  • I'm incredibly jealous of the sound your band puts out. Our director showed us a picture of you guys, we were all in awe at how HUGE you guys are. And we are a pretty big band for our state (180 in total). I now know the definition of a large band! So are there people in your band that you have never met before?

  • @drlafonda Indeed there are, which is a little sad. In drumline it's almost as if we have a mini band within the band though. Our UIL band is smaller now, by the way, because we've now excluded freshman. This year we had about 450 people perform in the UIL show.

  • @Aspenshadow721 Do you guys compete?

  • that must be one big ass locker room

  • must be incredibly diffficult to write out the drills

  • I'm happy... I get to use the new band hall next year!

  • Aaahhhh, I don't understand!!! My high school marching band had, like, 45 marchers, 8 color guard, and 13 members in drumline/pit...mother of all that is good, I do not understand....

  • must be fun to watch

  • Goooooooooood Loooooooooooooord!

  • Do you guys go to Grand Nationals?

  • all i have to say is, holy crap.

  • this band is too big........it would suck to write drill for them

  • @jackmart1000 They have a bad ass teacher. :) Pennington is awesome.

  • 60 trumpets and no screamers is saddening :(...

  • @GC2010Trumpet what? no screamers?

  • @TonyF273

As in screaming trumpet...? Jazz Leads...? Double F's and higher?

  • @GC2010Trumpet they have alot of low brass.. probably thats why..

  • @TonyF273

That doesn't have anything to do with my statement, my good man. I feel as though if you're going to put "Malaguena" in your show, you need a couple screamers to pop out some high F's... Plus that section of Malaguena requires a solid Double C (in the original big band chart) that I don't think the average high school student can hit... So I don't think it fits in a marching band show without those elements.

  • thats a major overkill

  • the head drum major was a student teacher in my class

  • it looks like a dang ant pile

  • how big is that drumline

  • Wow.

    That is one big band!

  • When i saw how many people was int his band my jaw just dropped.. im speechless right now

  • 95 tumpets

  • Gosh.. If only our color gaurd didnt suck balls. I dont think there is a single time in the whole show, or any show we've ever done that the color gaurd was together. But our band.. Oh gosh yes :)

  • I'm now curious. About how many clarinets are there?

  • @dellafiora3395 2010 is about 100

  • the problem with monster bands like this one is they can hardly move and some times it gets boring when bands just stay in one certain area the whole time

  • Everything is bigger in Texas

  • I'm so sad I couldn't be in this competition, had to watch from the sidelines :( Stupid bronchitis

  • how many people do you have in this band and how many are baritones casue i play baritone

  • @holyman334 This year I believe we had around 630 something give or take a few, and I don't know how many baritones, being a mellophone, I am on the opposite side of the field.

  • this video is degrading to how loud we truly are :/

  • It was so much fun being in front! When we played our first note i could see people wincing because of the sudden explosion of sound they were hearing. :D

  • Did the pit shrinK!??

  • Our 4 grade high school only had about 330 total band members and WE divided into TWO marching bands during marching season and THREE bands for concert season. We had a competition band of about 200 members including 50 color guard. The performance band was a similar size and the rest were alternates. Having TWO marching bands allowed us to "clean up" on marching competitions that had divisions. You guys could wipe the floor ( and maybe do Zingali drills ) if you divided into 2 or 3 bands.

  • so, how many trumpets do y'all have? and who's first chair haha

  • I don't know the exact number. Somewhere around 60, but first chair is Tyler Tryon. Four year all-stater.

  • We had 44 trumpets out of 150 total instruments. Having that many sops opens a lot of doors -- like jazz tunes with 6 sop parts. If I was the director I would have a Corps-style band which would prepare musicians for DCI competition.

  • Ok, so I heard the district tried to split you guys up? lol I guess that didnt' work haha.

    AWESOME SHOW BY THE WAY!!!!

  • @Aspenshadow721 its around 90ish. not 60.

  • wow, next year i'll be in that band.. i'm really scared i'll screw up or something though...

  • i dont think everyone in the band knows eachother lol

  • Next year during football season I definately have to come to one of the home games! I wish Allens choir was that big :) Go Eagles!

  • must have a hell of a band room...

  • It actually isn't nearly as big as you would think. We're getting a new one in a few years though. (After I'm gone. :( )

  • @freaky1654

actually, we dont. we're a legal fire hazard when everyone is in the band hall, let alone the black box (theatre-y room designed like a stage)

  • They can definitely play, but their marching could be cleaned up a little.

  • Eh, yeah. It's kind of hard to clean up with 600 people; a third of them being newcomers this year.

  • and we're more of a crowd pleaser than a competition band.

  • how many band buses do you take to a competition? hahaha

  • 17-18 Busses

  • jesus christ .....how much does every one have to pay in fees?

..............and were you guys truely pronounced the biggest band in america?

  • Hey how many mellos do u have

  • the only bad thing about our band is the color gaurd, no offense. Them and the trumpets

  • Are you still the biggest marching band in America?

  • Yes, unless some mysterious band snuck up on us overnight without us knowing and ended up having over 650 members.

  • Cool show. I think it's awesome how i found another band doing Carmen this year. I felt like comparing and if you guys wanna see our show here's the youtube code thing

    watch?v=AujSV0WgqUg

  • god that must be a bitch to clean.... im impressed!! :D

  • It is quite the bitch to clean. We have alot of rehearsals.

  • man tyler beasted his solo and duet

  • great performance especially in music but a little messy in marching.

  • holy frick. xD

  • muahahaha!

  • They should add more visuals though.

  • The right side of the snare line sounds good.

  • pshh. left side pwns (besides april)

  • Lol, April can get on youtube too you know.

  • Haha I'm in the Pottsboro Drum Line and I was sitting down there, omg you guys were so loud! That was so amazing. We made it to area and we got 1's too. Congrats to your band :)

  • btw, im in the denison drumline =)

  • Oh cool! I don't think I saw your band at the last 2 competitions I went to. Do you have a link you could send me?

  • at 7:20 is the best part

  • and 7:50

  • The bass #2 needs to calm down though

  • "GET THAT CAMERA AWAY D:"

    Oh, Aspen.

[[This is Kaze, who's forgotten her password.]]

  • that was a really good preformance! =D
