  • 1:16 Torts gets annoyed LOL

  • Does Larry Brooks intentionally ask the dumbest questions possible?

  • islanders don't have fans.

  • hahaha @ 1:17 Torts kinda rolls his eyes and sighs as the person is about to ask the question..does anyone from New York know who that reporter is? they infamous far being a bad reporter or something? Sounds like a high school kid or something

  • if i played in the NHL, this is the kind of coach i would give my spine for. any coach who gives that much emotion is willing to do whatever it takes to bring a team to the top. tortorella has my upmost respect

  • Doesn't he get fined for all his swearing?

  • Torto's interviews and emotions(specially behind the bench) are the best.

  • Gosh I wish the Leafs post game interviews were entertaining like this.

  • LOL. Torto is the stars of the Rangers, not Gaborik LOL!

  • This guy is just classless....perfect fit such an inept hockey team as the Rangers.

  • You got a lot of thumbs down, bit I gave you a thumbs up. This guy is a total ass hole.

  • @itsageyser

Couldn't agree more. This guy is such a little bitch about everything it's like interviewing a 4 year old with roid-rage. He constantly humiliates Larry Brooks who has been covering this team long before Tort was a coach of anything.

  • For those who think being loud equates to passion I think you need to look at other coaches. Scotty Bowman was not loud like Torts but he was a very passionate coach. Same with Ken Hitchcock. Also current coaches Dan Bylsma and Bruce Boudreau. Being loud and swearing up a storm doesn't make you a better coach.

  • How can you say that Torts has no passion when he led the Tampa Bay Lighting to the stanley cup Torts is the best thing that has happened to the Rangers in years a balls to the wall coach he speaks the truth we stunk against the Islanders that game and he will lead the rangers to another stanley cup!

  • I didn't say he isn't passionate. I think he sucks balls at media conferences. He sounds like a whinny ten year old with a potty mouth.

  • That was nothing compared to Bobby Knight!! Or, his son for that matter. And yea, they just happened to be respected as well. Dave you're right. Bowman was hated in Montreal by his players. That was until they began winning Stanley Cups.

  • Torts has done something right cause since this vid they won both games. I remember watching him on TSN and hearing his opioun about various stuff...it was fantastic. This guy knows his stuff and i'm pissed he's with the rangers and not with tSN anymore.

  • Tortorella has no PR skills whatsoever. However, he does have some good coaching skills. Unfortunately, he's made some enemies in the player ranks.

  • @EmitRelevart What coach hasn't? Bowman was hated by many players, but as long as the coach has the respect of the players, he is in good shape. Torts has the respect and that's all that matters.

  • Don't get me wrong. I agree that coaches make enemies among the players. And yeah, it's hard NOT to respect Bowman. But I don't believe you can draw a comparison between Bowman and Tort. I'm just saying it's unfortunate that he has made some enemies within the player ranks that are unlikely to be resolved without movement of either the players involved (too many I think), or the coach. He may not be there much longer, which would be too bad, because I happen to like his coaching style.

  • I love how passionate he can get.

  • Probably.

  • hahaha

  • wow...little Johnny is really f'n teeny tiny

  • Chris Henry being in ciritical condition came across the bottom of the screen... RIP.

  • INTUMATING? WTF?

  • @HockeyBash Intimation def:

    Main Entry: 1in·ti·mate

1 : to make known especially publicly or formally : announce

2 : to communicate delicately and indirectly : hint

  • Does anyone else think it's hysterical that all these Islanders fans keep talking about how the Rangers spend sooooooooo much money yet still suck? Don't they realize there's a salary cap now?

I think these guys are following the Islanders for the first time since before the lockout!

"Hey look, we got John Taveras, I should start following the Islanders again and pretend that I never stopped in the first place. I'm such a hardcore Islander fan!"

  • @nyr3188 I think the Islanders fans might have meant "spend so much money on so few players", I mean, next year you guys have like $10 MIL to play with and something like, 12 players signed? Don't quote my numbers, I can't remember exactly... but it's in that ball-park.

That said, Islanders fans should be the last people to talk about over-spending *coughYashin/DiPietrocough*

    ... GO DEVILS!

  • Rick DiPietro.

    Worst contract signing ever.

    Franchise goalie my ass.

Look how good he is now....NOT!

Oh, but wait, WE spend our money carelessly.

Charles Wang is a moron, and so is Garth Snow.

    Bunch of wannabe business men.

  • how about that great contract the rangers gave Wade redden?

  • @djcuen95 Oh yeah this is compared to the genius of Glen Sather. The man that signs drury for 8 million, Redden for 7, Rozsival for 7... That is like half your cap right there. Im not going to deny that DP was a crap signing, but Ranger fans have nothing to say about that cause Sather is the worst GM in hockey.

  • @djcuen95 Yes...yes the Rangers DO spend their money more carelessly.

    Islanders bad contracts: DiPietro, Yashin

Rangers: Boogaard, Brashear, Redden, Drury, Gomez

I might also add that DiPietro was actually really good at the time of the signing, whereas the Rags overpaid heavily for two enforcers, overpaid heavily for Drury, as solid as he may be, and made laughably bad deals on Redden and Gomez.

  • wade redden was the problem in ottawa. Now he's the problem in rangers land. Awesome how he has a what 39 million dollar 6 year contract.

  • Rozi was the only person besides Gabby who thought to actually attempt a shot on net. 13 million a year for Redden and Drury is the problem.

  • I am not a rangers fan, but I am happy and sad at the same time to see the rangers play like this. I like that Torts comes out and makes a statement like this, and backs it up with hard core attitude.

Its time these players are held accountable for their contracts. $75 for seats, $50 plus tip for parking. $7 for one beer. The least these glorified farm boys could do is try to earn their paychecks. If I had work ethics like some of these players, I would be unemployed starving on the street!

