Yeah, GP is a usefull thing to start with cause obviously at the beginning you're not very likely to play by ear unless you start playing the guitar after music school but it's almost imposible to get a 100% correct tab. Every single piece of tablature I've found on this song has one flaw. At 2:57, (this is the second time he plays the "chorus") he doesn't go down to the 17th fret of the 4th string, he keeps playing the way he plays the second part of the "chorus," if that makes sense.
Try playing along right then and you'll see that if you follow the tabs, it HARMONIZES with what you hear, meaning it's not right. I don't blame you for this, but do you see what I mean?
There are alot of things in the Guitar World tab that are wrong. Even though in guitar World it says that Jerry had a hand in tabbing it, I find that hard to believe because there is a lot that is missing from the tab that you can hear on the recording. When Jerry recorded it he laid to separate lead guitar tracks down and sometimes during the song there are certain parts behind the main lead that can barely be heard but are not tabbed.
I found all this out when i opened the song in my recording software and panned out each guitar to see what is actually going on and i found ALOT of things that you cant really hear nor are they tabbed. I've searched hi and low for a 100% correct tab that has all the little pieces here and there but I have not found anything so I'm currently working in Guitar Pro to try and actually tab out each guitar track that Jerry recorded and do it correctly that way there is a tab that is correct and has

JerryC plays it differently than the TAB there are some minor differences. Try to figure those out by ear :)
