  • love you guys' films. best quality and filming i've ever seen of any wheeling video, period. if you guy's ever make it back to CO i'd love to wheel sometime....just hope you're open to having fullsize bronco's around..... :-)

  • Nice sacrifice for the wrench -_-

  • Best video editing/filming by far. GREAT job! :D its #AWAYOFLIFE !!! Project-JK ROCKS ;)

  • @DelilaahhCx thank you :)

  • Love it. I just keep coming back and watching your vids. Cindy we might never see you but you rock Girl.

  • @syzfilms LOL! thank you.

  • time for some 60's

  • @MonsterDUBNasty he's got em now ;)

  • @wayalife nice with RCV shafts or no

  • @MonsterDUBNasty rcv's are real nice and i've run them in the past. however, i don't know if they're really worth the extra chunk of change. if it were me, i would just get a set of standard chromoly shafts as they come with full circle clips and then, use the savings to get a set of prosteer ball joints or something.

  • @wayalife yeah true, just wondering.

  • Wow!!! thanks!! My jeep should be here in a few weeks, can't wait!

  • You make some of the best videos I have ever seen. Love all the footage and you hit some amazing trails! Keep up the great work..your an inspiration to us all!

  • @Toofastkidd thank you for the kind words, we're so glad to hear you like our videos.

  • So do you have to bring the whole axle in to Sears to get new wrenches?

  • love that you were so prepared i was thinking welder just before you broke it out. great job even with the less experienced.

  • Good video, I love rubicon 76CJ-5

  • i wanna go with you guys one day!!

  • thankyou for not puttin some country ass music.

  • LMAO! Dude brought a welder! that's like bringing an atomic bomb to a squirt-gun fight. If this guys is breaking Dana 44's (Chrysler's crappy version) it's probably time to upgrade to a Dana 60. Shorten that baby up and install it. Probably a WHOLE lot cheaper than a Dana 44.

  • so wat would u guys choose for trail riding especially the rubicon a Manual or automatic tranny?

  • @TheSadsax i have a manual but an auto is always easier to wheel.

  • @wayalife auto=easy manual=fun

  • thats it... im buying a jeep :D

  • I have a FJ cruiser TRD edition with a 3" lift wonder if i would be able to do this trail? looks awesome

  • @JustThatGuy716 you can do it but it will be really hard without significant risk of body damage. a solid front axle conversion would make it a lot easier.

  • This filmmaker deserves an award. As a new Jeep owner I can't tell you how much I enjoyed these videos. I must have watched the series at least 4 times by now and the entertainment does not cease.

    Thanks for this.

  • Love these vids. What about my stock WJ doing the Rubicon? Have any stock vehicles ever done the trail?

  • @Christarboton i suppose anything is possible if you're willing to take on damage. i've seen stock JK's go through but, it's hard work and a lot of strapping was needed.

  • @Christarboton I have a 97 TJ with 35-13.5-15 skided top to bottom and I beat the hell out of it!!! I also have a 95 grand (zj) and I would NOT take it with out at least 33`s and lot`s of skids and you can still exspect some damage!!

  • do i have to be in a jeep to drive the rubicon trail? i've got a lada niva on 33" tires (soon to be on 35") with ridiculously long coil springs and i really want to drive it over the rubicon trail

  • @19emmi94 you can drive whatever you want and, for what it's worth, things like toyotas out number jeeps 10 to 1 on a busy weekend.

  • @wayalife sweet, btw, how would you think it would do? here are pics of one similiar: vdo.is/textus/breytingar/lada/index.html

  • I can't believe that nearly stock TJ made it though to the end. I wonder what the damage on it was.

  • @InvertChaos3 stock TJ's are much smaller and narrower and they can wiggle their way around obstacles whereas a big 4-door JK will have to tackle them.

  • How would a stock Sahara with 35"s and a 3"lift do here? (2 door)

  • @EchoShotz it would do just fine and we've had several people with that exact setup do the run with us.

  • This video makes me wanna get a jeep :D

  • Spectacular videos. Inyo - way to go lady! : )

  • Very Nice work!

  • time to build your own axle housing

  • wayalife, you are the best youtuber ever.

  • i feel like i just took a vacation of a lifetime watching this 3-part vid. i can only imagine taking that voyage myself. i think the rubicon trail just made it to my bucketlist

  • Awesome video!!! Nice work.....

