Both of these gentlemen are wonderful! They need an agent to hype & propell them to the fame they deserve. Much better & pleasant to hear than that fraud, Bocelli!
Wow... i am a pavarotti fan and i can honestly say that those two fellows are wonderfull! Amazing powerfull voices.. gifted by God but still not known enough to my opinion..
As a long-time Russian translator (tho' now retired & rusty), I also appreciate kirie85's comment & good translation, would like to give it a shot, perhaps a bit more colloquial: "Yes, they have fine vocal gifts, especially admire the ending." Браво! Blessings galore to both kirie85 half-way around the world and to rexxcarz for caring!
Frank, I want to cancel my comment about coaching in French. I just read your biography on your Web site and discovered that you are a living miracle. You dont need superficial comments from the likes of me, who wonders whether he could bear up under what you have been through. May God bless you every day of your life, though He already has in the gift of your magnificent singing voice. Just one opinion, you'd be great in Andrea Chenier or singing "Amor ti vieta."
Looked in vain for John solo. Frank's gorgeous Panis Angelicus is worth the price of admission. John, suggest you coach vocally gifted bro in French. Also, puh-leeze, could you record and upload "Nemico della patria" from Andrea Chenier? You are made to order for that one! Or..."Di Provenza il mar" from La Traviata?
I only discovered Frank and his MARVELOUS full tenor/resonating voice a few weeks ago, and now I find there are TWO of them!! His brother, John, has to be the BEST baritone I've heard in decades!! Why are these two wonderful and fabulous singers not world reknown?? If a hack like Paul Potts wow'ed the so-called judges on that stupid show, these guys would absolutely tear the roof off the place!! The world NEEDS to know all about these guys and hear the TRUE voices of God! Stunning!
I just don't understand what is wrong with this opera world. you can tear apart many of the baritones and tenors at the Met as I write this. YOU NEED TO BE THERE!!
Pardon me, but, bloody hell, who are these guys?. I have just seen this and have been blown away. Why are they not household names?. Such talent, such resonance of voice, such sheer excelence. Please, somebody, get a hold of these guy and shove them into the limelight that their talent demands and deserves. With the voices that they have, it shouldn't be that difficult. The music world is crying out for talent like this. Go for it guys. Show us more of the same.
Frank, g*d darn it, you and John have real gifts. Stop being a wedding singer! I'm old school in style as well, but you guys have it. I cannot point out any flaws in your singing and I have been listening for a few years now. You know what you need to do-just do it, the world needs you two.
Their French is absolutely terrible...but they make singing look so easy that I could care less. They have such perfect harmony together and both have very solid technique.
I thought they made an excellent job of it. I'm currently learning the bass part of this duet and i think i've found my source of inspiration. Thanks.
I love these guys...they have great voices and my heart goes out to them. Isn't there anything they can do about their weight? They could have serious careers.
John, the baritone, just rips that high B flat! Tenors must tremble upon hearing baritones invading their turf like this. Sherrill Milnes could sing up in these lofty notes. As for ever being a heldentenor, John would have to maintain a high tessitura throughout an entire opera...a demanding job if his true tessitura is baritone. I say just be happy intimidating tenors. Good luck you guys........
nahh...don't be silly. The other guy is most definetly a baritone. Listen to the spread on the higher notes. A tenor voice becomes more pointed the higher it gets...get it?...theres not really a better way i know of to describe it.
they maul yhismusic and the french but the tenor is something special with pathos and fire in his voice.but he will have a hard job convincing on stage outside the U.S.They cast singers purely on looks in most places today I have enjoyed other of his items more, but I REALLY LIKE HIM.
No, notes don't make a voice type. Listen to the voice-- he clearly has the color and 'boom' of a baritone. He may have sung the Bb at the end, but I doubt he could stay up there for an entire role. Aside from that, by what I've heard, John Tenaglia has a good career as a baritone.
having the "boom" of a baritone doesn't make you a baritone it could mean he is a more dramatic tenor...Placido Domingo was once a baritone and is starting to sing as a baritone again...but he is famous for his work as a tenor because he had the ability to sing the tenor roles...i think this gentleman is a tenor aswell...but u are also right because i am a baritone with a Bb (not one i use that much...ever lol)
i just saw a different recording and was about to ask "did the baritone hit the b-flat too???" because i didn't hear the usual D. now i see this question has been answered quite thoroughly. great voices!
Great voices, and "Great" singers (all meanings). Hi Mr.Tenaglia, I'm already fan of your voice. Keep singing like this, you're great. Take care with such pasta in NY, so nice, but so dangerous! Greetings from AllInVideo - Rio de Janeiro.
I've have seen the baritone(John)on stage many times. He wasn't that heavy at the time! I've also heard he recently lost over a hundred pounds and making a come back! I hope. He was/is a great baritone!!!!
What happened to my original post? Just want to say I like this version better than the ones with the microphones. I think the Tenaglias' have great voices!! I especially am impressed with the baritones ringing Bb at the end.....Bravi
That is because it is heavier. A dramatic (I am not saying he is based on this one hearing and quality of audio) sound is always "heavier" on the same note sung by a lighter more lyric voice. A baritone will almost always sound "bigger" (which in this case means heavier) when singing in unison with a lighter voice. There is still much more to it than that.
John was particularly good.
