hey, im totally new to the whole unstoppable thing, and only got the dvd yestarday (i borrowed it cuz i like crazy eights) i know this sounds really stupid, but do you mind telling me where triple 7 is in this? yeh i know it sounds ridiculas to some of you out there! plus the movie i borrowed hasnt got commentary or bonus features or anything just scene selection and play :)
PaulPeirceFan, if you look carefully enough, they used a couple of hydraulic arms to jack up one side of the engine until it rolled over.... noticed the shining hydraulic arms?
@PaulPeirceFan First thing you need to know it that they were not real loco's. They were props built feet from where they were flipped over. They were for the most part two rolling pop cans. Check my videos. One of them shows shots of them building these props.
The way they flipped these over was a combination of cables pulling them over as well as rams pushing them up on one side.
@CimarronWestfolk hi there I would have thought the would use old Loco`s from breakers yard as they do with redundant aircraft on aero-plane disaster movies. hey but then again scrap metal is a gold mine these days
@CimarronWestfolk got to tell yea some where real loco's like the one they fliped i was a extra in this movie i watch them on how they made it flip off the track then explode ..they had cables and a ram bar to hit the train and as the train came off the track the cables would pull the train off the track and it landed on its side then they blew it up..get the DVD you can see tony scott saying he used real trains and no CGI he said he likes the realism of what you get shooting real stuff
@CimarronWestfolk dude go by the DVD and see where tony scott said how he didn't use props or CGI he uses the real shit the one train they flipped was a real train it was on a remote control all of the trains in this movie was on remote control they was controled by a man wearing a control panel on his chest the control panel has every thing the inside of a train has even the trian 777 was run by remote control ..get the DVD look at the behind the scenes you will see that train was not a prop
@CimarronWestfolk dude i did watch the DVD a few times ..you know what kind of props they used ..the kind that had like a half a front end of a train that was pushed by a truck and that was for close up shots of when the actors had to be on the front end of the train ....i was in the movie as a extra i seen alot of stuff they used and its real ..hell i got to go on the 777 train.. i was in that scene at the end where all the cop cars and fire trucks are speeding beside it thats a real train
@CimarronWestfolk and you remember the end of the movie where the police car flips ..that was done in martins ferry ohio ..20 min from bellaire ohio i was being a extra in both towns ..and i watched them flip that police car that was also real i looked into the car and was checking it out about 10 min before they shot the scene and flipped it ...even them helicopter's was real and was doing stunts that you wouldn't believe those guys that fly them things are crazy but they do real stuff

@Applachia0928 Those weren't real SD40-2's. They were just replica props, but they really did blow them up.
