys expression when he kisses her granddaughter.. "What i wasn't good enough for you?! or even Jane? she was the one to make you give up immortality? Was it the Beetlmania fangirl fibe she gave off in sleep?" lol

  • Mentally he is 5-years old, in the original story. (His mental age varies between the story versions.)

Physically he is 7 to 12 years old. (Varies between the story versions.)

Generally speaking he is many decades/centuries old. (Hinteed in the original book.)

  • Everytime peter would leave neverland he would age a bit. I herd that peter stopped growing up once he hit puberty.

  • (craddles Jack) " I'm a daddy !"

MAKES ME CRY EVERY TIME !

  • This film made me want to cry. It's so sad Peter grew up, and that he didn't end up with Wendy.

  • excelente film, but I dont like this tinkerbell.. im not talk about julia robert as an actrees.. I like her..actually is the character.. .. :s

  • I never understood he said he ran away but he was just a baby in a stroller , maybe tinkerbell took him to neverland without permission cause he couldnt even speak , just my opinion

  • @uubnex4 There's some who say, usually with regard to the books, that Peter and the Lost Boys were a metaphor for babies who had died of cot-death, as a lot of babies did back then. So Neverland was a kind of heaven for dead children. It's not meant to be taken literally. Baby Peter just died.

  • this scene makes me cry every single time :'(

  • Love this bit- it's hard to find a happy thought when you look to your memories and they're so painful and sad

  • @freakygreyeyes, and anyone else who symphathizes with him,

Once you realize that the world IS like this, that man CAN be a hero, that glory IS attainable on this earth, you will no longer cry, you will LAUGH, triumphantly, radiantly, when you watch this.

  • @MrGentlemanly i do say, i must agree fully, I believe there to be alot of good in the world that make the heros

  • Wow, I never thought robin williams could make this work but he did.

This is a childhood classic that is timeless, I swear to god there was times when I almost cried cuz it took me back, all da way when I was a kid and I seen it in theaters

  • I can't why movies are never like this anymore =/

  • sorry to ruin the emotionalness of this but wendys grandkid fucked an old man :/

  • @will201030 Nope, at the time, Peter was only twelve; he never aged at all in Neverland, and the only time he aged were the few hours a year that he picked up Wendy to take her to Neverland.

  • young peter is cute!

  • Best. Movie. Ever. And this is the best scene in the movie. I can't think of a word to describe it, I'm not gonna even try. That feeling when he begins to remember??? And finally it's enough for him to be the Pan again??? Like I said, no word comes to mind. Anyone else think the young Peter is amazingly sexy???

  • I love the music

  • That young peter that you see at 3:30 is actually one of Dustin Hoffman's own children.

  • It Was Tinkerbell's Fault That Peter Remembered That He Loved His Wife And Not Her.

If Tinkerbell Had Shut Her Damn Mouth And Not Showed Him All That Shit For Him To Reminisce Over She Might've Been Able To Seduce Him Into Sleeping With Her.

    What A Moron!

  • @07liberian LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

  • OHHH I HATE CRYING BABIES!!!

  • I like the animation on his shadow at 3:50, it reminds me of the Disney version.

  • Never grow up.

  • @fredtheredmanu also patch adams

  • @fredtheredmanu

I thought bicentennial man was too depressing. Hook counterbalanced the sad with the awesome enough to be a great film.

  • what id give to live in neverland.

  • This movie makes me happy my name is Peter!!! :)))

  • think happy thoughts!! you may fly :P

  • Look closely, the woman playing peter's mum in the flashback is Kirsten Cohen from the OC (Kelly Rohan).

    How bizarre

  • yeah gets me sobbing

  • i love this part of the moovie...when he remembers wendy growing up...it's just too touching!! peter pan is my childhood story, I love it:))

  • if i ever got my own house, a big one which i dream of, i will have the picture of neverland from this film painted on a wall, and have like a hammock on one side, so i can sit there and dream like a lost boy

  • My favorite movie of all time besides The Goonies. After seeing this movie I became a bigger fan of John Williams. A very talented composer. I will always love this movie. It was a part of my childhood.

