The 6870 supports up to 4+ monitors on a single card. Do the math. The 6970 can be Crossfired with 4 cards at once.Just 3 6970's can run 24 monitors easily.

The only advantage the multiple monitor have then a home projector is the panoramic (curved) and the better contrast.

But with the money of 24 monitor you can buy a better projector, with 3d(like the cinema), and can project at curved walls. And save money too.
