  • i went there yesterday. they're rich irish people(most of them). they can handle it

  • The handsome man interviewed ... is a hunk! call me!

  • the tornadoe in Taylorsville, near Cartersville, was far far far far worse than that little piss-ant tornady in downtown Atlanta. True ef-4 devastation.

  • it's not about hot big it was, how much it destroyed or how many people it did or did not kill. the fact of the matter is that it happened, and people's lives were affected.

    why the arrogance?

  • this is about the lady killed in Polk County. She was a dog breeder (terriers). Sadly, about 30 dogs were strewn across the pastures

  • Who can tell me the artist singing the Agnus Dei in the background. Incredible song!

  • Sounds like Rufus Wainright (wainwright?)

  • im glad u like my vidz too

  • this is a little melodramtic for my taste. nobody died. the ghosts of a mill town are maddened at the gentrification and newfound trendiness of where they sewed cotton for slave-labor wages. they already tried to burn this thing down. i live there, and i'm gettin' out. the largest earthquake in georgias history will have its epicenter at 170 Boulevard. quit with the end-of-days rufus anthem. oh...and a herbie curbie is a trash can.

  • is this were the cabbage patch kids come from?

  • what is the song on here

  • iiiiiiiii

  • ok, what the heck is a hurby-curby???? And how do I know if I'm spelling it correctly??

  • A herbie-curbie is what the city of Atlanta calls the green trash bins everyone is issued. It is funny sounding. And the guy's right - friday was trash day in C-Town, and being empty, they did fly up and down the street like large green missiles during the storm.

  • Thanks for enlightening the rest of us that didn't have the faintest idea what he was talking about.

  • Hey uh so what's the song called?

  • I live in Georgia near Atlanta everyone around us had to get under cover but luckily nothing ever hit around us. We were lucky i feel so bad for those people. :(

  • the name itself caught me!

  • what's the "hurby curby" that guy keeps talking about?

  • hick speak for trash can or something.

  • if she'd preyed for her neighbour aswell his car might still be ok.............oh god does move in mysterious ways, he's a tricky little kritter...

  • There's nothing mysterious about him. He kills thousands for his own personal amusement.

  • I was supposed to fly out to Atlanta and they cancelled the flight due to bad weather. About 15 minutes after they cancelled the flight they told us there was a tornado that went through Atlanta. Being from the west I was expecting the ENTIRE CITY to be gone.

  • I am sorry for your sister lost Sthernguy1 and hope she all right Thats what count she did;nt get hurt or anyone eles you can replace things but not a life

  • She is fine and the house can actually be repaired. Thanks to everyone in her neighborhood and the support of friends, she is doing great.

  • what continent is georgia in?

  • really cool video

really righteous dude too saying "we could be in Darfur, so..."

strengthens my faith and hope for us all...

and made me think of Obama's speech too... that we're all not so different right? thanks

  • I looked at buying the house right at the beginning several years ago when I lived in Atlanta...It's a great neighborhood and I'm glad everyone is OK.

  • damn, i was on my way to the club, you know ATLiens will stop at nothing to club. Well, We got caught DOWNTOWN in the storm and some ppl were like 'are we going home?' I was like damn y'all, busted a u-e in the middle of the road, hopped on I-20 and took my happy ass home. it was scary. shit was falling everywhere.

  • People who say "Praise God" are so pathetic. God had nothing to do with it. Idiots.

What makes you think that God cares for you more than your neighbor, and they have kids? Get control of your life and quit using God as a reason for your stupidity. You control that too!

  • YOUTUBE can't you do better than that?

This is just as weak as the Last letter home thing, that crap doesn't deserve to be on the main page!

  • who sings this song?

  • i lost my cap in a tornado one

  • I watched this for the first time yesterday. I said it was good but not good enough to be featured. After seeing it again I may have underestimated the powerfulness of this.

  • Comment removed

  • just eat some cabbage and call it a day.

  • reminds me of tasmania

  • I thought it said cabbagtown tomato.

  • vote Hillary!

  • DO ya think that maybe weather feeds off peoples moods? Does survival depend on faith in something better? Cabbage Town is a great name, very Mark Twain.

  • lol cabbagetown

  • Looks like any downtown area of a typical USA city, except its a bit cleaner

  • i like the name cabbage town

nao i must hurry b4 the maintenance

  • why do they film it like it's some place in africa where people are starving, even with the music...

  • Praise god. He sent the tornado.

  • You read my mind

  • CABBAGE Town can RISE UP!.. imagine what it used to be... and what it became.. always believe!..

