Correct. Skinhead were blacks and whites in the sixties.They adopted the en brosse haircut that went against the hippie styles, and liked ska / rock steady (whats not to like) I was there. I don't know where the cropped hair came from, all of a sudden it was the fashion.

@malcolmcog Mate, I always thought the cropped hair was adopted from the Jamaican kids who worked in the docks and factories, they cropped theirs for practical reasons, long frizzy hair is an inconvenient mess, it's too hot under it, and it gets in the way. Kids soon all started doing it because it was neat and looked "hard" tho I think.

Most skins were the younger brothers and sisters of the old mods so the clothes were often handed down and the hair was never what you call long.

Damn If only I was old enough to be part of the original Skinhead movement, Both my parents were part of the Original movement (none Racist) Am 30 now and all I got is a great collection of Skinhead Reggae.
