The DNC is walking a tightrope on this issue. They can't appear to force Clinton out because they don't want to alienate her supporters. However, if Clinton drags this out until the Convention, McCain is likely to win. And since she doesn't have the numbers on her side, she seems to be willing to sacrifice a Democratic win for a tiny chance that she can pull off a Superdelegate coup in August.

Maybe people need to do what Barack did today, tell her to stay in if that's what she wants to do. It'll work on her supporters, as well.
Think of it as reverse psychology, lol. The more people tell her to drop out and leave, it just makes her and her supporters that much more resolved to stay in. For some, more angered.
It's like when someone tells another to shut up, his/her natural reaction is to think, "No, I won't shut up. Who the hell do you think you are?".
she might as well drop out, she wont win unless she gets landslides in every contest yet to come. wich is highly unlikely, that and she wont beat mccain either.
That was true until Texas and Ohio, when it reversed. Check your facts. In the most recent primaries Hillary got more Republican votes than Barack. In Texas Republican voters accounted for her win in the popular vote. Of course these people couldn't stomach a caucus, so Obama won handily there, and thus came away with more delegates. In Pa. it is the Reagan Dems Hillary is going after. Besides, what group is more loyal to the Dems than African Americans? Or do they count?
These people clearly do not care if the people from 10 states get to vote or not. How dare this so called bloated party leaders ask Senator Clinotn to drop out. this is gender related. Obama's numbers are not higher than Hillary's if you count Florida and Michigan. But Obama, the self-proclaimed candidate of "empowering the people, stopped a revote in those states.
"Obama's Lawyers successfully prevented revotes in Florida and Michigan." - David Brooks, New York Times, Mar.25, 2008
Not counting F & M votes sets a dangerous precedent. Don't be happy. Next time it could be "your" candidate or issue that suffers when you're silenced. This is not democracy.
Wow, nice distortion there, hillywill. Truth: HRC lied about agreeing to the rules and then broke them while everyone else abided and then sued to have these illegitimate votes counted. I mean how much lower can you go. She was working behind the scenes to get those votes counted, while she said nothing in public, then after her ridiculous ploy had failed she publicly campaigned for revotes. She's a hack and a hypocrite. Must have been easy for the lawyers to sort this ridiculous ploy out.
i.e. HRC would have to win 65% of the remaining delegates JUST TO CATCH UP. Even if you add MI and FL, that number is still 62%, and btw, she won both Michigan and FL with less than 60% (when Obama wasn't even on ballot in MI and HRC was the only one to campaign in FL). In other words even the illegitimate MI and FL results were BELOW TARGET. The dream is over, HRC should quit.
The fact is HRC cannot win it even if you include MI and FL. Just because she stays in the race doesn't mean her chances are realistic. That woman is delusional about her own abilities. Check Bradford Delong quote below.
"And she wasn't smart enough to realize that she was in over her head and had to get out of the Health Care Czar role quickly."
She's never smart enough to realize that she is in over her head. She lives in a dream world chasing sniper bullets.
If what you're saying is correct there is something wrong with a system that says you are behind in delegate votes even if you win the popular vote in CA, NY, TX, MI, FL, PA, OH, NJ, & MA.
You can't change the rules after the game is over because you don't like the results. MI and FL knew the rules and broke them and have to pay the consequences, no matter how much whining Hillary does. Whining and crying don't get you your way.
That woman would do any and everything to win,by hook or crook, stuping to low levels, playing any card she can. They took a poll that said 63-73 percent of the people think that she went with negative attacks 1st.If any of this is somewhere near the truth,if she only cares about herself,if she will stupe to any level to win whats gonna happen when she gets in office. The sad part is all she had to do was speek on the issues not go negative an be her self an mabey it would be a tie right now
If Obama gets the most popular votes, the most states, and the most delegates going into the primaries. Hillary still wouldn't quit. She would still want a revote in Florida and Mich.
Prediction: Obama is annonced the winner at the promaries and Hillary comes up to accept the award. Kind of like that scene in the movie Zoolander.
If the Democrats had done winner-take-all primaries like the Republicans, Hillary would have the nomination since she won all the big states. And if Florida and Michigan counted, she would be ahead in the popular vote.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The media is sooo biased! Fact of the matter is that Hillary is might strong and polls strongly state that Hillary will handily beat John McCain in November! word on the street is Republicans have nastier news than we've ever heard they are just waiting to pull on Obama if he's the nominee
Hillary treated the other senators like they were Queen Hillary's Court and now they have turned their back on her. Now she is painted in a corner and can't go back to the Senate! Also, she tried to streetfight Obama to force him to the table where she would demand the VP slot. Unfortunately for her, this caused her negatives to SOAR to the point where she is not a desirable VP candidate plus Obama is so pissed off he wouldn't consider her for dog catcher.
It just does not help Obama and his crew to have them look like the they are bullies. Also Obama will need Clinton to stand up and say "Vote for Obama he is the only choice if you don't want 4 more years of the Bush administration."
Because Hillary Clinton still receives nearly HALF of the vote of the Democratic base - surely you're not saying Obama should go forward without it? She has fiercely loyal supporters, and there will be lots of bitterness when this is over.
I truly think it is time for Obama to concede. He just can't win after all the racism in his church came out. Democrats just do not have a chance if he stays in.

SHE CAN STILL WIN!!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
The media is sooo biased! Fact of the matter is that Hillary is might strong and polls strongly state that Hillary will handily beat John McCain in November! word on the street is Republicans have nastier news than we've ever heard they are just waiting to pull on Obama if he's the nominee

What polls are you looking at?? Ones you made up in your head?

FALSE. the unbiased polls, my friend. try being independent and thinking for yourself once, my friend.

hahah now you sound like Mccain with all that friend talk. Clearly by your -7 rating people don't agree with you, my friend.

"Word on the street"? You can't be serious.

She doesn't need to drop out. She's digging her own grave and, subsequently, will lose under her own power.

I wouldn't support Obama if HRC was the VP. I'm serious.
vertigate 3 years ago
Yeah, cause I wouldn't be surprised if she killed him to take power.

It just does not help Obama and his crew to have them look like the they are bullies. Also Obama will need Clinton to stand up and say "Vote for Obama he is the only choice if you don't want 4 more years of the Bush administration."
snarkwaupaca 3 years ago
Why does Obama need Clinton to state the obvious?
WhyNotTruth 3 years ago
Because Hillary Clinton still receives nearly HALF of the vote of the Democratic base - surely you're not saying Obama should go forward without it? She has fiercely loyal supporters, and there will be lots of bitterness when this is over.

Wow, you were right. Good work.

So according to him people should shut up and let this mess continue because her highness may get her feelings hurt if she realizes the truth?

I truly think it is time for Obama to concede. He just can't win after all the racism in his church came out. Democrats just do not have a chance if he stays in.
