  • would anyone recommend the movie sauna? I've heard of the movie but I'm debating wether or not I should buy or rent

  • @silverwindspirit I didn't personally like it. It's a good movie to watch if you're bored, but it's not really good.

  • kielletty hedelmä is my favourite finnish film!¸

it is not on the list. watch it, people!!

  • Hi I think I am in a way agree... we were more lucky as we had so much in common with Finland many were doubt...

there are so many I usedto watch long winter nights in Pietarri

I dont understand finnish... so sorry was learnuing but then gave up

  • do any of these movies have english subtitles?

  • @NightmaresinmyEye Rölli, Santa Claus and The Witch's Drum, Jade Warrior, Star Wreck and the Unknown Soldier all have official English subtitles in their DVD releases. In fact you can download the original Star Wreck film from the creators' website (the Imperial Edition DVD has all the extras and redone special-effects).

  • Aika mahtava englanti sulla

  • Can you give a printed version of this list?

  • @javathegene Check out the video description, I've added the list there.

  • I should check out "Tentematon Sotilas" as I was told by many that it was a great war film. I'm not really familiar with Finland but I'm sure you did a great job making this video for your country =)

  • @gexup "Tuntematon Sotilas" just to correct you may have difficulties finding it with a misspelled name. =)

  • @HandeToon there is coming rare export and napapiirin sankarit.you should make a movie video from 21st centry movies

  • I would place Pathfinder (1987) dir. Nils Gaup at No. 1.

It's not in this entire Top 10.

  • @mlogansalton That's a Norwegian film, you silly person.

  • @HandeToon

Pathfinder (1987) is described as Finnish (Radio Times Guide to Films, 2009), but as Norwegian at IMDb.

  • @mlogansalton Apparently at Wikipedia as well, the director is Norwegian, so are the actors. There isn't a single element of Finnish in this film except that the Sami people happen to live in the general northern territories of Finland, Sweden and Norway.

  • @HandeToon

Can you tell us where to find rare Scandinavian films such as Adalen 31 (Sweden, 1969) and Drommeslottet (Norway, 1986) ?

  • @mlogansalton I don't watch Scandinavian films so much, so no.

  • where is muumi ja pyrstö tähti?

  • @mikaonmika I think that would have been pushing it. True, Moomins are a Finnish product but the anime and the related films are Dutch-Japanese co-productions and therefore are not Finnish films.

  • Are there and modern movies ?

  • Pekka & Pätkä and Unknown Soldier were made in the 50s. The TV-Man and Insane Finland in the 60s. Santa Claus, Rölli and Kummeli were made in the 1990s. Restaurant Seagull, Star Wreck and Jade Warrior are all fairly recent (less than 10 years old)

  • thank you

  • You're welcome! =)
