also, I think that if that made him in the closet nobody would be surprise. I think that there is a reason why he kept robin so close and for so long. personally I think that there is a lot of homosexual undertones in batman comics that nobody really realizes. no I don't know if it's intentional or if it's completely accidental but I think that follow batman comics know exactly what I'm talking about.
claims were made during some of the earlier batman comics (that were really just to stir up shit) about batman and robin's relationship but that was 50-60 years ago when comics were written for young children
for the past decades batman and robin's relationship has been that of father and son (even adopting a robin as his son and the current robin being his biological son)
anyways great video loving the new ultimate spidey series
Wow, spiggerman? I guess the old adage of 2 steps forward and one step back. I do beleive racial issues are alot better than they were when I was a kid but with that said; it aint over. We still have people who are fed (as kids, ive seen it) effed up racial bias. But it is getting better and these yahoos need to remember its a fictional character. FYI, the book is great in that it doesnt cater to anyone race. Its really well written.
I read the comments on the USA Today page... wow! It's sad to see the level of ignorance and bigotry in this country. I'm trully sad about the way these some of those people think.
I dont even know how I came across this vid, but just when a lose faith in all "white people", you bring hope. Thanks for this video, and not only seeing whats going on, but doing your part in bringing it to light. Much Respect.
It is sad...I think that it's up to us as young people to stand up and say that all Americans need to be represented in entertainment....We live in a society where the same kid that listens to coldplay probably owns a tupac cd too..... I think that it's mostly middle aged and older people that have invented this racism and are now trying to thrust it upon the youth....It's our responsibility to say HELL NO
Fox makes my blood boil. Sinister. Its not just racism that intolerance applies to its across the board with discourse. A co-worker friend of mine was on the casy anthony jury and is concerned for her safety because people are out of their heads over the verdict. There are no bounds anymore. Civilty is gone. I'm at a point where I turtle shell myself to keep all the bile and venom at a distance. BTW I like listening to your vids while working on my slideshows.
Is it a stunt? I think so, but it wouldn't be any less of a stunt if the new Spidey was a blond haired/ green eyed kid named Madison Miller. It's no less of a stunt than Ultimate Logan's son wearing a yellow costume in the next UX title. Or the revamping of the Ultimate line in general. If it isn't successful enuff they'll probably just cancel it.
What kills me R fans who should know better acting as if Peter Parker is being taken from them when the "real" PP is in what? 5-6 comics every month? Also, the charge that this is "Politically Correct" pandering. Minorities have been in comics for 40 yrs, yet somehow THIS is Marvel trying to be PC? And who exactly are they supposed to be pandering too? The millions of Half black/hispanics writing letters to BMB?
2. comic readers who are gonna complain about any and every change that occurs that’s par for the course with fanboys, but there are the ones who are either casual or outright racist/prejudiced who really get me going because they say they are angry because these are characters and ideals that they claim to respect/cherish/upload, but that doesn’t jibe with their angry ignorant selves Spider-Man Captain America etc... are not characters who would be cool with racism/prejudice etc...
As per this Ultimate Spidey brouhaha, I see two things going on:
1. the general media not clarifying between 616 & Ultimate lines for Spidey as well as conservative/right wingers using the story to continue pounding away on political/racial ranting they were doing the day before so, I’m less annoyed by them than by comic readings.
I think It’s pretty sad that a large percentage of the fanboys don’t get that It’s not a good thing that minorities (race/gender etc…) are under represented in comics, It just baffles the mind that they can’t grasp that.
As far as how our country looks to the world? Racism, exists everywhere, we aren’t the only ones having to deal with it, the world can be a really shitty place dude.