  • so what happened with the axle, did he just run it in 2x4 till it was fixed or did it not harm the acctual axle

  • @UNENCUMBERED1 the shafts were fine and was able to make it the rest of the way out in 4wd

  • @wayalife nice, im workin on geting a jeep right now (im 16 in a week) been driving since i was little though, which one is best for me, good on gasish and insurance, good offroad if such a thing exists what would it be

  • @UNENCUMBERED1 i guess it all depends on how much you can afford to spend

  • @UNENCUMBERED1 I doubt you'll be able to afford a newer one brah, but an older one is just as good. I'm 17 and am looking at getting one as my first "car" and i have a limited budget. Look on ebay at the YJ's and the TJ's, you can find those for under $5k and i think the AMC straight 4 is the best on gas, but can still get you where you need to go

  • @psychoclown420 ya i already know that, i already have a car but i want to know specifically gas millage on like 33 inch tires with like a 91 yj or sum like that, how much is insurance, things like that. i have to have insurance less than $150 per month, i need specifics. and craigslist is the way to go ebay is horibble, thanks for tryin to help tho

  • Watching all three parts, and it's really making me want a Rubicon :D I want to be able to go on rides like this, and have an overall good time!

  • can someone please tell me where i can get hold of a rubicon??? and price range??? UK please. Love these vids :) cheers

  • @Obraxes You can buy a used Rubicon in the UK. They sold a handful over here. I have heard there is (or at least was until Fiat took over, I'm not sure) a facility for a UK dealer to special order one from the US but not many know about that...

  • Looks like sooooooooooooooo much fun. This is my new #1 on the bucket list. Tremendous videos

  • The complete serie of the three videos is excellent, the best video of jeep I have seen, congratulations.

Do you think that a 4 doors Jeep Sahara can do this trail wiht bigger tires that the one that bring from factory?

  • @daxroman you can practially do it stock but, you'd really want to get rocker guards and have someone along with you to help out. otherwise, 2.5" and 35" will take you a long way.

  • The part that made me laugh the most is in the credits when it's showing everyone's name and then it just says "Canadians". I laughed and said "Eh?"

  • hey would my lamborghini do this

  • do you guys think I need better axles? maybe the Ford 8.8 rear?

my buddies are trying to talk me into a Dana 60 front and a 14 bolt rear

however then I would need to be running AT least 35s, maybe more like 38s

I figure I would just leave then full width if I did

  • you guys have inspired me... thank you... I need to prepare... right now I have a 96 Jeep XJ 4.0HO auto, d30/c8.25 open/open 3.55 gears, metric 33's, fender trimming, 3" lift, homemade swaybar disco, front/rear snatch points, homemade high clearance rear bump, trail modded front bump... rear sway bar removed, exhaust shortened

plans, 4.5" relocating the shackle for better flex, installing JK front control arms w/ homemade mounts, lockers front/rear, homemade rear swing out tire carrier

  • thats badass, you just fixed that shit right there, like a boss.

  • I think I got wood watching these! Best jeep videos I've seen yet, and I've searched a bunch. Sounds like you got a good bunch of guys, with good souls. Two more years of grad school then my Rubicon awaits. Hopefully they'll have the Pentastar by then...or hopefully the diesel!

  • best jeep videos i've seen yet, i just watched all 3 parts and i wish there was more! I'm doing the jeeper jamboree and i hope i can have half as much fun as your group did. the thing im most afraid of is breaking stuff. Like that axle, if something like that happened to me I'd probably have to sell the jeep for parts, there's no way i could afford to fix that.

Is there an advice you could give me before i hit the trail?

  • @pissofff1 if you're running the rubicon with the jeepers jamboree, you'll be fine as they have 2 repair stations, one at buck island lake and one at rubicon springs. they will fix you up for free but with hopes of a tip. if you need parts, they can have some flown in by helicopter and you'll only need to pay for the parts. for this, it's worth the price of the trip with them.

  • this is by far the best JK video i have seen!

  • @1021raul thank you

  • awesome video beautiful area after i get another jeep again ill have to head out that way

  • incredible videos guys..

besides the jeep. the trail , the trip i love how you cooparate with each other and how you helped the NON-modyfied hehe

the best Jeep videos on youtube imo.

    kisses from Greece :)

  • Nicely made videos, good wheeling!

  • how long did that axle repair take?

  • @spiker84 maybe 2-3 hours. spent most of our time trying to get everything lined up just right and held in place as good as possible. not easy to do with just portable jacks on uneven ground and a few ratchet straps.

  • Awesome vid, thanks! Love the in field axle repair.

  • Just finished watching all the 3 episodes, great video! thank you

  • yeah!! the jeep TJ FTW!!!

  • Inspirational offroading... thats the best way i can put it. Too bad i have a vw....

  • One of the best Jeep videos I have seen.

