When I first heard this on the radio in the late-1990s/early-200s, I thought it sounded like U2. But now that I've found out otherwise, it ended up being Everclear all the time.

@Arkitekt26: Yes, it is. And Eartha Kitt covered it for June Allyson, who never recorded it, so that makes EK the original, I guess.
