Much of supernatural is based off real religious text and that's why people of faith have such a hard time with it. I'm guilty of it myself and i'm buddhist. anyway just my 2 cents

But at least , this show reminds people of the existence of God and angels

@noobz95 Well, by the end of Season 5, God must have either changed his mind and decided in favor of humanity, or that was his plan all along and he wanted to teach the angels a lesson about how free will is better than blind obedience. Sam and Dean's constant fight against fate may have led him to aid them in stopping the apocalypse. In my opinion, Sam regaining control of himself by recalling his life in the Impala was an act of God, who chose to intervene at the last minute.
@Calriec Michael may have known God personally but that doesn`t mean he couldn`t have misinterpreted God`s will . We know from Lucifer and Cas that God told the angels to love the humans and pretty much only Cas ( because he saw them as " his Father`s work " ) , Cupid( because he`s Love Incarnate ) & Gabriel(because he saw the beauty of human civilization ) obeyed .
remember that this is a very different universe. what I think, is that God is just the most powerful entity in this particular universe. He peeked at a few of the universes next door and saw what beautiful things souls could be, and tried his hand at making some lifeforms. Didn't work out. Leviathans had to be scrapped. Angels were better but...stupid, arrogant, completely dependant. He made humanity for angels to learn from. he's still working on that.

I like how all of the angels are all typical god complexed douchebags, but are still angelic. Especially Lucifer and Michael, they have all of the posturing and knowledge but are still just angry brothers trying to prove themselves to daddy. It's been referenced in the show that he's stronger than Lucifer as well, with Dean's "Michael can ice the Devil", and Cas saying "...Is Michael killing your brother" (used by Lucifer as his vessel). Look him up: His name even means "He Who Is Like God", and he's the 'Alpha' Angel, or the first angel ever created by God. Some faiths even only give Michael the "Archangel" title.

It's far-fetched to assume that, since Lucifer's never been mentioned as an "Archangel" in the Bible, nor has he been mentioned in it in the first place. He's only been mentioned in other scripture. The only angels the Bible has ever mentioned by name were Michael and Gabriel.
@Mindaugas7100 The only mentions of Lucifer, which is in scripture other than the Bible, had him as a "fallen angel" and as a "former member of the Seraphim", while Michael has been called the "Prince of the Seraphim", which means Lucifer was always lower in status/power than Michael.

Michael also is known as prince of seraphims aswell as prince of heaven.

Lucifer has never been said to have been "wiser" than Michael either, those are false assumptions and random beliefs.

@Gex9z Hi there, I just came across this clip and saw this little debate going on and thought it was really interesting. It's always interesting to hear about what other faiths have to say :). Im Muslim, and we believe that angels don't have free will, only humans and the Jinn do. And that Lucifer (later called Satan) was not an angel, but a Jinn and thats why he could revolt against God. He was raised with the angels until he refused to bow down to Adam.
And with regard to Michael, he is regarded by Muslims as the angel of mercy. Angels are categorised by the tasks that they carry out for God. Michael is responsible for the rewards given to good people, Gabriel delivered the messages to prophets, Raphael blows the trumpet that signals judgement day, Azrael (angel of death) parts the soul from the body. And obviously there are many more not specifically mentioned by name :)
I liked Michael at first but after re-watching this scene it made me realise what a bastard he is. If I was an angel in Supernatural; I would have sided with Lucifer.
Man I just hope they bring Michael back!!! Besides for Castiel he was definitely my favorite angel in the series and he kinda got screwed in the end. I'm pretty sure he'll be back though, I mean with Crowley and Death opening the cage along with him being in there with Lucifer while it was only meant for one being I'm sure he can break out. & Yes he had his flaws but he was still are great being that could make the show interesting again.

@noobz95 Well, by the end of Season 5, God must have either changed his mind and decided in favor of humanity, or that was his plan all along and he wanted to teach the angels a lesson about how free will is better than blind obedience. Sam and Dean's constant fight against fate may have led him to aid them in stopping the apocalypse. In my opinion, Sam regaining control of himself by recalling his life in the Impala was an act of God, who chose to intervene at the last minute.

remember that this is a very different universe. what I think, is that God is just the most powerful entity in this particular universe. He peeked at a few of the universes next door and saw what beautiful things souls could be, and tried his hand at making some lifeforms. Didn't work out. Leviathans had to be scrapped. Angels were better but...stupid, arrogant, completely dependant. He made humanity for angels to learn from. he's still working on that.

It's been referenced in the show that he's stronger than Lucifer as well, with Dean's "Michael can ice the Devil", and Cas saying "...Is Michael killing your brother" (used by Lucifer as his vessel). Look him up: His name even means "He Who Is Like God", and he's the 'Alpha' Angel, or the first angel ever created by God. Some faiths even only give Michael the "Archangel" title.

It's far-fetched to assume that, since Lucifer's never been mentioned as an "Archangel" in the Bible, nor has he been mentioned in it in the first place. He's only been mentioned in other scripture. The only angels the Bible has ever mentioned by name were Michael and Gabriel.

The whole "Lucifer is the most beautiful" thing was from Milton's epic 'Paradise Lost': that's a story, not scripture :]. Lucifer has never been said to have been "wiser" than Michael either, those are false assumptions and random beliefs.

In the Book of Revelation, the passage states by word "...but he (Lucifer) was not strong enough, and was hurled into the Earth and his angels along with him". Michael was always said to be the highest of all angels, including Lucifer.

Im Muslim, and we believe that angels don't have free will, only humans and the Jinn do. And that Lucifer (later called Satan) was not an angel, but a Jinn and thats why he could revolt against God. And with regard to Michael, he is regarded by Muslims as the angel of mercy. Angels are categorised by the tasks that they carry out for God. Michael is responsible for the rewards given to good people, Gabriel delivered the messages to prophets, Raphael blows the trumpet that signals judgement day, Azrael (angel of death) parts the soul from the body. And obviously there are many more not specifically mentioned by name :)

Man I just hope they bring Michael back!!! Besides for Castiel he was definitely my favorite angel in the series and he kinda got screwed in the end. I'm pretty sure he'll be back though, I mean with Crowley and Death opening the cage along with him being in there with Lucifer while it was only meant for one being I'm sure he can break out. & Yes he had his flaws but he was still are great being that could make the show interesting again.
