I know that Lars' listed style is "Tekken Force trained military combat" but someone told me that his moves and flow looks heavily influenced by American Kenpo. Can any practitioners out there confirm or deny that for me?

@DrummermanMatt His style wasn't influenced by anything. It was just made up because he is supposed to be more of a super human with his own style of combat. If you notice a lot of his moves are extremely elaborate unlike the other characters. You would not fight someone like that in real life especially since most of his attacks are open handed slaps and back hands. His style is actually listed as Unknown. His basic grabs are the Tekken Force military combat, which are basic grab for any style

@PJay163 well some people are playing on xbox or using arcade sticks. or even just playing at arcades. basically 1, 2, 3, and letters are a universal format for describing buttons. This way no matter what system you use the combos make sense. If you don't know what they mean you could always look it up. very easy to find online.

Not everyone assigns the same input for each button thus my square could do what your triangle does (or whatever). This is why they use numbers to refer to the action you're supposed to do rather than what you are supposed to press. Not to mention the people who use fight pads that don't have, square, triangle, x, and o. Fight pads have like a mess of face buttons usually not labled. Most fighting games have notations like this so please think before you comment.

@Songcompiler This is the notation used by he vast majority of Tekken players, and it applies to any controller...arcades, PS3 or Xbox360. Just visit tekken zaibatsu and it will make things a lot easier for you.

@MoQuake there's an option in practice mode called COUNTERSTRIKE, choose yes. You hit as counterstrike when you hit the opponent while he's trying to hit you.

u just have to do it quickly... for example at combo 1, when you do the DB 2 1, immediately do the FB 21 after 1 in DB 2 1 hit  ur opponent.. the key is to move ur joystick quickly and accurately (the FB notation).. you'll get used to it.. (to be honest, i have the same problem when the first time i use Lars)

go in practice mode and do lars FB notation , when you get the hang of it try pressing 2 . keep doing that until you get it right (the person should get hit far away)

then when you've learned FB 2 , do FB 21 , keep practising FB 21, when you've gotten hang of it , try it in a combo. you'll get the notation . then hoopefully you'll learn it

lars failed at juggle start. you have to fake attack and move in silent step juggle start and you can actually repeat the first combo shown in the video. i only used that one to reduce opponent health to half. i used asuka normally but this guy movement is so cool to be ignored :D
