I have a 92 vw fox with 67,000 miles on it runs beautiful very reliable. I installed techtonics cat back exhaust it produces a great noise that similar to a yamaha r6 lol very happy with it
I think this car was definitely worth the $2,000 premium over the Yugo and was almost certainly a better car than the similarly priced Hyundai Excel too. The American cars near this price level, namely the Dodge Omni/Plymouth Horizon and Chevrolet Chevette (through 1987) probably had more features and bigger engines but they were in no way better cars. Most American consumers had no idea the Fox was produced in Brazil, and those shopping for this class of car probably didn't care.
Yeah. Yugos were economic, but didn't last much. I heard these automobiles were pretty reliable, although they didn't feature automatic transmission or power steering. Thanks for posting.
Loved it, my first new car ... a white 4-door GL. That car was sneaky-fast, great to throw around with the 4-speed!

In Brazil (where they were produced), the sedan is called "Voyage" and the station wagon, "Parati".

It was great to see this commercial.
I had an '88 fox.
There was another commercial - when the fox first came out it was $5690..the 1st commercial was similar but the musice was a bit different.
