@bobalitos actually they do rely on winning for food... philippines is a corrupt country... wit a f**k up president.. theres no job... so they join alot of games just to win & have money to eat :)
well. lemme put it this way: arguably the best male in the world, Earl Strickland or perhaps Efren Reyes, gives the best woman player in the world, Allison Fisher, the 6 ball. Which means she only has to run out to the six ball and make it, while her opponent still has to make it to the nine ball. At least thats what I heard from a friend about Earl and Ally when they gamble.
that sounds like B.S. the allison i see on espn runs out 98% of the racks. noway anyone is offering her the 6, perhaps the seven, or the 8 and the break
tournaments and matches and whatnot is different than playing even money with somebody. the pressure stays squarely on your head, and in your head! thats right! i can look at an audience or something in a match to relieve pressure but playing heads up without the thought of a next opponent or a trophy, whatever, really screws with your head. :0 but whatver its all bulloks
tv tables are always loose, especially the ones on espn. the tv lights are really hot, so they soften the cusions and are less springy when the ball hits them and a combination of new balls and cloth allow the balls so slide better. Pro players under realistic conditions, on shimmed pockets used cloth and used balls, appear to be much more human however, the men seem to adapt and stay accurate far better than the women.
@chickfromanother You played in the open or at the open? If your claiming to have played "in" the open, I'm going to go out on limb and say you just made that comment without thinking first. According to your username and videos on your page, you appear to be female. The us open is a mens "only" tournament. So, you played in the U.S. what?
@tsummerlin84 huh..funny think is im pretty sure I never wrote a comment on here. Must have been one of my friends. Im sorry that it bothered you. I personally don't play in tournaments. So of course I wouldn't know. Judging that this is a Pagulayan match I would say my sister probably wrote it her being a fan...but she probably was portraying something she had heard. She still has lots to learn.
thing is, men are built to be good at what they are doing. All women are built to clean imo thats why they arent as good as men at sports HAHAHA. Don't quote me on that :P
womens pool blows. some women i respect there games, but i see alot of shit pool when they play on T.V. frankly it looks like a bunch of twenty something year old dikes who after eating eachother out all day go play a little pool and poker at night, some of em get O.K. , most dont know shit.
they miss alot of shots, don't know tactical play hardly. i played one the other night and i had to take it easy on her incase she cried or some shit lol
they ssem to be just as consistent on pattern play and shotmaking...so i do believe that any top 10 women could beat any top 10 man in a single race, but as far as a women winning a co-ed tourny...if allison fisher cant do it, no one can...at least not yet.
as for women vs. men in billiards..I know it might seem they should be equal, Ive watched co-ed tournys with the likes of allison and kelly fisher, jennette lee etc. and there IS a gap between them and the top 20 men players...especally on the break and on power stroke shots like extreme draw and things like that..but...(continued)
skilled commentator with high pool knowledge is hard to find. I personally like bill incardona for pure knowldege, but really dont think hes polished enough as a commentator. But god that one dude who does all the espn matches (Mitch lawrence) great TV guy, alot of excitment, but it sounds like hes never seen a damn rack of nine ball. If he has any knowledge it doesnt come across. Ive never once heard that guy say something technical.
They already organized mixed championships. Although women CAN rivalize with men, they are still lacking some skills. The power break comes to my mind, the ability to play well under pressure, etc.
But let's say that the top 5 females in the world could pretty much beat anybody in a race to 9.
Poor Vilmos! Missed that one carom shot (just barely). Good to see these guys cracking up and having fun too.

a few years ago i worked at a pool hall that was owned by a semi pro player who has known the other pros for some time.
second of all thats a little high. she doesnt runh out that much. third she porbably wouldnt get a shot against earl they just play too strong.

The world pool masters is an invitational tournament. This year Yu Ram-Cha (korean's leading player, female) played in it.
Last year's World 14.1 had a 3rd place for a female: Jasmin Ouschan.
Do you still think there are not mixed competitions? And that females can't compete at the same level of the man?
Thz BClub to give us this magic videos of the best pool in the world!

pepamethodman 2 years ago
you seem like a pro' can i ask you a question
since pool is fairly a non strenuousness sport, and in terms of equality, i think females and males are equal.
why dont they have mixed tournaments? I think unisex world championship and tourney's are better
tylernautica 2 years ago

dieuxroux 2 years ago
I mean why not make the world pool championshiop co-ed, us open co-ed, world pool masters etc.
seems fitting for the inclusion of females, imo titles are false and misleading, if not everyone can compete... thats all
(this coming from a guy where I think alot of other sports just need to be professionally co-ed, just think a bout it)
