@Nubiex7 We are boycotting Israeli businesses because of the oppression, terror and repression that Israel is causing upon the Palestinians, crimes of which are heavily documented by human rights groups and NGOs. If you wish to ignore that evidence and documentation, and instead go off on a ridiculous and worthless rant about Nazis and Anti-Semitism, then don't expect to recieve anything from me but ridicule.

Ignoring the suffering Palestinians doesn't make them stop existing or suffering.

BDS was having a pro-Palestinian protest. The Zionists were countering that with a pro-Israel protest. There was a clash between the two protests.

The Australian Defence League, an openly fascist organisation, didn't side with us at BDS, but instead deciding to support and help out the Zionists. Clearly their loyalties lie with Israel not Palestine,

@ChaseTheDub Israel has an appalling human rights record. What about the apartheid system in the West Bank, what about the systematic torture of Palestinians, what about the random killings of Palesinians, what about the blockade on Gaza, what about the segregation inside of Israel?

These crimes that Israel commits upon the Palestinians are brutal and horrific, and need to be opposed. All morally decent humans would oppose such brutality as per Israel upon Palestine.

@ChaseTheDub Moral people should always fight oppression, attack oppressors and support resistance. The Warsaw Ghetto uprising is a great moment in the history of resisting oppression. The Palestinians resisting the occupation and dispossession is admirable and heroic. Getting rid of apartheid Rhodesia and South Africa were beautiful. And the women of Saudia Arabia fighting back against the brutal and systematic oppression is equally heroic and worthy of my celebration.

@ChaseTheDub The reason why we boycott against and oppose Israel is very simple, and it's something we've been saying millions of times over, and I'll say it again now. We oppose Israel because of the crimes it commits upon the Palestinians, including the apartheid regime in the West Bank, the blockade upon Gaza, and segregation inside of Israel, and the refusal to provide justice to the refugees.

Israel's internal democratic liberalism do not disprove the facts of the crimes it commits.

Every time when an apologist for Israel writes a comment, they ignore the Palestinians, and thus ignore the suffering and brutality that they live under. It's no different than discussing South Africa's democratic and liberal polity while ignoring the suffering of the blacks.

Do you think that it's legitimate to defend 1980s South Africa because it was democratic?

Black people in S.A. never fired rockets into white communities, they never allowed extremist groups like Hamas to dictate their struggle against apartheid, they never wished for all white people to leave SA. they just wanted to have the same rights as white people. Palestinians have been offered peace by Israel many times! but they have always chosen violence over peace.

@ChaseTheDub Britain was the leading funder to Zionist colonisers in the 1930s and '40s, and helped the state of Israel founded, and then the US has been the biggest contributor to Israel, with economic, military and diplomatic aid. It's obvious that Israel plays a role in imperial geopolitics, ie controlling the Middle East oil supply, and thus will always be a relevant factor within world politics. The crisis will continue until the US gets out of the Middle East and stops funding terrorism.

@ChaseTheDub In Palestine, Jews and Palestinians WERE living in peace for a full 50 years, and had heathy economic and social relationships. Problems arose when the British-funded Zionists began interfering with Mandate Palestine domestic politics, including the eventual creation of an army that committed the Nakba.

That's the difference between Jews and Zionists: Jews wanted to live happily in Palestine as free citizens, Zionists wanted to slaughter Arabs and found a racist terror state.

@ChaseTheDub Racism is a divide-and-conquer weapon. Distract the population by scapegoating on a particular race of people, and people's anger flows in that direction. In Russia, in the 1800s, whenever the Tsar was getting unpopular with the population, he would relocate their anger away from him and towards Jews. No long did the Russian people get angry at the Tsar for their poverty, but they took out their anger by violently attacking the local Jewish people.

Thanks to the Great Depression, millions of people were in poverty, and extremely angry, wanting to know who to blame. The correct answer was the leading figures of capitalism and the German elite were to blame, like Hindenburg's clique.

The Nazis redirected that hatred of poverty, claiming that Jews caused the depression.

Okay then, by that logic, I assume that you supported Apartheid South Africa, you supported the British occupation of Ireland, you supported the Indonesian annexation of East Timor in 1999, and you support the Indian occupation of Kashmir.

Israel commits countless crimes against the Palestinians, and its status as a democratic state doesn't cancel out or reduce the suffering it inflicts.

@hardkoregamer999 If that is true, then your "Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East" argument is void. In reality, military occupations are brutal, horrid, and must be stopped through resistance. If the oppressor nation is a dictatorship, a theocracy, or a liberal democracy, then that occupation is still just as brutal. And thus the occupier's internal political system is not evidence to be used against resisting the occupation. All that morally matters is the occupation's brutality.

@ChaseTheDub In order to understand the Middle East, we need to view it in terms of US imperialism: controlling the entire region, controlling the oil supply, dominating world industry of energy resources. Country by country, most Middle Eastern nations are brutal and violent human rights abusers, and most are US allies. And since Israel is an ally to the US, all of those dictatorships are allies to Israel too. Just think of Saudi Arabia and Mubarak's Egypt and Saddam Hussein's Iraq.