  • I live a few blocks from Cabbage Towns and have many friends who live there (home was in the video), so the damage is legit. That being said... that video is SO cabbage town. Hicks, lesbians, indie hipsters, oddballs, which is why I love CTown.

I am sorry, but "we could be in Darfur" ??? That is just over the top.

  • Yeah, that guy was really bizarre. Did you see the "Hillary" button he was wearing? The weirdos vote for Hillary, the assholes vote for Barack, and the dumbasses vote for McCain.

  • I think he's staying positive. You know 'things could be worse'. An extreme example, yes, but maybe proof that things aren't half as bad they could be.

  • I agree about the Darfur comparison. So he lost a car? How arrogant!

  • Arrogant?? He wasn't being arrogant. He was saying in essence that, in spite of the tornado, he was still better off than the poor folks in Dafur and he was dissapointed that he lost a car he bought a week prior.

  • That yellow house at the beginning of the vid is my sisters.

  • I am sorry for your sister lost and everyone eles you can all ways replace things but not a life I hope she is all right

  • What? You deleted all the negative "hick" comments? I was hoping to remind them to think of us "hicks" next time they:

    Listened to Outkast

Watched CNN, TNT, TBS, Cartoon Network (Yes, "williams street productions" in the adult swim credits means williams street atlanta)

Flew through the largest airport on the PLANET

Watched a race on the fastest track on the NASCAR circuit (yeah nascar's redneck, still)

Watched a Le Mans run on Road Atlanta.

Used this new fangled website called "Google"

  • tornadoes are the least predictable natural disaster. You can guess which cells may form one, but you can't get any more specific than a couple of miles at best, and then there's no telling if it will touchdown, how wide it will be, or where it will go once it forms.

  • This made the front page??!! No offense it's a good vid but these news vids usually don't make the front page. The ones that usually get featured are unique vids like that guy using his Nintendo DS to play music.

  • D@mn, a bunch of ignorant people here commenting calling this section of Atlantans hicks & rednecks. You "folks" need some serious help if thats all you see when you watch this vid'.

  • I think people should move out of Canada because of all the angry moose attacks by your logic.

  • the neighbours that didn't pray got hit... praise god!!!

  • we had a small tornado like this last year in lettucetown!

  • we had a small tornado like this in lettucetown last year!

  • a testament to the saying " God hates rednecks."

  • Maybe God hates new orleans or Kansas or highrises in downtown Texas too huh?

Maybe God actually hates Club Lennies. Kind of hard to steer a tornado down a street without some kind of collateral damage.

Or maybe God hates herbie curbies

Either way if Fema gets involved these people should be getting new temporary trailers they wont be able to use in about year or 2.

Fema should be able to milk 20 to 30 million from the gubment on this one. You priced them herbie curbies lately?

  • So does God hate Kansas new orleans or downtown Texas high rise buildings too?

Heck maybe God just hates Club Lennies, kind of hard to steer a tornado down a street without somekind of collateral damage.

Or maybe its the Herbie curbies that set God off.

Either way if Fema gets involved these people should be getting temporary trailers that they wont be able to use in about a year or 2.

Fema should pull in a cool 40 to 50 million from the gubment on this one.

  • God must hate kansas New Orleans and downtown texas highrise buildings too. Heck, maybe God hates Club Lennies, ever try steering a tornado down a city street? Bound to be some collateral damage.

Or maybe its the herbie curbies.

Wait til Fema gets involved. these people should be getting a couple thousand trailers they wont be able to inhabit in about 3 years.

Fema should be able to pull in a sweet 30-40 million from the gubment on this one.

  • Kindof irionic coming from a kid who worships "professional" wrestling.

  • wow

  • hahaha u cracked me up rofl

  • now its a true cabbagetown

  • so sad. ;(

  • Haha look at 1:50 she says she could hear lightning...typical american

  • haha two seconds later she corrected herself

  • That'd count if she hadn't corrected her self a second later.

  • a tornado landed in my county the next day Screven Georgia

  • I thought tornadoes only hit trailer parks

  • wow is that a joke <.<

  • lol

  • wow!used to live in Ks. so i have empathy bless you all and help each other...

  • stop watching pointless videos and vote hillary clinton!

  • thats insane hope no one got hurt did you see the tree up rooted thats a massive tree look at the damage

  • I live in Atlanta and I know that it's big news here, but I had no idea that the news would spread this far. I'm not too far from Cabbagetown, but luckily, I wasn't hit.