  • this movie is so awesome, manly tears are always shed in this movie

  • mines too :)

  • In this movie, the part of older Wendy is played by Professor McGonagall ;p

  • such a wonderful movie!

i always have to cry when i watch it.

of course there are still good movies today but its a pity that there arent that "magic" movies anymore =(

  • This is one of the greatest movies ever made and definitely one of Steven Speilberg's best movies.

It is a shame that this movie got negative reviews.

  • @FreakyGreyEyes I'm with you on that buddt, this is a teary eyed movie.

  • @FreakyGreyEyes I just watched it again, totally agree your opinion

  • I meant a great part in the movie..

  • A great in the movie...

  • its funny how gwenneth paltrow plays wendy in this film and they used coldplays clocks for the trailer for the new peter pan film

  • I never cry at movies or anything in general but I always cry at this movie

  • me too

  • @Imawakeitsmorning

I know what you mean, i rarely even feel emotion much less cry, but this movie, i cry like a bitch, especially this scene

  • Pardon my ignorance, what's the connection?

  • ilove thios film

  • this movie is just pure genius

  • the video title has me confused.....peter turns into a frying pan?

  • Wendy is so early Gwenneth

  • I thought the same thing, so I checked on IMDB...It is. : )

  • This movie is so depressing, but I like this scene, because he talks about Wendy. Finally!! (:

  • to Hell with the critics, this movie is an absolute masterpiece. in all the movies i've ever seen, there is nothing more emotional/beautiful/sad as when he says " i remember my mother"

  • at last!!!!!! so i'm not alone!!!! i love this movie too. the opening scenes are haunting and this scene is one of the best i can remember. pure movie magic. and what about that music................LOVE IT

  • the music is untouchable, aside from it's own beauty, the timing of it in the scenes is absolute perfection. the storyline,acting,music...it brings forth so many untraceable memories...

*The funny thing is, aside from this movie, I'm not emotional at all

  • the scene that got me in the movie is, there you are peterr............ that scene there with the lost boys made me cry and go back into my own childhood,

  • @BeautifulMan2009 I absolutely agree. It makes me mist up every time and I'm a 24 year old metalhead, so it's not very often I am moved to tears :P

  • @slugnoid So right dude, I'm with you there.

  • @BeautifulMan2009 The other day I rewatched this movie for the first time in years and I cried throughout most of it. It was just such a rush of nostalgia and love for a simpler time in my life and it brought so many emotions flooding in at once it was hard to keep my cheeks dry for 2 hours.

  • @BeautifulMan2009 You are so right about the critics. All they do is just censure films, and yet they were successful, like Space Jam. If I know one critic who dared to talk bad about this film and others, it's that internet pirate himself, the Nostalgia Critic.

  • always brings a lump to my throat and tear to my eye :(. kive it soo much,

  • the scene of my life

  • When Peter sees Moira, his decision seems rather quick and abrupt. I would assume that maybe they'd have given him some more time to ponder and consider before deciding to kiss her.

Wendy is in a sense, the first actual human that he makes a connection to, and also the example that while he never grows up those around him will and will die.

Maybe it's Wendy's statement of how her children now have children of their own, and that instills Peter's wish to have become a father.

  • le chef d'oeuvre de speilberg

  • That his happy thought is being a father...so beautiful

  • se passage est vraiment triste j'en remplirais un seau ='( snif ..

  • ich auch =)

  • this scene is about growing up...::( I even got tears watching this now, long time ago since last time:(

  • This reminds of the old days:(

miss them, no worries, just good times:(

its such a wonderfull movie, love this movie too

  • This scene is very eye opening indeed. This movie always takes me back a more innocent time

  • I love this film. It's linked to the happiest moment of my life, I can't forget it. I will never forget it. Because we all can remember our best moments. And no one will be able to cancel them...

  • where can i buy the screen used peter pan costume from this movie ?

