@jjbennett erm no it isnt. Its a fanned fret guitar, meaning the lower strings have a larger scale length. Commonly used for low tuning as the longer scale gives more tention to the string when tuned low allowing for better tone.

The final fantasy comments are funny, cuz I was thinking the same thing. I think it's because of the background of the composer. It seems as though these kind of songs come from Japanese composers, and whenever you hear a song like it, you're like, hmm, this should be in a final fantasy game.