  • The damage doesn't seem too bad. That looks like a nice place to live, minus the tornado.

  • hahaha...Walden saw a tornado....

  • what a retarded 1000 year old remark that was

  • is there a weedtown to??

  • b`lacksun....you have never been to ga........stop seeming so heartless and dumb....

  • I thought tornadoes only hit trailer parks.

  • wow all you people leaving comments are really rude what if the people in that area couldnt afford to fix up this city? you all act lik money grows on trees here and f.y.i. saying that only hicks live in Georgia is lik saying that Rodeos are only in Texas. These ppl had more damage than was shown in the video.

  • I don't give a shit about people in my city. Most are the governments problem and the welfare system will just fix it with my tax dollars anyway.

  • In a lot of cities it does. Its called welfare. So if a tornado destroyed this city. The government will just come in and use my tax money to fix up the houses of the lazy people.

  • My poor atlanta. :( It looks even worse in person.

  • what is herby kirby?

  • The City of Atlanta's offical term for gigantic trashcan. No comment on the guy who actually uses the term.

  • Hick talk for dumpster or something.

  • I went to greensburg in Kansas and picked up afte that tornado. I wish I could go here and hwelp these people out.

  • The amount of drama indicated in this video is kind of uncalled for, everyone is okay and buildings can be built again...this makes it seem like the entire city was washed away or something...

  • causeXeffect23: Kinda like the normal 6 o'clock news, eh?

  • Heh, that's funny. I think the same thing about people who live in hurricane prone areas. I live in tornado alley, and I've never seen a tornado in my life (kinda want to, but I'm sure it would scare the pants off me :)). Granted, when a tornado does hit something, it usually does a lot of damage in that small area, but a hurricane does way more damage overall.

  • I hope the cabbage patch kids are alright! o.o

  • You have a point I often wonder what would happen if we assessed thngs this way...I mean if the people of third world nations learned how good somewhere else is to live why wouldnt they move their..North Snow to Southern Sunshine etc. Nic comment a bit harsh with the language.

  • blueice95112, Where would we go, Stupid Canada? That would suck.

  • Yeah. Then we'd have to deal with disasters like maple leaf famines. Hahaha!

  • That's crazy! I saw a tornado once when I was little and then every time after that for the next few years if I saw a tornado warning I hid in the tub because I was so scared!

  • blueice, you are an idiot. It's only Tornado Alley that's the worst tornado area in the world. I live in the southwest, we have very calm weather, no tornados.

  • thats terrible. i feel bad for them

  • praise god, that women's perspective is messed up, seriously by her way of thinking didn't god send the tornado in the first place, I was spared because I prayed lol. what a crock at least the dude that hung onto the door frame has some sense of reality.

  • God sent the tornado because they needed the neighborhood redone. That's why there weren't hundreds of people killed. He was just doing them a favor.

  • This neighborhood has been coming up the past 10 years. It is a great artists community! Now 30 years ago, some people might agree with you...

  • How close is this to Snellville, GA?

  • Snellville is northeast of Cabbagetown, by maybe about 30 minutes

  • through

  • Why does God allow this stuff to happen? Answer: He's a lazy piece of shit.

  • Not exactly. Hes a boy with an ant farm. After he made us, he got bored and terrorizes us for amusement.

  • I was out that night. I'm half an hour from Atlanta. We had just gotten off the freeway exit and not 20 seconds later it went from clear to strong rain, hail nearly as big as golfballs, couldn't see the road. For a good hour before I saw the largest lightning storm i'd ever seen in the sky. it was odd with how warm it was outside that it was hailing and i made the immediate assumption we had tornado weather and took cover.

  • great video!

  • I guess that woman was just christian enough to be spared any damage but her neighbors must be heathens..she never ever said..God help the stricken.. props to the man who hung on to a doorframe to be spared from death and STILL knows others suffering.

  • rare in atlanta? why?

  • global warming's gonna gitcha gonna gitcha gonna gitcha! we gotta change our ways people...

  • so good that guy's attitude "we could be in darfur right now". wonderful attitude. my prayers go with you.

  • Where's your cabbage now cabbagetown?

  • Where's your cabbage now cabbagetown?

  • lolololol

  • Whats a Herby Curby?

  • Yea, that women's neighbors must have been Satan worshipers. Why else would God allow a tree to destroy their house. Some people !

  • Wait so.... WTF?

    Herbykirbys?

    Went flying?

    Is that like people?