  • @redwineisfine agreed. i'm saying the same thing out west watching phaneuf play. i want this guy traded. like Torts, Sutter Bros. Inc. won't put up with any slack-asses either. they'll give you shit if you don't earn your mammoth paychecks. phaneuf hasn't played defensive hockey for 2 years. sutter and torts. thumbs up.

  • kotalik and redden healthy scratches tonight... FINALLY maybe some veterans will take accountability and step it up now that they will be benched if they don't.... but what i dont understand is why ROSZIVAL EVER PLAYS... cant make a pass cant receive a pass cant do anything. play heikkinen play sanguinetti play sauer ... anybody but rozy

  • Here we go about Rozi. You must not have watched last night's game, or else you just listen to what everyone else says and regurgitate it. Rozi was their BEST d-man last night, he was tied for 2nd on the team in shots & made some great defensive plays. Yes, he's sucked most of the season, but I'm not going to be a mindless parrot and say he's playing like crap now b/c he's not. He's become the ultimate scapegoat but fair is fair. Redden, OTOH, was an embarrassment last night.

  • @ciaobella530

Agreed. Roszival was the turd floating in the pool of diarrhea.

  • Oh, stunning comment, so witty, so clever! Who could be so sharp as an Isles fan? Oh,and I've always maintained that people who use the word "turd" are all idiots, thanks for proving my point.

  • Play Fuckin Hard! Tampa to NYR Same old Shit! Go Torts!

  • Rozsival was NOT that good. He actually looked like crap last night, Michael Del Zotto and Marc Staal are the best two d-men playing for the rangers right now. MDZ was super physical in the win over the isles.

  • I'm so tired of people saying what's popular instead of actually watching hockey and forming an unbiased opinion of their own. If you're talking about Thursday, Rozi had 2 assists, led the team in ice time and was solid defensively. If you can't see that then you clearly are not watching or, like so many others, you will hate him no matter what he does. Guy could have a 5-pt game and he'd still get shit from people. Unbelievable. I go by what my eyes tell me, not the media or popular opinion.

  • Trust me, I form my own opinions. he was NOT the best d-man last night. He had assists on both of callahans goals, did you watch them? Gabby created those plays. Roszival happened to be the beneficiary of the secondary assist. I'll admit that was one of his better games defensively, but he was routinely beat to the puck. Also, he actually hit people in that game, and took one or two shots through traffic.. Why won't he do that more often? His contract and inconsistent play bother me.

  • I'll even go as far as to say that Roszi probably shouldn't have tried to pass it to Gabby on Callahan's 2nd goal, he was in traffic and on his backhand, but Gabby turned it into a shifty pass to Callahan. Roszival doesn't have heart. I give Drury a pass because you can see the guy never quits even if he's playing like garbage, same with avery, dubinsky, prucha when he was here, but Roszival is either incompetant or lazy.. Same with Redden..

  • You are in no place to question his heart or his commitment. God, I hate it when people do that. Are you in the locker room every day? Have you had conversations with him? To accuse someone of not caring about their game or their team is a bad, bad thing. You do not know as much as you think you do - none of us know what goes on among these guys off the ice.

  • Consistent play happens over time. He's playing infinitely better than he was earlier this season, who's to say he won't continue to improve? Say what you want, but it was Rozi who got the puck to Gaby in order for him to set up Callahan - Gaby didn't just take the puck from him, Rozi passed it. He also set up Drury's breakaway the other night. If he was making $2 mil a year people wouldn't be so hard on him, and his salary is Sather's fault, not his. Give the guy a chance to redeem himself.

  • the rangers need a complete defensive overhaul. alot of the forwards on this years roster play poor defense when its needed and cant control the puck. i think the rangers just need to go play a physical game and throw the teams off their momentum. hopefully the rangers get better cause fucking toronto has more points the rangers right now. and i was supposed to go to last nights game hahah thank fucking god i didnt.

  • Not really, they just need to get rid of Roszival and Redden.. Those two mammoth contracts are horrible, and the kids are playing pretty damned well.

In the future i can see:

    MDZ-Staal

    Gilroy-Heikennen (Sorry bout the spelling)

Sanguinetti-Girardi/Sauer whenever Sauer is ready... The Rangers have a pretty solid young defense corps coming up through the system,

  • @Xknyl rozy and redden do good things but not consistently. gilroy is good but he has getting beat, alot. i think torts did the right thing sending him down even though i was bummed about it. and yeah, alot of the forwards have just intensively been defensively educated during the preseason with torts. main reason for the loosing streak was major defensive mistakes by the forwards and defenders.

  • Oh stop you fuckin fake ass islander fans, you dont belong in new york, go to fuckin KANSAS CITY were u belong, KC fishsticks

  • Does anyone else find it pathetic the Islander fans comment Rangers videos?Do you have anything better to do?I would hate to see torts without the camera's,better yet in the locker room!!!

  • Ooh, I do, I do!!! But what can you expect from Isles fans? They can't even fill their arena unless they're playing the Rangers, and there are always more Ranger fans at those games than Isles fans.

Dude, I wonder what Torts is like with his wife and kids... does he have kids?? If so I hope none of them ever break the rules or Daddy will murder them.

  • once Jacques Martin gets fired from Montreal, bring in Torts when he becomes available....just refreshing....

  • The chemistry between Tortorella and Brooks is just great.

  • He needs to hang out with Broncos coach Mcdaniels

  • Brooksie kind of stumped him there. Torts didn't have an answer on what he needed to do.

  • LOL! Hilarious. I hope he can help turn them around.

  • he yells at Brooksie every time! haha.

  • Gotta love Torts. i think he wants to fight Larry Brooks.