  • i keep askin the same question too. the only way av found it is on a wax work of robin williams' peter pan. i would so have that costume if it was released

  • such an amazing scene..i cried so much when i was little!

  • Anyone else think the young Peter Pan is really cute? I do! By the way, great scene, my favorite in the movie

  • I Saw this movie when I was a child and this scene has had a big influence on me, it's so poetic. Everything I like in movies looks that.

  • Gweneth Paltrow is Wendy that is so cool!

  • This is such a tender scene. At 6:04 I started crying.

  • the only problem i had was why did peter pan not have an english accent , i mean when he decide to grow up he was raised in london right?

  • apparently he was adopted by American parents...that's what he says when old wendy's trying to get him to remember.

  • stop looking into it so much, robin williams was the perfect part for this film

  • depp woundt have captured the same feeling sorry

  • Interesting that Peter was afraid to grow up yet his happy thought was something that he was able to find by growing up, namely being a father.

  • im not an emotional person but every time i watch this movie i have to fight back tears when he says "i remember my mother" in this scene

  • cheers for the upload...wat a great scene

  • i love this!!

  • this was a beautiful scene

  • i love the song lol

its like YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAH i wana fuckin fly

  • im exactly the same!!!

  • God dammit, this shit is hella sad!

    Damn you robin williams!

    ....You truly are the man.

  • 5:09 I never noticed that bit when I saw the film when I was younger - "A Hard Days Night" written on the poster behind the bed and the picture of The Beatles until now - although I was really young when I saw this film - about 8 years old or so - i think before I had even heard of them.

  • ya i know!! but it dose give the movie a little bit of a time line dont ya think good call by the whay!!

  • hahahah A HArd Days Night Poster!... awesome Awesome

  • this part always brings a tire to eye didnt have such a good childhood cant remember a lot of it

  • I tried posting a video response, but I`m not sure it went through.

    You can look it up.

It`s called The Van Ginkel Boys.

At the 1:05 mark of that video, it shows my son Matty as a 15 year old.

Matty played Baby Peter in this scene.

We have a dog named Taddy, that looked exactly like the teddy bear when he was a puppy. :)

  • Ps. Don`t get confused by the video.

I have five sons, and Matty is the second oldest.

The oldest real name is Peter (He had the part as the Young Peter, but they gave it to Dustin Hoffman`s son. He did get in the opening scene, sitting on someones lap right behind Robin Williams at the school play).

Jake is the middle son(look up his videos!), Luke is the 4th and Josh is the 5th.

  • That's crazy! Your son has a distinction shared only by the kid on the cover of Nirvana Nevermind.

  • What is Nirvana Nevermind?

  • I just watched this on DVD I am gonna see about buying it this part brings back memories it made me cry it was soo awesome!

  • god... so beautiful... john williams is amazing.

  • did anybody notice that he said he decided to

run away when he was only like one :|

  • it looks kind of weird in this picture because when he said he decided to run away, it looked more like the wind blew him away in that cart.

  • Maybe the fairies picked up on his feelings and decided to send a favourable gust of wind his way.

  • how come the audio is crap? This is my favourite scene, and its totally making it crap

    FIX IT!

  • fix your computer first, because i heard it perfectly

  • @kermit88 no it sounded crap on my new computer so must be yours

  • @wonkacorp /watch?v=nILFJkdW4RQ

    epic

  • The young peter pan is creepy, I like the one Jeremy Sumpter better XD.

  • You've never had your heart broken I take it. Sometimes you just have to move on.

  • And can't anyone else fly, they know how to, like those other kids in the first movie.

  • I'll never agree with Peter growing up simply because I can never quite picture it. Peter for me will always like the wind be eternal and forever more. I can see him in the eyes of children, and grown ups who never took that last step into adult hood...like me :) Bravo Steven but all my thanks goes to James Barrie. After all he shared the adventure with us :)

  • That's sort of the point - the idea of Peter Pan growing up is an incredibly severe abandonment by Peter of who he once was. Which is where the emotion comes from.