  • @TheCaneArtist thank you :)

  • best 30 mins ive spent on you tube!

wish i could have participated in a trip like this. Now im left here at 11pm in Sydney Australia wanting to go wheelin in my JK.

kind of got me worried after seeing that rubicon break his housing. I got 37s on a tricked up D30. havent broken anything yet but when I do ill be getting something like a dynatrac 44

    again great video

    thanks for sharing

  • @gregkotz thank you, we're so glad that you enjoyed it :)

  • i never see vids of land rovers doing off roading like this, it seems like they mostly stay off the rocks

  • hey, whatever works is good. anything except getting towed out. I saw that once, a guy burned up his clutch and his buddies were towing him out.IT WAS NOT PRETTY!

THE ONLY OTHER OPTION IS PULL TO THE SIDE AND PUT A 4SALE SIGN ON IT.

  • CAN'T STOP WATCHING. AND WHY IN THE FUCK DO I WAN'T A JEEP NOW. =0(.....

DAMNNNNNIT STOP MAKING AWESOME JEEP VIDEOS. =0) HA HA HA HA.....

I'm going to go wheelin with yall guys one day, the crusher is gonna have a blast rollin with yall jeeps.

  • Keep´em coming, darn good shows!! Thanks for shearing.

  • @c3foto we're glad that you enjoyed our videos and are working on more videos all the time :)

  • Kickass trail repair....wtf JK axle tubes!! Time for the sleeve.

  • @cr006f if you play hard on the trail, yes, sleeves are good insurance to have.

  • hows the water proofing on the bottom of the jeep? like i see the drain plugs. do they seep in water at all?

  • @redbulljoker so long as the plugs stay in place, the water proofing is fine. i have only had the rear storage compartment where the jack is take in a bit of water after the plug worked itself out of place.

  • hey waylife, I know dynatrac offers different options on which lockers to run. Im curious which did you use for your axles?? Awesome jeep by the way, yours is by far the nicest jk ive seen or wrangler for that matter! Sweet looking and very capable. ALso I think I saw you on the 21st, you were in traffic jam on the 5N. I was coming back home (5S) from hungry valley in a WJ.

  • @BLStrevino i'm a fan of ARB's as they are quick and strong. needless to say, that's what we went with. as far as seeing us goes, we were actually up in washington during that time and more than likely, you saw our good friend trail bud - his JK looks just like ours :)

  • i was thinking at :20 thats the perfect time to have a welder with them............. 1:05 wow they have a welder lol

  • @Firefighter1271 LOL!! trust me, we're so glad to have it too and have used it on many occasions.

  • @wayalife yeah im sure great trucks hey keep up the great work hope to c new vids soon

  • Stuck here in NJ but I'll get out there one day.

  • god you guys are very lucky with nature i wish we had the same here in UAE , we got only the desert lol , very nice video and good luck .

  • Killer Video! Makes me want to load up the Jeep and drive cross country to wheel that trail!

  • @sstrawsburg if you could, i can guarantee that you would love it :)

  • When I'm not wheeling, I'm usually watching your vids lol. I love your, never leave anybody behind, mentality. Great stuff. Btw, is this Eddie?

  • @foolsonparade LOL!! glad to hear you like our videos and yes, i am eddie.

  • @wayalife Okay, yeah my buddy ended up wheeling a little bit with you guys last ejs.

  • is it only a jeep trail, or can other vehicles go on it if they are set up correctly?

  • @rcfreak363 any vehicle can run this trail so long as it's equipped to do so. in fact, old toyota pick-ups dominate this trail over jeeps 10 to 1.

  • wow never seen a weld job like that lol =D nice one

  • @xXxLokiDriftxXx LOL!! on the rubicon, you do what you need to do :)

  • @wayalife Had the guy who snapped his axle housing upgraded with the inner sleeves? Or was it stock?

  • @surfdogdude no - it was just a stock axle with no sleeves. inner sleeves are good to have - don't waste your money on outer

  • That snapped axle looked pretty nasty. Great video!

  • @blackdog6 thanks :)

  • @wayalife Cool vid: Did the guy who broke his axle housing have the upgrade with the internal sleeves and Reinforced Gussets? Or was it stock?

  • 3 of the JK's you see including mine are running off road evolution long arms with their coil over system. 2 others are running off road evolution coil overs with teraflex control arms and most of the other are running teraflex kits and full traction kits.

  • Which lift kits are most you running? I just got my JK and can't decide which kid to go with. Thanks

  • Amazing job on this series of videos. The lil lady has some talent with the editing. We are plotting an east coast run out there in the near future. This is some killer motivation.

  • adda way TJ gettin in there!! playin with the big boys!! great video. happy wheeling ladies and gentleman.

  • did u see that tj sahara make it look easy

  • @JEEPoffroad2004 the TJ is a much smaller in terms of length and width. the rubicon is just made for small jeeps like this.

  • @wayalife ohh i noticed that and how many hours or days did it take to do all of rubicon

  • @JEEPoffroad2004 most people do it in 3 days but we did it in 2. the fastest we've done it is 8 hours.

