  • The 80s really did have the ugliest cars.

  • Why does everyone think the world has changed so much? And that it was only us in the 60s, 70s, 80s that had real fun? As you age you have different things to worry about so the world seems worse as you get older. I'm sure the kids of today have just as much fun as we did in the 80s, in different ways but fun all the same.

  • Sucks for your truck.

  • God I miss the old days :(

  • atari was a video game?

  • the ads from the 80's and the 90's were so weeird!!!

  • there was a car called the perejot noaldldkjsl or whatever? I do not remember that...

  • holy shit, beeen looking for the first one for a while now, thanks

  • lol, the cheese commercial

  • I still have my orig ATARI. For sale! Make me an offer!

  • My favorite game on Atari was Asteroids. My first game on Atari was Pac-Man. In today's Xbox and PS3 world, people call Atari's Pac-Man one of the worst games ever. Do you have any idea what it was like for a little kid to come home from school and see an Atari in his room running Pac-Man? My parents rocked for surprising me like that back then.

  • Who would've thought that before long the CGI video component of the ad for the game being advertised would actually become the game.

  • Christmas 1981...my whole family from across the country spent the week at our house.

I woke up on Christmas morning and under the tree was Atari 2600...my cousin and me went apeshit.

We played games till our fingers bled from the red button.

Anyone remember the trick with Pitfall where you would put the game in fast and flick the on switch, the game would come on but Pitfall Harry would be upside down and in some alternate Universe?

    The 80s rocked, sorry.

  • I miss the 80's being a teenager then was just great

  • they have cars in england, and video games, and tv? i thought they were all dying of aids in the jungle, walking around with pots on their head and big disks in their lips.

  • Our first family car was a green Talbot Solara, and my Dad loved it so much our second car was a black Talbot Solara!! Go on the Solara's lol

  • Wow. Few Talbots are still seen on the move but their numbers are very very few. Good bye you P.O.S.

  • A geek explosion!!

  • 80's gaming was just so much better than today, gathering up your coins and heading out to have showdowns in the arcades against the best of the best of the best. no continues no save points and hard as @@@@ games.

    Awesome.........

  • @weejoeham Amen......Amen

  • Castelmaine xxxx " I CAN SEE THE PUB FROM HERE"

  • ROFLMAO ATARI SONG THINGY! XD

  • Holy butt fu*k, that atari music... it is... So old

  • 0:24 At this point I was laughing because today it'd sound more like a joke to say something like that.

We live in such exponential times and as a young person, such things like the 360 amaze me. Will I laugh at the360 when the time comes? At least a friend of mine has solemnly insisted on playing the 360 to his death.

  • Bloody hell how dated do those talbots look?! Best car they made was a Talbot Sunbeam! Cool 4X advert loved that way back. Atari soo cool! and the cheese ad i remember! Ahh those were the days!

  • holy crap I can play it on my OWN TV SET!?!?!

  • From atari to xbox 360 a massive jump

  • i remember getting a 2600 on christmas, in 81, and i had just turned 11, when i was playing it. All of a sudden my joystick broke off of the pad, i was mad as hell

  • i love that 4x advert, still funny.

  • 0:37 Oh, naughty Spongebob without squarepants...

  • Wow.. I loved Atari.. I turned space invaders over. My family was amazed... It was truly the most fun!!!

  • is still got my atari 2600, zx81 and amiga plus all boxed and no there not for sale lol.

  • peugeot ad is scary and cars are ugly as hell

  • That car is HIDEOUS

  • kool i used to have one of these.. takes me back

  • Quadruple X, what the fuck? These people know how to live.

  • what the fuck is a talbot???

  • brand of car.

  • I bet there are more Atari consoles around now than Talbots !!!! ;o)

  • My neighbour has one rotting on his drive. I think it might be the last survivor!

  • You Limeys are fucking weird...

  • Jesus Christ, Atari console-£129.99 and cartridges-£18.95. how on earth did my parents afford that?, most consoles and games are around that Now and the wages in 2008 are so much more.

  • I had a 2600 in the early 80s, and had about 20 games for it..I remember em beig knocking on for £20 a pop then, which was almost the same as a week's shopping!

  • well you can with ataris tempest for the xbox360 it is in stores everywhare so you can

relive your fave atari memories by getting the game for the 360 what memories 20/10

    frankie smales

(frankie smales movie and tv review uk)

  • £ 129.95 for a console and £18.95 for a game back then.......somehow the PS3 doesnt seem all that expensive these days!!!!

  • After the Atari ad it sucked. Still, atari ads are best!

  • The asteroid scene was cool!

  • man i love the atari song

  • I should have been alive during the eighties... it isn't fucking fair that I have to be young NOW... what the hell is my generation supposed to do?

  • I no longer video game because the new video games sort of suck when you think about it. The last good game was GTA Vice City, and there wasn't much before that and after Star Fox 64

  • @StyxHexenhammer

Nah, there are still good games among the shitty ones, just like back in the day (i don't need to bring up games like E.T. on A2600, Action 52 on NES, Shaq Fu on Genesis or Superman on N64, do i?). See, there were always bad games and good ones. You just have to know where to look.

But i admit, 80s have this oldschool charm that can't be revived. I was born in 1992, but i had A2600 when i was young so i got a bite of the atmosphere.

