  • I call this the "Brubeck Hymn" because it's 5/4 time! ;-)

  • @tricesimo its heavily influenced by Take 5 (made famous by the Dave Brubeck Quartet) :) i play drums in church and we did this song last week... its so fun to play because of the time signature switch in each measure.

  • I have heard an up beat version with drums as it so lively.

  • I am a Protestant, but due to my work schedule, I worshiped at a Catholic church one Sunday morning. I heard this song, and fell in love with it! My wife plays flute, I play piano, and my 12-year-old son plays drums on this song. It's become one of our signature pieces! GREAT job singing and playing! :-)

  • Thanks for posting

  • I love this song and I love Lord of the dance and sing out earth and skies!!

  • i luvs singing this song!

  • We had this our wedding. I think it's just the best hymn ever. Sadly no-one knew it at our wedding and it sounded rubbish. The organ was great though.

  • I LOVED this song when I was a little kid. I still do in fact. My church is singing this this Sunday (August 9, 2009) but I went to a different church so I didn't get to sing it unfortunately.

  • I remember that CHIJ TP sings this hymn too... now I miss the days ihad when i was P1-P6 :(

  • i love how its in 5/4 not too common thats what makes the piano part amazing

  • i love this song. it is 373 in the gather hymnal. we sang it on my birthday.

  • haha i remember learning this song in primary school, ages ago and i suddenly had the melody stuck in my head, its taken me ages to actually find it, thankyou

but it just goes to show that you dont have to be a churchy to enjoy good music

  • I am obsessed with this song! Thank you soo much for singing this and doing a wonderful job! I walk around all day singing it!

  • Have to lead this song in our church later today and I'd never heard it before - thanks for this lovely version which has helped me a lot - nice rhythm and well sung - God bless

  • Good Job!!!

One of my favorites...although, we do it just a bit faster...but this is a good pace.
