While I sympathize with the families who lost loved ones, this is just another case of casting blame on others instead of taking responsibility for one's own actions. I am biased since James is one of my mentors, BUT even so, no matter how persuasive someone is, we personally have to understand our own limitations and take actions to preserve our lives.
Well it seems you're all swallowing the lies nicely, by the way the people in the sweat lodge who died were proven to NOT have died from dehydration they died from formaldehyde from the structure which HE DIDN'T build but the place they went to that they paid to have it put up, at every turn they people doing the investigation are only going after him for no reason other then he is well meaning in attempting to empower people i don't really know of the man, but i know of the FACTS media lies.
First the whites tried to restrict the natives from following their tradition and culture. Now some whites are wannabe Indians. All whites who try these should have died in the sweat lodge.
I hope this guy goes to jail for the rest of his life ! I also hope they sue the shit out of him and anyone who is involved. I guess you can't help the STUPID SUCKERS that give money to someone who give EMPTY PROMISES.
for th $10K price tag per person@ 64 people he should spring a few grand to have medical folk on site and how about a contact list and health check BEFORE they enter the sweat lodge
New Age Idiots need to stop stealing sacred rituals and using then for profit! What this man did was religious desecration and murder. He needs to be arrested with all deliberate haste,

Thiswas a gross exploitation of one of the most sacred ceremonies in our traditions. You cannot buy a spiritual experience. These people know this now.
I agree with you that people die all the time and the news likes to pick a few things to focus on.. but in defense of this story... It's big news because the people paid $10,000 to do this "spiritual retreat" run by a con man.
True but why does the media try to take focus away from the real issues? How about investigating the truth behind this latest "terrorist" attack? We all know it's a big set up. What about the health care bill that has been brushed under the rug by the media?
"The media" consists of many different journalists, newsgroups, and people. I think you just have to watch the right station. Anyway, I think that this story hasn't been covered enough. This guy has been getting away with conning people out of millions of dollars for years and was featured in one of the all-time best selling self-help books, "The Secret." So it is important that people realize that these authors are not Gods.
@robshaps One again here we go, you have no idea what you're talking about, its not a put down its just the truth, you have been lied to, people have to stop listening to the media.
@Lokeydin Your suggestion is to stop listening to testimonials from real people who worked with him? Is that the media you wish to close your eyes and ears to? Mr. Smarty Pants, where do you wish to receive your information from?
@robshaps First off you're getting your information from the media which itself is a brainwashing hack who manipulate information.
My sources are good, the fact you're even entertaining the idea of listening to the media means it doesn't matter what your told you'll just follow the other lemmings off the cliff but if by chance your not like that, i'll send you a link.

@ optimumperformance:
How many people actually die in sweat lodges in the U.S? Probably none and this is probably the first.
Why is this big news? Because people report it as a big news because people died from this.
If people die from a disease it wouldn't be considered as big news.
Come on now? dont you know that learning the news will probably make you avoid these things?
Use your head.
