  • The cutest video ever!! Obviously he really loves you!:)

  • That's so cool

  • my parrot calls me "Boy"

yoy hear her all day going "boy". Boy. Boy , Boooooooooooooooooyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!

  • "cheryl"

    "cheryl"

    "cheryl"

    "cheryl"

    "what do you want"

    "hi"

  • ey dude ur parrot is so cutee i have 1 is the same, and btw i got the same cage just it doesnt have that wood ladder lmao

  • Parrots are extremely intelligent. If you talk to them as though they are human, understanding what you say, it is amazing what they really do understand and how much they will communicate. One would only say 'goodbye' when you would leave. That was the only time, he know what it meant, along with many, many other things.

  • Yes, your parrot is intelligent, for a parrot anyway. The second he got your attention he stopped calling you and tried to, what it seemed like, to communicate with you. His while stance changed the second he got your attention, and he stopped calling you

  • omg this parrot is soo clever. :)

  • when you ask him what he wants, is he saying "fly fly fly"?

  • @thorkill - Sounds to me like he's saying "hi." You might be interpreting his moving his wings as he wants to fly, but crouching and fluttering the wings is a solicitous gesture used by many bird species. I've seen it a lot among wild birds in North America, particularly among fledgelings begging their parents for food.

  • THAT is so cute :)

  • oh my god, i love this!

  • i love your parrot!

  • scinetist always say parrots call each other by name. i think dolphins do, too. i guess they have names like "sqiurrrkk-gurrgg-chirp". XD or 'Chryl'.

  • I read that description and I totally agree with you. My boyfriend's yellow amazon would call him when he lived at home with his mother because he would come to him when he called and pay him attention. He has since moved out of her home and the bird would still call for him even when he wasn't living there anymore. Finally he would call and call and my boyfriend wouldn't come and he gave up calling him. Now he says Ma or Mom when he calls somebody to call for his mother.

  • I loved it when you said his name he was so happy.

  • His story is sad D: But the vid is cute XD

  • Aww, Poncho really loves you and all your videos demonstrate you really care about him too. :) It's great to see such tight human-pet bonds on Youtube. Always good to be reminded that though there may be many unhappy pets in the world, there will always be people who really take good care of their pets and treat them like family.

  • That's so sweet!! He loves you :) He got excited when you answered him.. Heheh

  • I love how he looked really excited and pleased when you answered him!

  • aw, he's so cute!!!

  • Aww!! He's So Cute!! I Want A Parrot!!

  • that's so adorable!

i wish my bird could do that

  • Awesome. Great bird, that Pancho.

  • that bird is awsome!

  • I am trying to teach my Conure Zazu to talk. He says a few words but the book I am reading says some birds are cognitive learners. In your case I think Poncho is! Your bird is adorable.

  • 'cheryl...CHERYL!' its like he is calling you like ur his mummy!

  • hes brilliant, and yes in reply to the description, ive heard that birds, mainly 'parrots' lol, can be taught to speak in context, so i fully agree with what you say

  • omg, he actually understands, ive only ever seen 1 other parrot actually show and understanding of language, he seems t know what yeh means aswell, u have a very smart parrot

  • That is just so amazing. I love Poncho!

  • poncho videos are awesome- just cant say it enough on how cute he is!...he so totally recongnized the fact that you finally acknowledged him at 1:09...hes definitly talking back to you and so relieved you finally answered .lol..birds are so smart without a doubt!...and thats really interesting about what you wrote about "donna, robert"..im sure he knew their names meant they were actually their names and now that he hasnt seen them- he has no reason to say the names

  • I do believe that some parrots have the capacity to associate certain words with their actual meaning or action. Gotta love Poncho!
