  • It's called 'karma'. Got that from the anime.

  • actually, the english version isn't that bad. with just the guitar instead of singing. I like the japanese version the most though, but I just wish there was a version with both the singing parts and the guitar solo parts.

  • why cant the U.S just keep the Japanese version and just put the English words at the bottom?

  • What is the name of the song? I can't find it anywhere.

  • I just love this game!!!

  • Cant wait for this on the 3DS!

  • Epic Game.

  • Most annoying thing about this game is it didnt come out in Europe so i bought an american ps2, and a NTSC (or whatever its called) tv and the plugs so i could play it, and my american ps2 broke ..... damn.... they need to remake this game one day and send it to europe as well

  • @poketradersuk Yeah, I hope I could do same. I have a modded console so I just need to keep that one console in good shape, but finding a copy of a NTCS/US copy is hard, priced way too much, and then again it would be used, and not even help the original makers.

But japanese version, THAT one is easy to get new, just to play asia. Too bad I do not speak moonrunes...

  • @SumeaBizarro Is it hard to mod your PS3 to play PS2 games? I would be buying a new one in Canada of course.

  • @TRLahti I have a Modded PS2, that is. Modded PS3 is impossibility at moment unless you have very first generation of PS3's with what it is somewhat possible with openPS2loader and swapmagic disk, but modding PS3 to get PS2 games boot is mostly a impossibility, just cheaper to get a PS2, soft/hard mod that. Not that hard even.

  • @SumeaBizarro to lazy to switch consoles, rather have it all at once :P.

  • @SumeaBizarro I'm trying to mod my PS2 to play an undubbed version of this game, JUST so I can have this version of the song. Oh, and voiced skits and replay value (to hear it in new voices).

  • @PredictableEnigma heh, I am doing the opposite next to play the original english version myself to hear. Noticed that Luke is Yosuke and Guy is voiced by same guy who did Adatchi in Persona 4, and even voices in new catherine game. This opening is also in anime, though with different video.

  • hmmm i still need to get one of the old ps3 so i can play this game and vesperia. wait the older version of the PS3 can play ps2 games right? oh well at least i have my Wii so i can play both Symphonia games and the upcoming Graces

  • Love this Theme song

  • Really amazing =DD

    °Shuyin°

  • I ran across this song on accident, but it is amazing. I like both versions, this and the instrumental. It's so catchy. <3

  • im gonna learn this song..and then play it with my band! whoo-hoo! just for fun..im not into copyrighting....jeez

  • The Japanese opening is SO much better. Thanks for putting it up so we can enjoy it, since Nintendo copped out.

  • What have Nintendo got to do with Tales of the Abyss?

Basically all Japanese themes are removed because of copyright laws which is a pain.

  • For some reason, I was thinking of Tales of Symphonia, which IS a Nintendo game, and which also doesn't have the Japanese opening. I guess at least Sony used something similar to the Japanese opening, with the heavy metal and all. Nintendo totally copped out on Tales of Symphonia, with the shitty song. Sorry for mixing them up in my mind.

  • I like the American theme better. No singing, I like that beasty guitar!

  • It's not bad or anything, I just think the Japanese brings a certain authentic quality to it. I also like openings that have singing in them.

And someone else said that "Translating it wouldn't work" but Hikaru Utada did it for BOTH Kingdom Hearts games. Anyway, enough of my soap boxing.

It's really just personal preference, I guess.

  • Tales of Symphonia is a Bandai-Namco game.

  • I know that. I don't know why I said it was a Nintendo game. I really don't. I think I was equating it to other games, specifically Tales of Symphonia, that have way cooler opening sequences in the Japanese version. And Tales of Symphonia is on Gamecube, hence my retarded blanket statement.

  • Right but, does anyone remember that it's also a Playstation 2 game in Japan?

  • It was released in the US as well, I know because I own both versions.

  • That isn't true, they're not ALWAYS removed. And fuck Japanese copyright if they're going to be dick like that! I'll steal music from those corporate douches even more now!

  • ...Japanese Copyright? Lol...

  • i dont see y the u.s. has to crap up all of the japanese things. -.- y couldnt they have just kept the jap opening for the u.s. version? T.T

  • Yes, but that would probably cause them to get complaints as the Japanese version is in... um... JAPANESE. And this was released in... AMERICA. ENGLISH. If they were to translate it, the timing would probably be off, which would me they'd have to collaborate the video(if possible) or change the lyrics completely. I know everyone is a purist now-a-days, but you've gotta show Namco some respect and lay offa them. It's just too much work to do that kind of stuff.

  • i like the intrumental better but it's only my opinion

  • This song's waaaay better in Japanese.

  • @lalalaGIR I concur. The "English" one is really just a karaoke version of the real song.

  • cool the name of the song is supernova-Bump of chicken

  • karma XD

  • Imagine this on mario paint.

  • Yaay. I love this song.

A bit partial to the instrumental, but I like the words, too.

    Thanks for posting!

  • its better in japanese

  • Yea but I'm glad the American version doesn't suck anymore... Yay Bump of chicken! (even if that's a weird name for a band)

  • thats a very nice song!=D nice video!
