@maxellmusic , a "Beast" is symbolic of an empire. Nero was the head of an empire at one point, but as we explain in the Nazarene Israel study, prophecies can have more than one fulfillment.
If what you are saying is true, then wouldn't you think that the mark of the beast is also symbolic and not literal? I think that it's appropriate to say symbolic representations of literal things to come just like the OT observances of Passover were symbolic enactments of Yeshua's sacrifice that was yet to come.
The Beast was Nero.

Exactly right. It is not that symbolic things do not happen, it is that they do not necessarily look like what the vision looked like.
I am hoping to teach on the Mark of the Beast at Sukkot (Tabernacles) 2010. If YHWH wills I will try to post it to YouTube also.