  • @StyxHexenhammer Zombie CS MOD!

  • @StyxHexenhammer yeah, i guess

  • @StyxHexenhammer Agree with you on GTA Vice City....the other GTA games stink.

  • @StyxHexenhammer I guess we'll just have to sit here and watch it on youtube...

    :I

  • @StyxHexenhammer

You can play emulators for your Windows PC!

Arcade, Commodore, TRS-80, Sinclar, Atari etc

  • @StyxHexenhammer i played some awesome games in the 80s )

  • @StyxHexenhammer I understand. This WAS my generation, and I miss the time when technology was actually FUN. The games now are amazing, but not nearly as fun. The hush over the crowd when the ace player got to the end of Moon Patrol, or was about to roll the score on some game. It was almost a spectator sport in the arcade.

  • @StyxHexenhammer Agreed, im 10 and I HATE this so called 'Modern Technology', which HAS ruined my life for the Fact that I love Retro, Everyone makes fun of me, Fuck even my Friends make fun of me, because they play the game console that has HAUNTED me , The FUCKING, XBOX 360, Which has ruined my life, Thankfully the PS3 didn't ruin my Life, because I hate it and Lots of people do. The Wii Didn't either, Until New Super Mario Bros Wii Came out. I like all retro consoles, like SNES, NES, etc.

  • @MafiaMansion Me too. I'm 11 and I have an NES, SNES, N64, Wii and Xbox 360. Oh yeah, the Wii and 360 I haven't played in 3 months. I say I hate MW2, people laugh at me. How retarded is that? Plus, games are TOO easy. While it's taken me months to beat Super Metroid, Ib rented MW2 for the heck of it and I beat it in 1 day on Hardened mode.

  • @metroid567 wow,you HAVE an NES,SNES and N64? I wish I had all those,but I only have emulators.

  • @StyxHexenhammer .... the 80s were the best times ever....... i lived them... loved them.. wish i could do it all again ............

  • @StyxHexenhammer ware tight jeans and enjoy some bad music

  • @StyxHexenhammer i know man it sucks

  • @StyxHexenhammer - Haha! I sort of agree with you. The best thing I can advise you to do is invest in MAME, SNES 9x and other such emulators to allow you to play all the old games. You might want to consider going on eBay and buying a BBC Micro Model B, ZX81, ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 too. I was born in 1972 so I can remember all of these 1980's games. Graphics have certainly got better, but some of those old games are unbeatable when it comes to gameplay. Have fun! :-)

  • @StyxHexenhammer ah I was a child in the 80's..... it rocked!!!! then I was an adolescent in the 90's..... it all started to suck after the year 2000 and the internet came along and people stopped hanging out, going out.... before the internet era kids would go out to the street and play!!!

  • @StyxHexenhammer

I was about 5 years old when Space Invaders came out at the start of the Golden Age of Arcades.

I spent most of my days in the arcade on the caravan park in Blackpool watching people play arcade games like defender and space invaders. I loved the early eighties so much. I would love to live it over again.

  • @Matthewburrows1973

    Same here... time machine?

  • @StyxHexenhammer Just pretend you live in the 80s. Watch old shows, movies. Listen to old music and dress retro. Buy an old car. As far as I'm concerned the world ended in 1989.

  • @StyxHexenhammer Cheer up, it wasn't all peaches and cream back in the 80's either.

  • @Hotshotter3000 No, but it was waaay better than now because people now live a world of paranoia, hate, and greed. That's not living. In the 70's and 80's, we only cared about having fun and we did.

  • @cheapcape You do realize that the cold war scared the living crap out of the people, and that in 1983 the world came dangerously close to nuclear war? On top of that, the quip made by Ronald Reagan in 1984 about bombing Russia gave people nightmares for months on end. Not to mention there was the Iran-Iraq war, the Lebanese Civil War, The Afghan War and the founding of Al-Quaida by the CIA. the Iran Contra scandal. I could go on all day, really.

  • @StyxHexenhammer Go to E-Bay and buy yourself an Atari 2600 system, some cartridges...and have some fun!

  • @StyxHexenhammer dont moan...you have the wooden top - simon cowell and his amazing karaoke shite to watch nowadays, but if you've had enough of that then you can pop round and play on my atari or in-television lol.

  • @StyxHexenhammer play call of shitty

  • @MultiEnglish1 or call of doodie

  • @cheapcape who uses doodie?

  • @MultiEnglish1 the toilets of america

  • @cheapcape how old are you

  • @cheapcape LIAR

  • @StyxHexenhammer I sympathize with you. Over-protective parents keep you locked away, so you have nothing to do but play Battlefield 3 all day. In the 80's, we played games AND went outside to visit shopping malls, play around in the rain, and just ride our bikes around. We never had a dull moment. The world seemed limitless then.

  • The new cars on the car commercial seemed like used cars, although they're new. It's hard to explain but it gives you that sense after years past.

  • WOW three games i do wish i was back in them days again Hmmmm

  • Classic!!

  • Good lord - Talbot Solara. No va va voom in those days!

  • lmao i remember those days playing ping pong and asteroids so many games lol

  • £129.95 for an Atari !!! Bloody hell that was expensive then.

  • This may be my favourite song. Ever. The Atari one, I mean. EVERYONE'S GOIN' ATARI. THE NUBMER ONE VIDEO GAME.