  • The teenage Peter's pretty hot, I wouldn't mind if he kissed me(: but my grandma better not stop him =P

  • Wendy sounds liek a 24 year old lady!

  • possibly one of my favourite childhood films of all time!!! this scene is so full of emotion and memories i love it!!! Peter Pan is one of the greatest stories ever created - see Finding Neverland!!!

  • chilhood and adulthood for me ^^

There isn't any word without sense on the dialog.

    See u

  • "theyd forgotten me".

  • uwaaaahhhhhh I love this peer and the other peter (played by jeremy sumpter) they are just soooooooo CUTEEE

  • That's one of the old movies I saw as a child, where I thought it was a beautiful dream :)

  • Hook, a wonderful movie !!

  • I can't stop crying :(

  • Hi there,

I am the voice-over artist that did the voice of Peter Pans British Mother in this clip - I am also the voice of JEM from the cartoon series JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS - I just posted a bunch of video's for my debut album come by and say hi and let me know what you think

    cheers

    Samantha :-)

  • you know what i'm going to tell you.. you know what do I think about that... Thanks for all, thanks for your voice

  • Dear Samantha, Thank you for your voice. Hook is one of my favorite childhood movies. I first saw it when I was six. I'm twenty-one now and I've always remembered the voice of Peter Pan's mother. It's one of my favorite parts of the movie. Your voice is so soothing and beautiful, it's like something I'd listen to in a dream. You made Hook that much more magical for me and many others. Again, thank you. God Bless~

  • Is Peter really Pete Pan- or is the whole Neveland thing supposed to be a dream?

  • he realy is peter pan

  • After Peter kisses moira that's when he forgets all about Neverland.

  • that's not necessarily true. he promised the lost boys he would never forget them this time at the part before that.

  • spawnoftheshred: I think Spyro is refering to the kiss he gave her in the flashback.

  • je trouve que quand même il y a + d'emotion dans les paroles française si quelqu'un pouvais mettre la meme video version française merci

  • que de beaux souvenir :) j'aime beacoup la musique

  • merci, j'adore aussi la musique (John Williams)

  • sorry i meant

'did not come to find him'. peter disliked mothers because they found children replace-able. something that it is debatable barrie believed in himself

  • he didn't run away as a baby, in the book 'kensington gardens' it appears to suggest that peter was 'abandoned' by his mother and found by the faires. this lead to his dislike of his mother, who did come to find him. barrie wrote the book and it goes into details on his earlier years as a child.

  • The bit that confuses me about this scene is the fact that he ran away when he was just a baby - unable to walk never mind run??! and then Tink saved him while he was lying in the middle of the street.

  • If you're watching a movie about Peter Pan for it to be realistic, then you're retarded. The point of this movie is to remind people to use their imagination.

  • Lol fair point - I was just saying no matter how serious a movie or how imaginative..a baby lying in the street would attract some..just some attention lol it's one of my fav films but this bit jsut always buggged me that's all.

  • I think thats how its always been, Peter taken to Neverland as a baby I mean. Both in the book and this film.

  • Hold that happy thought peter! I love that bit where he flies. I watched it everyday as a kid too. I saw it on Five last night for first time in years! What a film

  • I was probably watching the same thing. Lol. I don't remember the channel but I got directtv. Lol.

  • Peter Pan as a baby is MY son.

  • The best peter pan story ever

  • Cool!

    I`m glad I found this.

Baby Peter is my son, Matty, who is now a Senior in high school.

  • @angels4acure Wow! That is pretty cool! How did he get the role in this movie?

  • I remember how I used to cry on that part of the movie... and I still do ! It is so touching !

  • me too! the first time I saw this movie and I watched this scene, I was in tears the whole time!

  • this part makes me cry each time... "i was afraid to grow up.. become everyone that grows up needs to die some day..." true and sad :(

  • i agree with u completely

  • I love this scene. I get goosebumps when Pan says "...I remember my mother."
