I always wear boots and a helmet but I only wear gloves wen I hav to at shows cause the gloves I hav make it harder to hold the reins because they're so thick and it makes my hands all sweaty and I wear riding pants most of the time but other times I just wear jeans and I never yuk my shirt in because I only hav a few shirts that wud make a noise

@swygert321 look, she is only talking like that because there are people watching this who might not have a clue about anything to do with riding. and with some reins they rub your skin inbetween your fingers, and that can hurt like a bitch, so gloves would help with that shes not sayig that they would necasserilly make you a better rider.

No one's right a no one's wrong. You wear clothing that suits you but boots, are a must. For protection around horses feet when doing ground work and making a more comfortable ride. Helemets arent always neccesary, I dont ride with a helmet all of the time.Gloves are up to you.Jeans or joddies are fine too.

all i wear is a t-shirts, jodhpurs, and paddock boots, occasionally half chaps. gloves, halfchaps, even jodhpurs arn't neccesary, aslong as you havegood fitting pants, and riding boots :)

mg this video sucks to start with it didnt mention that your boots need to have a slight heel and a flat soul, then it says the "leather patch" is to help you grip, wrong it is because your inside of your knee rubs against the saddle or the horses back if your bareback riding and the patch gives you more protection, even worse that the above is that she says that your shirt should be fitted and tucked in because it takes it easier for the instructor to see your riding position, to be continued..

Always wear gloves

My hands are now completely destroyed from two hours of riding

Blisters for weeks were painful enough but now my hands are raw red and worn to death from three weeks ago still

When i ride with my horse i but on skinny jeans that are a bit big on em so they stratch and a tee i dont care about and thats how i save a ton of money untill a show comes up.. also i have a barn in my back yard and a ring so thats kinda why i just have skinny's and a tee

i wear half chaps. sometimes. but i never wear gloves..my horses sides are very sensitative so i usually just hold my reins and lightly put pressure on his sides to move him..and ive never gotten blisters on my hands.

Well I wear Jodhpurs that areskin tight there heaven and some high boots the look is fab so all should wear the correct clothing

I usually wear jodhpurs or breeches with paddock boots. Sometimes I'll wear half chaps.I feel like gloved hands aren't nearly as sensitive as bare ones.....anyway, I was told that the knee patches are to keep your breeches from wearing out in the knees. EquitationStar- I agree with you. I always wear my own helmet, and since it's a Charles Owen, it molded to my head and is wonderful.

I have the JR8(would've gotten the GR8 but i bought it with my own money), and I just toss a cover over it for schooling.

I always wear my breeches, and tall boots.:) I love them, They're just such a comfortable pair. I used to wear my riding gloves all the time, now I only wear them sometimes. Usually ride in a tee or a tank top, gets soo hot riding. haha

I can' t stand wearing jeans when I ride cause they rub and aren't very stretchy. And I always wear tall boots cause they help me get my heels down (At a show the other day I left them at hom on accident [an hour away from where we were] and had to warm up in my friends paddoc boots and it was like impossible to get my heels down) but as for the shirt, I don't like tight fittign shirts and I don't ever tuck them in (unless at a show, of corse)

lol, you dont hav to dress perfect sumtimes i just go down with jeans n wellies n shirt, joggers riding boots, jod boots etc , shorts haha. its up to you what you wear you dont have to dress like her, like your made of money!

i agree, but it is a lot more comfortable wearing jods :) and plus my jodphurs which are very nice were only like 20 to 30 bucks so they aren't ilke expensive.

and gloves help you grip the reins.

so if you show or ride english, i highly suggest to wear this. if not, well you are right, jeans work fine :)

what some people dont have the fancy riding stuff like me? im getting the stuff soon but right now we cant afford it! make a video showing what to wear with other stuff. i wear legging-pants with tight fitting shoes, and tight shirts. they supply the helmets

I think the clothing you are wearing is just fine. I ride both western and saddle seat english. My attire for western...jeans. My attire for schooling for saddle seat...jeans. I hate breeches with a passion and the little knee patches are not that helpful.  It is more important that you have boots with a good heel and the rest of your clothes are comfortable and not causing a hazard..they need not be fancy. If you ride english you can wear half chaps over jeans for more grip. Happy riding!

Who cares what you wear? When I ride, i always wear my jeans, and a t-shirt. And a helmet of course. I always just wear my cowboy boots when i ride, i also have tall boots, but i don't wear them too much, only when i ride english.
