I think that this boat would have trouble making it across the East River in one piece. It couldn't have come from Europe.

Maybe this isn't "Emigrants Landing at Ellis Island 1903", but "People Getting Off a Boat 1903"

this isn't the actual ship that they traveled across the ocean on. immigrants were ferreid to ellis island on barges for health inspections.