  • Excellent video, this is the Jeep spirit,

    greetings from Portugal

  • @ChupaCabras1972 outstanding!! glad to hear from our jeeping brothers around the world :)

  • love the vids ...one q ...wats wit tht bag thts always there off the tire carrier

  • @jeepcummins721 trash back - we use it to haul out crap that other jerks leave on the trail.

  • @wayalife nice

  • Wow Eddie. Great stuff. Congrats on this and the JK mobile app. -idranoelac

  • @caleonardi thanks and glad you like the app :)

  • what is the ratio of drivers who drove manual / auto?

  • @killerkrk we had 12 JK's join us this run and of them, 3 were manuals (including ours) and the rest were autos.

  • @wayalife thanks for quick response and great video!!!

  • Your three videos were fantistic!

  • @jfg1517 thank you - we're glad you liked them :)

  • man, ive been watchin ur videos for a while now. there great just wish there were places like that were im from its just mud, i hate mud!

  • @stonewhitejk we're glad that you enjoy our videos :)

  • jw about how much did you spend to make your jk the way it is now

  • Great vid guys and gals. Can't wait to get back out West and get some sort of 4x4. Do you have an vids of the modifications?

  • Best JK Vids, you guys should go out with more types of JEEPs sometime. I wish i could get enough money to be able to do this stuff with my JK, it looks so much fun

  • @airburt13 well, we did have one TJ in this video ;-) most of the jeeps in our videos are JK's because that is the central focus of Project-JK.

  • Comment removed

  • Welding on the trail?!?! That is crazy prepared lol. You always put out the best Jeep vids. Again, nicely done

  • @cpierson22 LOL!! we're only crazy prepared now because of all the times in the past that we weren't ;-) glad you enjoyed the video

  • wooooww very nice video! awesome!

  • @davidFj4wd thank you :)

  • awesome

  • @jared2235 thank you

  • Think a '92 YJ can make the Rubicon Trail?

  • @xLopez210x depending on what all it's got, of course it can make it. bone stock? i doubt it.

  • @xLopez210x square headlights are restricted by state law

  • @alexrex20 LOL!! hey, our XJ has square headlights ;-)

  • @wayalife hehe. if your XJ is built anywhere close to your JK, then it's exempt. got a link/pics to your XJ?

  • @alexrex20 unfortunately, this is our 2nd XJ and it's still bone stock right now. gotta get to work on it :)

  • @alexrex20 Show me this supposed law... I'm calling shinanigans

  • I remember when it was Jeep policy that every Jeep produced needed to be able to run the Rubicon trail...sigh. makes me wish all Jeeps were as capable as the JK….

  • @tozovr for sure the JK is the most capable off road vehicle i've owned. i am pretty sure that any of the newer models that have the trail rated badge had been dragged through the rubicon. i know that the old KJ liberty has been dragged through :)

  • @wayalife

Even in the late 90's every jeep had to be able to run it. Now they cop out with trail rated. I know the KJs are unreal, but the Compass, Commander, Patriot and new Libby...sad. :)

  • Why doesn't it allow playback on I Phone?

  • @thomaswb apparently one of the tracks is blocked in germany and so youtube has blocked it from playing on mobile devices. sorry.

  • I was working in the Reno and Placerville areas in 2009 and checked out Lake Tahoe while I was there. I had no idea the Rubicon was right there! Awesome Video! On our Jeep trip to Drummond Island, MI, we came across a British couple that needed some help with their Jeep. Glad to know you not only can depend on a jeep, but jeepers too!

  • @ilflyya awe man, you were right there. well, if you're ever in the area again, you should make the effort to run the rubicon :)

  • loved it... really very good production.

  • I would come but im only in high school. I dont have a jk but i got a xj with 6inch la flat flares and 33s. My parents have a jk

  • @chuber13 LOL!! so long as you have tow points front and rear and rocker guards, you could still do it :)

  • @wayalife I'm working on the guards haha

  • you guys have some really good videos and by the looks of it a great time. I would like to ride with you all someday. I'm going to try and make it out west this next summer.

  • @zeddjb a great time? does it really show that much? ;-) seriously, if you can join us, you should.

  • Looked like an amazing time, Im very jealous. :)

    College life is boring.. lol

  • @9whittman9 LOL!! i am so glad that i'm not in college anymore :)

  • Congrats to everyone!! To who ever put this video together You did and amazing job! since I have experience with video I can tell you that a GOOD JOB!!! In the other hand, To the people that experience that trip, You guys will have many memories of this trip for the rest of your life especially the "the canadians" LOL

  • Loved all 3 videos. Cant wait to go on one of those trips. Loved how they was saying each persons JK forum names i assume .Then at the end just said The Canadians. I guess that would have been what they called me as well.

    Great trip guys

    Cheers