  • gosh - that awesome old tree - so sad

  • Wow, what an eloquent, sobering statement:

"But, we could be in Darfur right now, so..."

    Good point.

Who is the voice moaning in the background? Sounds a lot like Sting.

For the juvenile snot below, the quilts protect you so flying glass (bath room mirror - windows) doesn't shred your skin... or from the looks of these old homes and magnificent trees - from sharp bits of ceiling plaster.

Now, back to Faux News or King of the Hill for you.

  • I feel bad for people who have to go through these things.

    Have faith!

    Faith does work!!

  • dude. i don't get it. is this being a featured video on st. patrick's day supposed to be funny ala the cabbage reference? plus i like how the guy got to plug his band and how cool they were by being the headlining band at "lenny's" My gigs at CBGB seem so insignificant now... I'm also unclear on why the mid-east styled music is appropriate.

  • Im watching news on it as i leave this comment. This is crazy. Thoughts and prayers with all that were involved.

  • wht is the music playing in the background...

  • Your gay!

  • Your gay!

  • all of you viewers safely at your computers far away from here should be more interested in whether people survived and were ok.

the name of the town, the comments about God, Hillary Clinton, the fact that it didn't happen to you....that's all irrelevant.

look at this as a serious natural disaster and not as a chance for you to disprove God or make some asshole comment.

    grow up

  • finally and intelligent comment!

  • yea why dont you praise god for destroying the rest of town ?

  • no entiendo nada

    =$

  • cabbagetown has been completely gentrified by hip yuppie artist wannabes

  • See how good god is he brought that tornado its the end and now america will be stubble. Next step government sticking micrchips up your ass.

  • ok stupid question but "darfur?" anyone care to explain to me what that means...another city?

  • Darfur is in the middle of a genocide. The guy basically means that things could be very worse for him, so he's actually lucky to be where he is in this situation.

  • ARE YOU SERIOUS!?

  • Oh good Lord... if I remember right, it's a country in Africa, and it's currently suffering from a genocide.

But since our ass of a president is too busy fighting a war that, really, probably has no real purpose, there's not much that's being done, to my knowledge, for the people living in Darfur. Even though we could probably really help them. Things may have changed, but last I heard, people were just letting it happen.

  • Yeah, how dare he fight a war that puts a stop to a government that employed official rapists, beat women for learning how to read, executes mentally retarded people for being rape victims, filled mass graves with people of certain ethnicities, doesn't allow women to congregate in public, doesn't allow certain people to go to school, picked random people off the street to practice torture techniques........

  • Well our ass of a president doesn't need to fight the war or give a fucking about them. Its not own job to police the world. If they want to kill each other by all means, let them.

  • way over dramatic. No one died, and no one even was seriously injured. Where are the documentaries about tornadoes that actually cause despair to more than just insurance executives. No if the dome had collapsed

  • yeah, praise jesus.

  • I'm sick of all these Tornado videos... I live in Atlanta (right next to Cabbage Town) and that is all that the local news has been covering for the last few days.

  • started hearing lightening?

  • The subject matter is not funny but for some reason i was laughing my ass of during this. I think it was the music, or some fot eh comments. like the first guy they interviewed was soo soned.

  • We feature news now?

    Is this even current?

  • I feel that it was nothing short of miraculous that nobody was killed, or even seriously injured, by this tornado--right in the middle of downtown with tens of thousands of people in the city at the time. The damage will be repaired in time. Lives can't be replaced.

  • ahahaah wupps wrong city

  • i like it

  • "but we could be in darfur", true words.

  • STFU!

  • What the hell is a quilt gonna protect you from? Lol.

  • looool

  • lol no doubt guess it will keep there dead body warm longer?

  • It can stop glass from ripping skin and soften the landing of objects to the body. In other words save a life.

  • i think god put that tornado down because he made a mistake with the name of that city. haha

  • i think god put that damn tornado down because he made a mistake with the name of that town. haha

  • Is this because of global warming?

  • most likly yes! think about it, heats going up more tornados are coming. ts a sign!

  • no.

  • The music makes me feel like I'm watching a "Feed Africa" commercial.

  • my friend lives in cabbage town

a tree hit his house but he and his family are okay :)

  • They are streetfishing

  • LOL at the lady saying God was looking out for them and then saying a tree went through her next door neighbor's house. I guess God had a grudge with the neighbor?

  • no, hes right.

  • scary i had a tornado in school it was the freakyest thing ever

  • wat the fuck is a herbie curbie

  • tornado.

  • actually im guessing :D
